About this cabin rental
Serendipity is located on beautiful Galiano Island...It is situated on Whaler Bay, and is nestled amongst the forest and wildlife...It is a well kept 50's pan-abode log cabin, on the water with a beautiful view...Deer, racoons, otters and eagles regularily frolick through-out the property.
Quiet, serene, and comfortable, this little beauty sleeps two in the main cabin, but also has a guest cabin which sleeps two as well.....( this is an additional 50 pr. night, but can be negotiated for long term rentals).
It is walking distance from the main ferry terminal as well as the local shops and the Madrona which is a world class spa.
Because the water is collected from rain water and has been treated, there is bottled water provided for drinking. The tap water is used for dishes and showers.
Please limit your showers to a min. in the summer as Galiano is one of the driest gulf islands and water must be brought in by truck to the its not a problem in the winter, because of the rain.
There is no garbage pickup on the island so please take your garbage back with you. There is a compost to use for food scraps to help condense the waste.
Serendipity is a wonderful quaint and peaceful cabin that I know, you will enjoy and feel relaxed by the time you check out.
There are also kayaks and paddle boards available for rent at the bottom of the property. Contact information will be left at the cabin..

What a perfect little hidden gem! We had such a great time on Galiano and the location of this cabin was so perfect. The cabin was cute and clean we loved it. The patio was great to hang out on and get some sun and relaxation. Deb was a wonderful host we highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Galiano Island. Thanks Deb:)

Great spot close to bakery, restaurants,hiking and ferry but in a quiet area overlooking small bay with seals and otters. Beautiful.

Deborra was a great communicator and we absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was clean and well appointed with all the comforts of home. The location was amazing and we couldn’t get enough of the beautiful deck overlooking the water. We spent the most time there watching wildlife, eating meals and relaxing. We can’t wait to visit again!

First visit to Galiano…. Will not be our last!! Serendipity was pure Heaven! The mornings with coffee on the deck and late afternoon along the water was simply perfect. Such a comfortable, beautifully decorated and well stocked cabin. The location is perfect. Loved listening to the wind chimes. Thank you Deb for sharing Serendipity with us. We’ll be back.

Enjoyed the darkness at night. No light pollution. Calm whaler bay and the western deck was great to sit and read with the sunshine in the afternoon.
Easy access to the whole island. Wood stove was burning all the time and great heat for this time of year. Kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils, spices and oils for cooking were plentiful. Great place to hang out for your island vacation. We’ll be back when we get back to Galiano.

Serendipity is a lovely place that has everything you need, including a beautiful deck overlooking the water. Deb, the owner, is extremely nice and communication was nothing less than stellar.

Good time
Serendipity is in a great location, 5 min walk to Cain beach and Babes delicious pizza’s. Kitchen is well stocked and deck gets lots of sun, we swam and used our floaties off the property most days, would love to stay again.

Weekend getaway
We had a very relaxing weekend away staying at Serendipity. It was a great base for exploring Galiano. Close to the shops and ferry but still very quiet and tucked away. We enjoyed spending time on the beautiful deck and down along the shore as well. We saw otters swimming by out front every night! The cottage is very cute and had everything we needed. It is very clean and Deb was a wonderful host.

A wonderful location, easy to find, enter, and was very clean. The deck overlooks the southern water inlet and is beautiful. We went in the cooler season and loved the wood stove. We biked to the local marina and rocky shores which are stunning.

New Years Winter Wonderland
A wonderfully delightful cabin where every inch is though out. The experience feels custom and well designed. There is every creature comfort, every nook and cranny offers a cabin companion. Hand crafted and local designs make this space feel warm, comforting and perfected. We spent a cozy snowy New Years enjoying the view and fire. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Great cozy Galiano get away
This is a really nice and cozy cottage for two. So well situated on Galiano for accessing local amenities as well as exploring and having a comfortable and clean place to return to. I especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen and really comfortable bed. Can’t wait to spend some time there in the summer.

Quiet Bliss
We enjoyed our stay at this cottage within walking distance to the ferry. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved just sitting on the deck and enjoying the solitude. The owner takes pride in her place and she made sure we were well informed. I swam off the property using water shoes on the rocks, although there is a beach close by and we enjoyed the canoe. This is a great place to stay - it even has AC!

Perfect for two!
We loved our stay at Serendipity. Easy to get to and close to stores for groceries. The cabin was very clean & well equipped and we enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the water. Exactly what we wanted! Thanks, Deborra!

Amazing location and amazing host!
This was our second stay at Serendipity and this time it was even better than the last. We saw SO many harbour seals on our morning paddle in the canoe, did many hikes and even saw a humpback. The little cabin has everything we needed and the location is unbelievably perfect. The host, Deborra made our stay extra special with a welcome card and a few little items to welcome us as she know we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. I highly recommend this property! A perfect time
Our host here will do all she can to make your stay just right. Location is lovely and convenient, amenities thoughtful, beds very comfortable, kitchen stocked. A perfect, much needed and all we needed stay.

Social distancing
We had a lovely time at the beginning of social distancing 2020. Getting food was a bit of a challenge and we should have packed more groceries, but how was one to know. We hope that the community stays safe.

Lovely cabin
Serendipity is a peaceful, comfortable and fully loaded cabin right on the water. The view is spectacular! It is decorated very tastefully and Deborra took the time to communicate all the little details and left us nice touches like chocolate, fresh flowers and a note. We will come again.

Magical place. Cozy cottage with view of the water. Walking distance to book shop, bakery, restaurants. If you stay here treat this place with TLC and it will reward you.

Lovely cottage, fully equipped and generously stocked!
Cozy cottage, perched atop a small bluff overlooking Whaler Bay. Kitchen equipped with everything you could need., and generously stocked with spices and other necessities. Deborra generously left us treats, too! She was readily available to answer any questions we had. Comfy bed. Launching the canoe is a bit of a challenge, but paddling along the bay was very enjoyable, as was sitting on the deck star-gazing.

Well appointed and on the sea, close to the ferry and stores. A wonderful place to relax, go whale-watching (yes, we saw orcas) and investigating tidal pools. Enjoyed taking the canoe around the bay. Thanks for a great 4-day stay.

Second time as good ad the first
We visited Serendipity by the Sea for the second time and our stay was once again perfect. The cabin is close to the ferry and everything you need is there including a canoe, kayak, barbecue and a beautiful deck. We highly recommend staying at Serendipity by the Sea!

Cabin on Galiano Island
We spent three wonderful nights at this beautiful cabin. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the deck looking out over Whalers Bay. Debora was a great host. The warmth and love of this special place is reflected throughout her cabin.

A bit of island paradise
Serendipity was the perfect introduction to Galiano Island! We wanted a quiet respite from which to explore the island, and we got so much more. Serendipity is beautiful, serene, and full of life. We loved our time there as much as our time exploring the beaches and trails. It was so lovely to come back to the sweet smell of cedar and light a fire in the wood stove after a day of adventure. The canoe was an extra special treat. For a couple of people from the prairies, paddling around Whaler's bay while dozens of seals about was an absolute delight. We hope to visit again :)

Sunset paradise on the deck
We truly enjoyed our stay at this very charming cabin. After full day of Galiano Island hikes it was very nice to get back to our cosy cabin. We especially loved the sunset views, eating all meals on the deck, the hummingbirds and the overall serenity of the place. There is a path that leads down to the water. During our canoe ride there was a curious seal that decided to swim along with us, that was extra special. We would love to come back!

Relaxing Time on Galiano Island
The cabin was a perfect place for our 20th anniversary celebration. It's just the right kind of cozy inside, where we slept so well, and the large deck outside was the perfect place to watch for wildlife, catch up on some reading, or just be for a bit. We enjoyed the proximity to some eats and shops that we could walk to. A swim in the bay in the late afternoon was about the best thing ever. We appreciated being checked-on by Deborra's friend who made sure we were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.Thanks for a beautiful time.

An Amazing Getaway
The property is very clean and tidy and the access to everything including the ferry, groceries, restaurants and coffee shops is but a few minutes walk away. I highly recommend this property for a quite getaway.
