Location is great if your not looking for anything fancy, if you want cheap this is your place. To start you will have trouble finding the place because from the outside it looks like a broken down barn. The door was unlocked and broken upon arrival. Kitchen had fruit flies that came from nowhere, microwave is rusted and coffee pot would spill water all over counter if you used the delay button. Upon entering main bedroom there was a smell of dead dog or vomit. We finally figured out it was from the pillows, sheets and bed. Lucky there was washer and dryer, two pillows were unusable due to smell, after washing sheets, bedspread and flipping mattress smell was finally gone. We could not use the dirty deck because every time we sat out there it smelled like dog s##t. The supposed kayak was filled with mud and dirt and a broken lamp. I have never been so disappointed in my life! Swim area was nice but boat ramp is all gravel and dirt so we drove to Cookeville Boat Dock to launch boat. I doubt any cleanup, washing sheets etc is done. It could be a really nice place if cleaned up and maybe painted. Also toilet and refrigerator made strange noises.

I’ve never pulled up to a rental and felt so terrible about a decision in my life. The place was literally falling apart/ down the hill! Buckets with 2x4’s holding up the front of this rustic cabin, nails everywhere, wasn't clean like all the other rentals I’ve stayed in, he has it listed under a super host, nope! Insects everywhere and even falling from the ceilings in the middle of the night on us in our sleep! We were walking around light footed the whole time scared to death! All of the floors had hole weak type areas underneath the flooring where it would sink. The instructions for the cabin said not to wear shoes inside but we found sharp copper wiring pieces on the rug in the living room and a roofing nail… so we wore shoes inside to be safe. No sharp knives to cut fruit or our steaks. The coffee maker wouldn’t work so we had a neighbor in another cabin. Drew us a whole pot for our family. The pictures were completely deceiving! Showed the view from the little red cabin in front of ours to make it look better… so wrong to do that! Not one picture of the actual cabin in his photos except for where the garage is and kayaks. There is a hot tub but it is disgusting and surrounded by workers construction mess!! Spend some quality time as the owner and make ALL the the repairs it requires to be an actual safe place to stay!! It could be a cute place but honestly it shouldn’t be allowed to be used as a rental until a contractor comes to make some major repairs!!

We had reservations to arrive at check in time (4pm central) on Thursday May 4, 2023 abcs check out on Saturday May 6, 2023. We arrived Thursday at approximately 6pm central and the handyman/house cleaner was there and he has been staying there and had the place a total wreck. I have photos of unmade slept in beds, empty food and drink containers everywhere, broken glass all over floor, dirty dishes and cigarette butts on floor. He finally finished up and left canon at about midnight Thursday night!!😱

Although the owner was a gentleman, the neighborhood leaves something to be desired. All dogs are running around unleashed with no owners in sight. Appallingly rude neighbor. Great location with beautiful deck amenities we were afraid to use after verbal abuse from stranger the minute we arrived.

Property manager was great communicating but that’s where it ended. We had to clean mouse poop from everything including in the silverware drawer before we could use anything. The dust bunnies, dirt, mold and cigarette ashes everywhere plus the garbage still from the last time someone was there seemed like cleaning isn’t an extra fee we should be paying for. We didn’t have any internet (there was a router but no connections plus hardly any cell service) or landlines in case of emergencies. The house was not on the water as the pics may make others believe (as we did) it’s close at least but across the little road and down the landing. House is at the bottom of a very narrow, steep, winding path so beware if you have a giant vehicle or it’s icy. No hand soap or washcloths made the first night interesting using the decorative cloth I found (my hands are still stained from the color bleeding out of it) and only dish soap. We went out and about so we left what we bought. I guess Vrbo doesn’t have standards because we could get past the “rustic” falling apart house but the filth is just not ok. Would NOT recommend staying here even for the little view there was!

We enjoyed our stay. The place was spacious. Deck was filled with leaves and the stairs were hard for my Father to get up. We would stay again because it was a fun place with lots of space.
