Spectacular ocean front condo with views from every room in this 3rd floor elevator access. Feel the white sands of Sugar Beach between your toes! Sliding glass doors open from both the living room and bedroom, with the lanai offering comfortable seating to dine and enjoy amazing ocean sunsets, Haleakala, and overlook lush green tropical gardens below. The quiet central A/C and cherry wood flooring throughout will keep you cool and comfortable along with the tropical ocean breeze. Your kitchen has cherry wood cabinets with granite counter tops, all new stainless appliances equipped with a glass top stove, large oven, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal and full refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker, blender, toaster and rice cooker. All dishes, pans, and gadgets that you'll need to cook luscious meals if you choose to eat in. Gas barbecues are available near the pool and spa in the central garden area for your convenience.

What to do first? The lanai deck box is stocked with boogie boards, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, beach umbrella and pool toys. The fenced pool area also includes a children's pool with a turtle and fish mosaic. Volleyball, horseshoes, a putting green, and shuffleboard courts are available for fun activities. There are also public tennis courts located just south of the resort. You'll find a variety of novels in the credenza, as well as books on Hawaiian history, birds and flowers that may be of interest. More books to borrow are located in the lobby library..
The friendly front desk and concierge is open between 10:00am and 4:00pm Mon-Sat for any questions you may have. There is no check-in fee.
Kauhale Makai is just 20 minutes from the airport and is centrally located near beaches, shops and restaurants. You are located close to many fine local restaurants. Safeway and local grocery stores are located within 5 minutes of the condo and you will pass Costco as you leave the airport.
The Maui Bus offers public transportation for only $2.00 with varying routes which you can google for more information. However, you will probably want to rent a car in order to see and do all the fun things the island has to offer. You have your own reserved parking spot.

Aloha! We enjoyed our 3 week stay in your beautiful condo. We saw many whales from the lanai and from the beach in front of the condo complex. We took many walks along Sugar Beach at sunset and saw turtles beaching themselves north of the Whale Foundation. We saw beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the lanai and the beach. The complex is very convenient to all destinations on Maui. In the evenings, we enjoyed meeting people from many destinations at the complex hot tub. We appreciated all the beach equipment provided by the owner. The beach chairs, umbrella and boogie board were great to have for our outings to Ulua beach. The outdoor grills on the condo complex are a great amenity. All of the unit furnishings were comfortable.

We have been returning to this beautiful condo for several years. Love watching the whales from the balcony, enjoying pool/hottub and bbq areas which are meticulously maintained, or watching sunsets from beach.
Clean, comfortable, nice modern kitchen (love the crushed ice option on fridge) and good extras with beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards etc.

Our stay in the unit was great, it was clean, well equipped with kitchen items, towels, towels and more towels, bedding, extra pillows, nothing missing at all. This was the best equipped unit we have had in the last 10 visits to Maui. Communication with the owners was easy and they were very responsive. Highly recommend!

Very clean, well stocked. Just two negatives: a) no washer / dryer, b) this place is nowhere near Sugar Beach. It's in Kihei, which is quite crowded and congested. Overall, it gets 4 1/2 stars.

The property was in a great location! We stayed three weeks and had everything in the kitchen to cook a lot of meals. The hosts were very responsive and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I highly recommend this property.

Eve & Scott-Your condo has everything that is needed for a stay in Maui. It was just as described online. Beach supplies were used daily. Only thing I would add is more forks and salt & pepper LoL! Oh, and the TV was really confusing. Otherwise, it is the perfect location and view from the lanai is beautiful. The check in process was seamless. When we can come back, we will be booking your condo again.

Our stay was everything we wanted and more. The views were even more spectacular than the pictures depicted. Everything we needed was included in the condo. We spent a lot of time at the beach so the umbrella and chairs were a nice bonus. We loved that restaurants and shopping were close by. It was also not much of a drive to see everything else on the island. The bed in the main bedroom was extra comfy. Our only suggestion is to make sure the cleaning service is throughly cleaning the floors. They didn’t look swept or mopped. We swept when we got there. We very much enjoyed our stay at Scott and Eve’s place. The location was perfect and the property was well maintained. We enjoyed many sunsets and sunrises on the Lanai, some of our favorite moments. The bed was super comfortable and the view while laying in bed was gorgeous. Thank you for opening your home to us for our honeymoon. We would definitely book again!!

Pro's: Condo was clean and very compfy! Bed was very comfortable, owners were extremely easy to comunicate with, and VERY professional! Property was beautiful, quiet at night, right on the ocean! Brand new coffee maker, beautiful new huge TV in bedroom! ;) great grills to cook out with, pool was perfect! Hot tub was great to relax and uncoil in!
Cons: condo was a bit smaller than pictures, kitchen was a bit small but everything we needed, could use some new pans (not a deal breaker....lol) not the owners fault, but washers and dryers were on 1st, 3rd and 5th floors, not in individual condos.

Beautiful and spacious 1 bedroom condo equipped with everything needed to make it home for the week. We were able to cook using the kitchen gadgets and used the provided beach chairs & boogie boards for our outings. Not to mention the AMAZING ocean front views, pool/hot tub, tennis courts and beach walk out. Also a great location to drive out to grocery stores and Maui’s main attractions (beaches, Hana, airport etc), very central. Would recommend this stay to anyone!

This was our third stay in this condo, and it did not disappoint. The unit itself has everything needed for a very comfortable and enjoyable trip - from beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler and more. We love the comfortable chairs on the lanai to watch for whales. Also love the fridge with water and ice dispenser (including crushed ice).

The condo is located in a great location. It is a bit north of the main beaches, but located on a lare grassy area with large beach. This area has hotels on the beach side rather than across the road. Condo is perfect for 2 and comes with chairs and boogie boards. The Lanai view is better than their pics. Restaurants and grocery stores are a few minutes away. The beach is great for wading swimming and sunning, and an easy drive to more famous south Maui beaches.

Such a great location, close to town, quick drives to basically anywhere on the island. Someone in our group saw sea turtles on the beach one day! I can’t imagine how amazing the whale views would be during the season!
The pool and hot tub were great amenities while having a toddler with us!
Eve and Scott were great at communicating everything! We would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed here for a week, and definitely plan to return! Eve and Scott were excellent hosts — communicative, polite, and easy to get in touch with. The condo is clean, well-maintained, and in a peaceful location. It’s a quick drive away from bars and restaurants, but the property itself and the beach it’s on are quieter. The view from the lanai can’t be beat! Other vacationers, as well as full-time residents, around the condo complex were polite and respectful as well. Highly recommend this stay!

We loved everything about our stay. The condo was very clean and well kept. The owners were responsive and kind. Sitting out on the patio watching the waves roll in was so relaxing. There were laundry facilities on the same floor which made it nice. The only issue we came across was that the beach chairs were broken but that wasn’t a big deal in that we rented beach chairs for the week. The umbrella was nice to have on the beach. We can not wait to come back to Maui and stay in this condo again!

We only were able to spend a night here but it was very nice. Nice quiet area but close to all the necessities. The condo was nice and clean, easy check in with good instructions. We had all we needed and when we return to Maui will seek this place out to stay again.

Another wonderful stay
We are returning guests to Eve and Scott’s beautiful condo and enjoyed all the comforts this unit has to offer. Morning coffee on the lanai looking at the whales was a highlight. The kitchen has been renovated since our last stay in 2019 and it has everything you need including fridge with crushed ice and water dispenser. Kids enjoyed using the boogie boards at the local beaches. This unit has everything needed to enjoy all Maui has to offer. Clean and comfortable, and waking up to the birds and ocean views. We definitely plan on returning. Mahalo!

Beautiful views and great location
We enjoyed our week in Eve and Scott's condo! The location is very convenient for travelling around the island, and the ocean view from the condo is wonderful. I loved being able to open the curtains and see the ocean from the bed in the morning! The property has a pool, hot tub, and large, beautiful lawn leading out to the beach - great for watching sunsets and recovering after a busy day. It was also nice to have beach chairs and an umbrella, and we used them several times throughout the week. The condo itself worked well for what we needed. We had a couple of issues, but Eve was very responsive to our messages and worked to get things fixed as quickly as possible. The bed frame was broken, but they had someone come in to prop it up and let us know that they've ordered a new bed frame. The description mentions a memory foam bed, but it's just a mattress - not memory foam. It feels a bit worn, but we slept well once the bed frame was fixed. We had an issue with the cleaning crew arriving late (family emergency or something), but Eve and Scott generously refunded our cleaning fee to make up for the inconvenience. There are a few areas of the condo that could use a deep cleaning though (e.g. the shower floor).

Village by the sea
This was a great location:right on the ocean and really close to the areas we wanted to go. We got to see turtles coming up from the ocean every night right outside the condo. Eve and Scott were really great to work with throughout our booking process and during our stay. Additionally the condo was a great size for two people and met all our needs. The only compliant I have is that the condo wasn’t really clean when we got there(floors looked like they hadn’t been swept and there was pink mold in the shower). I’m not sure if this is because the unit wasn’t occupied for a while or not. The master bed may need upgrading too as it seemed to cave in the middle. We ended up staying on the pull out couch bed which was plenty comfortable.

Eve is an outstanding owner. Very responsive and nice. Property is maintained beautifully. Easy access to Kihei. Quiet except for a few individuals that like to blare their music at the pool. Only issue was the bed feels worn out and sags. It has a nice soft mattress pad. Nice little condo and would stay here again. Thank you Eve & Scott. 🍍🏖👍🌺🌴

Beautiful and relaxing getaway
Nice quiet property with beautiful views of the water as well as the mountains…and the beach out the back of the property , just wow! Eve was quick to respond with any questions and their place was perfect for a getaway with my 2 grown sons. This was their first Maui experience so location was great for all they wanted to make sure and see! I would definitely stay here again!! Maui’s been nothing but breathtaking around every turn and to have a cozy place to unwind at the end of the day was icing on the cake😍

A perfect space to relax with beautiful views.
The condo has been nicely renovated with quality materials like granite countertops and nice tile and glass in the shower. I love that you can see the ocean while sitting on the couch and also while lying on the bed in the bedroom. The condo felt very spacious for two people. The keyless entry was very simple even for someone that is not tech savvy. The wifi was great and we had instant access to netflix on the large TV in the living area. The kitchen had a great array of plates and cutlery that made it easy to buy take-out and bring it home. The dishwasher was awesome! who wants to do dishes while on vacation. There are lots of great, affordable, restaurants in the area for take out and parking is so much easier than in Lahaina. What I really love about Kauhale Makai is that it is on a huge chunk of land perfect for sunset walks either along the beach or on the well trimmed grass. It is an older complex but in some ways older is better. If the same size property was developed today they would probably try to squeeze in five times as many units. If you are just looking for a nice laidback Kihei condo experience this is surely one of the best. The hosts were also super friendly and responsive throughout the entire booking process. Hopefully we can make it back for another visit one day!

Oceanview in Paradise
What a perfect description for this condo! We stayed here over Christmas and New Year and loved every minute of it!!! Amazing location - the ocean on one side and Haleakala on the other. The property itself is so well maintained, it's absolutely beautiful.
The condo was perfect, we had everything we needed and then some! Lots of towels, bedding, and extras in the kitchen - much more than what we've experienced in other condos. It was truly a home away from home.
We spent many mornings on the lanai watching the sun rise over Haleakala and then later in the evening watching the sunset over the ocean. Our kids (15 and 13) loved spending time at the beach on the beach chairs and chilling at the pool. The BBQ's are in the perfect spot so whoever is cooking can still hang out with the rest of the family at the pool. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
Eve was so attentive and quick to respond to any questions we had before we arrived. She also quickly answered a question we had about the laundry access while we were at the condo. We never felt as though we were bothering Eve and trusted that she would give us excellent information right away. The check in and out process was easy and straight forward.
