About this apartment rental
Superb top floor (2nd floor) 1 bed apartment (with additional sleeping in the lounge) within the finest complex of the beautiful & traditional fishing village of Alvor.
The accommodation briefly comprises of the following -
A fully equipped kitchen, inc.a full sized s/s oven/grill, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster & a whole host of utensils etc.
A fully tiled bathroom with full sized bath & shower, glass shower screen & curtain, WC, bidet, basin (within a large vanity unit), 110v hair dryer & plenty of storage for towels & toiletries.
A large & spacious lounge / dining area, incl. A/C unit, LED TV, a newly added dedicated TV box for all UK terrestrial channels plus the full Sky Sports package & BT Sports 1 & 2, a further cable TV set top box (with a large selection of English speaking channels as part of the standard Portuguese & European Zon package), plus hi-speed 100 mbs internet linked to our pre-paid unlimited wifi (more than quick enough to download or stream whatever you feel may be needed via your laptop or tablet for your comfort & ease), , a wall mounted electric 'Dust Buster' hand held vacuum, a full sized vacuum kept in the wardrobe, an L shaped sofa that easily converts to a double bed with bedding storage under, a 2 seater pull out sofa bed, dining table & 5 chairs, plus side tables & a storage unit with a library of books .
A double bedroom, bedside cabinets & sliding wardrobes which houses a digital safe & plenty of coat hangers (I know it sounds daft to state that, but better to be safe & save you packing them).
Our balcony gets the sun in the afternoon/evening, c/w a large yukka plant, table & chairs (fixed & reclining), clothes aire, all with great views of the estuary & village.
We also have a wardrobe in the entrance stocked with iron & ironing board, sun lounger cushions, a cool box, a yellow V da P approved sun brolley and other pool/beach related items all of which are provided for your use.
Towels / fresh linen service is provided on a weekly/bi-weekly basis or as specifically agreed at the time of booking.
Vila da Praia, Alvor is still a traditional, yet beautiful fishing village, which has a lovely harbour, cobbled promenade leading to a myriad of great laid back bars & restaurants.
It is a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing location with lovely sandy beaches & an old world charm all of its own.
Vila da Praia itself has a fabulous swimming pool and a children's pool situated in private gardens, secured by electric gates (both pedestrian & vehicular) & with decorative metal railing fencing to the perimeter.
The complex is centrally located to all amenities, it is a very child friendly environment, the grounds are beautiful, with easy access to the beach, restaurants, bars, leisure centre & the heart of the old town. A big bonus is that it is not on or up one of the large hills like most complexes in & around the village, so the walk in & around the village is a pleasure & not a chore.
The apartment is on the top floor & serviced by 2 lifts within 50m of the front door, so access is not a problem. This also extends to the underground car park where our allocated space is directly adjacent to the lift shaft, making the transferring of luggage & shopping as easy as possible.
Travel to/from the airport can be arranged through us or with local taxi firms in Alvor or Faro, the approximate costs at the time of placing this is somewhere in the region of 60 Euro per party of 4, 65 Euro for a minibus of 5+.
Car hire in Portugal is reasonably cheap, especially outside the months of July & August, but the beauty of Alvor & Vila da Praia is that a car is not required unless you want easy access to the larger out of town supermarkets or you want to explore the rest of The Algarve & all it has to offer.

Great stay in Alvor. This apartment is very well equipped and made for a very comfortable 3 week stay. It is walking distance to everything in Alvor. Great beach and Boardwalk for walks. Lourdes is a wonderful host. Nothing is too much trouble for her. We are planning to be back next year.

This is a great property ,ideally placed for the 5/10 minute walk to the boardwalk/beach, you are also on 5 minutes from bars ,restaurants and the bus stop to Portimao and Lagos. It is in a beautiful ,clean ,very well kept complex with a large swimming pool and smaller kids pool. The apartment itself is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. From sunbed cushions to indigestion tablets and anything in between. It has books and Sky tv so everyone is happy!! But the best thing about this apartment is Lourdes😊 she is the best, great communication, was waiting on us arriving and showed us how everything worked in the apartment. Thank you. Would definitely recommend.

7 day stay on winter road trip
We received a warm welcome from Lourdes who had been in regular contact before our arrival.
The tidy, modern apartment was on the second floor with nearby lift access. It was in a 7 block secure complex with large swimming pool area.
It was not obvious from the listing that the balcony was North facing and therefore shaded. This may be a blessing in the Summer, but in winter the apartment was dark and rather cold. Also drying washing was a bit of a challenge.
On arrival Lourdes did offer us the use of a ground floor patio in a different block, This of course will not always be possible.

Great apartment and location
This was a lovely, well equipped apartment with great pool. It was ideally situated, near the beach and the centre of town. Lourdes was an outstanding host. As we arrived late, she had bought in all the essentials...milk, bread, tea, coffee, cheese, ham, water. Also provided face masks, hand gel and all cleaning materials, and a great supply of towels. Would highly recommend this apartment.

Having stayed at VDP many times i knew the area very well. The apartment was as described .It was clean and spacious with everything needed for a self catering stay .Location wise is excellent [close to beach and town]. Lovely Property Which Exceeded Our Expectations

Fantastic apartment for two in Alvor
The owner was very welcoming on our arrival & had the apartment aired beforehand. Everything in the apartment you could want for your stay with many little extras. Most importantly, it was spotlessly clean. It’s a fantastic position when visiting alvor as, although on the edge of the town, you are a 5 minute walk from the beach, the beautiful boardwalk, the harbour & the centre of town. Pool facilities and gardens are immaculate and as it was not our first visit to this group of apartments, we can say it is always the same. Pool area has never been too busy anytime we have visited but if you are off season, it is very quiet. Plenty of good food places dotted around Alvor as well as along the beach. We would definitely book this apartment again, especially as the owner was so obliging & friendly.

Amazing
Wow What can I say :) Had a fantastic stay at Chris and Jackie's apartment over Easter. Its in an ideal location only short walk to Alvor harbour and its restaurants. Everything on your doorstep. Jacquie met us and showed us everything she was great . Thanks again Chris for letting us stay and we hope to return again soon

Excellent location, for the beach and the town, a definite home from home , it was imaculately clean on arrival and had everything you could need. The owner was very good to deal with and always responded promptly to any our enquiries. Just back from a great stay at the apartment. Really comfortable and in a great position for the beach and centre of Alvor. Supermarket just up the road and spoilt for choice for restaurants and bars just a stroll away! We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone!

Accommodation is excellent very well equipped and as described by owner.
Excellent accommodation, everything you need for a self catering holiday, just pack your clothes and essentials everything else is there, including TV with all the British TV channels plus sky sports. A really nice pool on site with plenty of sunbeds.The apartment is ideally placed for the main village and beach, both only 5 minutes walk plus various bars and restaurants on your doorstep and a good supermarket close by to. Met by the lovely Jackie who looked after us and nothing was too much of a problem. All in all definitely recommended.

Fantastic apartment in ideal location *****
WOW !!! Just returned from a week at this fabulous apartment in Alvor.
Every need is catered for within the apartment and the complex is stunning and first class. The property was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Chris the owner is friendly and very approachable and answered any questions we did have regarding our stay. The apartment is ideally located for both the town and the beach and stunning Estuary. It really is a stunning resort and has lots to offer and we hope to return again sooner rather than later

A genuine 'home from home'
We've just returned from what has been the most fantastic holiday that we could possibly have hoped for. The apartment is stunning and we felt instantly 'at home' there. The facilities at Vila Da Praia are perfect and we sincerely hope to be able to return there again next year after falling in love with the place.

Everything and more
Superb apartment in the best location in Alvor...lovely secure gated complex...if you like to lounge by the pool, this complex has a huge pool with plenty of loungers...the beach is 5 mins away...communication with Chris from start to finish was excellent...Jacqui in resort is a lovely lady and nothing was too much trouble, really made our holiday...a visit to her and Mark's restaurant Marcos is a must and just across the road...this apartment offers you everything, a real home from home, spotlessly clean and a wonderful balcony to enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon sun...highly recommend this apartment.

Great property close to town
The property had everything and more that you could hope for. It really was home from home. The air conditioning was a must and worked brilliantly. This is a compact apartment and really suited the three of us, it is on the second floor so good and safe and even though the balcony over looked a quiet road you felt very secluded when sitting out on it.
The only thing I would have loved was a lounger on the balcony as well as the table and chairs, but it would have been a tight squeeze alright. Plenty of loungers around the pool anyway!
The pool was absolutely brilliant and there is staff on duty at the pool. This was brilliant.
Five minutes walk from the centre of Alvor, what more can you ask for. Would definitely stay in this apartment again.

Brilliant Apartment, Great Location
We were met at the Apartment by Jackie, everything was sparkling clean and ready for us, nice kitchen with everything you need,nice balcony with table and chairs to enjoy breakfast or glass of wine in the evening before setting out,pool area excellent with plenty of sunbeds and brollies with a lovely pool all in a secure gated development.
A Big Thank you to Jackie who was really helpful with lots of tips regarding the area good supermarket 5 mins, restaurants,bars from 2 mins walk it could not be better, beach 5 mins , village centre with lots more restaurants,bars shops etc 5 mins walk.
We will be coming again to this apartment and would recommend to anyone
Chris was very helpful when booking and even put us in touch with a local taxi company for our transfers ( these were also excellent )

Large clean well decorated
We were met by Jackie the on site rep for this apartment and given a friendly tour of this large clean, well decorated apartment. The kitchen was well stocked with every thing you could possibly want to prepare and serve food. It is very handy for beach, shopping, restaurants and bars, while being peaceful at night.

Beautiful apt
This is first time in Portugal for many years. Alvor is an amazing town. Lots of beautiful fish restaurants. Really laid back . Food and people are wonderful. Apt is excellent. Everything catered for from toilet rolls to cool bags.dont want for a thing. Balcony is lovely in late afternoon early evening. Very handy for shops restaurants etc. five minutes walk only. Not like some advertisers who say five minutes and mean 20 minutes. Beach amazing. Must visit. We will be back again. Only down side are the extremely noisy dogs across road.

Perfect Place
We booked this apartment for a week in April, and can quite honestly say it is one of the best privately owned apartments we have stayed in. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, décor is lovely, very spacious rooms, very very clean. A very good supply of towels, beach towels and bed linen. Everything you would need in the kitchen, even though we didn't cook, too many lovely restaurants nearby. We spent a couple of afternoons on the balcony with a bottle of wine watching the world go by. The apartment complex its self is very well maintained, and location could not have been better, a very short stroll to the beach and Alvor village. Chris & Jackie who own the apartment were very swift answering any questions we had during the booking process, and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. The lady who looks after the apartment for them in Alvor, Jackie is a gem, she showed us everything we would need to know being a our first time in Alvor and was on hand if we needed anything during our stay. Well I could go on for ages, but I recommend you book and see for your selves. I have one complaint, and that is once you are there you won't want to leave. Thank you Chris & Jackie for a fabulous much needed holiday.

From the outset we were very impressed that the owners were ready to respond to our questions and were extremely helpful. On arrival we found the apt clean, and well maintained. I couldn't think of anything that we might have needed that wasn't available for our use. The balcony overlooked the town but we found this interesting and enjoyed the afternoon sun there. It was a pleasure to have breakfast there when it was still relatively cool.
The complex is safe and pretty with a lovely pool and plenty of loungers. We liked the fact that there were no bars or restaurants on site but happy that these were within easy walking distance.
Alvor itself is very picturesque particularly along the estuary- very quiet and peaceful during the day yet busy and lively at
night. We were there with our daughter, son-in- law and two young granddaughters( who stayed in another apt) so we didn't go far but know that there is a lot to see in the area as we have been sightseeing on previous visits.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this apt to others visitors.

We have been coming to this lovely, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean apartment for many years and it never fails to please.
The apartment is in a secure gated complex within easy walking distance of the beach and village with it's many shops, restaurants and bars. There is also a lovely pool with plenty of sun loungers.
Chris & Jackie always do their upmost to ensure our visit is enjoyable and trouble free and Jackie in Alvor is a star!

Lovely, clean, well equipped apartment. At the time of our visit, the pool was being re-tiled, but we were provided with passes for the pool down the road which was fab. It's close to the beach, local bars and about a 10 min walk to the main street. This apartment was recommended to me by a frequent visitor who had nothing but lovely things to say about it and I'm really pleased I listened to him!
The owners were very helpful with any questions and always answered promptly. Jackie, who looked after us was a star!

The owners have well-merited pride in their comfortable apartment, whch has all home comforts for a stay of any length. The gated complex is immaculately maintained, and the communal areas are a joy to use. For sunshine, the pool is a thirty-second walk from the apartment.
The location is convenient to both the village and picturesque harbour (a five-minute walk) and to the magnificent beach (a ten-minute stroll).
Chris and Jackie took every care to make our visit a pleasant experience. Their replies to our queries were immediate, and the arrangements with their local agent worked impeccably. Once in the apartment, we had no anxieties about any aspect of the holiday.
Alvor is a delightfully relaxing alternative to the more crowded and noisier resorts on the Algarve; VIla da Praia is a well-run gated complex which is excellently located for shops, restaurants, beach and harbour; this apartment is fully equipped and spotlessly clean.
We had a completely stress-free time in this quiet and easy-going community - all the locals mentoned the emphasis on good citizenship among the small population. Because of the thoughtfulness of Chris and Jackie, we were free to enjoy ourselves to the full. Many thanks!

From start to finish our dealings with the owners were fantastic. They arranged the airport transfers and ensured we were met on arrival at the apartment. The apartment was clean and albeit there were five of us, there was plenty of space. It is modern and well equipped. The complex is excellent, pool clean and plenty of room to sunbathe. Alvor is great, a real family resort, no drunks, no idiots. Can recommend a small bakery for a coffee, pastry and fresh orange juice for a couple of Euros. At night there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and not too expensive. So good, going back next year to the same apartment. Dave Baines

We had a lovely holiday in Alvor and Chris and Jackie's apartment is spacious and clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Vila da Praia is the best complex in Alvor! It feels very secure being gated, it has a lovely large relaxing pool which was never crowded and the location is fantastic, being only minutes from both town and beach. Alvor itself is the perfect holiday destination - lovely beaches, a great variety of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

The apartment was lovely clean and tidy, as was the complex, the pool was very busy but everyone was behaving,
Nice and close to all the local shops and resturants, easy walk to the 4km of golden beach.
