About this house rental
Join us on beautiful Saint George Island for healthy, fresh, salt air! Beach Paradise, updated after Hurricane Michael, is located within the St George Plantation features an open great room separating 2 bedrooms and a shared bath on each wing, making it perfect for two families vacationing together! Two large sliding glass doors feature expansive Gulf views and provide access to the large sundeck, perfect to lounge on to catch up on your reading with that needed ray of sunshine!
The two beachfront bedrooms have king beds and picture window views of the Gulf. One other bedroom has a king bed while the fourth bedroom has a queen bed. The sofa in the den will sleep two. All bedrooms have flat panel TVs with cable service and Netflix with your own account, and free wifi capable of streaming multiple devices.
Downstairs, a private boardwalk to the beach gives easy access to playing on the white sandy beaches of St. George Island, shore fishing for the days catch or a relaxing evening walk on the beach to watch the day's sunset (many of which are just spectacular!). There is a private outdoor shower for a quick cleanup after a day on the beach. A fish cleaning sink with running water to clean the catch of the day. Several beach chairs and a beach umbrella are supplied.
Beach Paradise is in the gated community of St. George Plantation. "The Plantation" has two olympic sized swimming pools, tennis/pickle ball courts and a fitness center. Paved bike paths stretch from one end of the island all the way to Dr. Julian G Bruce State Park - approximately 10 miles from end to end. It is about three blocks/.5 miles to the Plantation Clubhouse.
The "cable service" is via the YouTube TV app on the GoogleTV streaming device. The basic channels should be available with over 100 channels. Every TV should have the dongle attached to an HDMI port.
Please note that motorcycles and golf carts are not allowed in The Plantation when driven by rental guests.

Our 6th vacation to St. George Island. This was definitely a perfect location on the Plantation, ever so quiet and exceptionally clean! We even brought our little dog.

The location was great and the house was clean. We all felt that the deck was not very safe. Desperately needs to be replaced. Railing is very shakey and board are very old. The kitchen and living room had many soft spots that had been covered over with vinyl flooring. Shower curtains had mold and also the washing machine had mold on the inside of door. Glass sliding door was almost impossible to open. Enjoyed our stay but house definitely needs repairs.
House is over priced compared to other houses we have rented in this area.

Like other reviews have mentioned, the house does need a little TLC. Chipping ceiling paint and on some walls. With that being said, the house was very clean and comfortable. The views were beautiful. There wasn't anyone staying in either of the houses to the left and right of us so we had the whole beach to ourselves. We played pickleball every morning and met some of the neighborhood locals. All who were super nice. The pickle ball courts were under construction so they had one of the tennis courts converted which wasn't a big deal to us. The courts were a nice 2.5 mile bike ride which we made using the bike trails so we could gawk at the beautiful houses in the neighborhood. We had a loggerhead lay her eggs in the dunes right in front of the house so we got to speak to the turtle volunteers which was a bonus. There were beach chairs and toys for kids. They house had everything we needed. We had no issues and would definitely stay here again!

Just a wonderful week. The weather was great, the home was as advertized. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. Everything was super clean. Buck provided what we needed to make the week hectic free. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a great place for a great time.

House has a great layout and is in a really nice location on the beach / in the plantation. The owner is communicative and helpful and the price seemed good. However, the house has been 'ridden hard' and is below the standard that one should expect at this price point. Issues? Paint chipping and cracking, drywall falling off, shower head not working, fan in bedroom without bulbs and non functional, extra blankets dirty and smell like wet dog, sheets stained with coffee stains, washing machine loaded with mildew, stocked with bare minimum supplies (one roll paper towel, 3 garbage bags, 4 toilet paper rolls for a 1 week stay). There was surely some good, but renters should be aware of the 'bare minimum' approach to the property. There are so many basic things that could be done to make the stay more enjoyable.

We had the opportunity to do some more exploring of the Plantation area and with the home being centrally located within the community it allowed us to take off in any direction. You can’t beat the privacy and the Gulf being pretty much in your backyard!

We stayed at this property back in 2017 with our extended family and liked it so much we decided to come back this year.
We have rented other places in the area & in Cape San Blas but this place is our favorite. We invited our extended family but it ended up being just me, my husband and our 2 dogs. The check-in process was simple & getting onto the property was easy. The inside had been upgraded since we stayed last & it was nice having the washer & dryer in the house for ease of access. Kitchen appliances were available for all of our cooking needs the entire week & even though it's a distance to the nearest grocery store, that's what we liked. We felt like we had a private area & when we went to the beach, it felt like it was our own private beach. There were other families around us but we all had plenty of room to enjoy ourselves. The property supplied an umbrella for us to use on the beach to keep our fur babies in the shade when needed. They had a ton of other supplies that we didn't use since we didn't need them. The beach chairs were amazing (I might end up buying some of those same ones ourselves!). The only thing I could not find was a broom to sweep sand at the entry way. We tried our best to not track anything in but it's always inevitable. Everything was clean and we had plenty of bath towels. I brought dish soap from home & ended up not using it b/c it was supplied for us. We took walks in the area every morning & evening and talked with other people along the way. It was quite & not touristy feeling - which is what we love about the Plantation. This is our favorite home & we will definitely be coming back!

This place is great! My wife and I stayed for a week with our dog. We fished and cooked on the grill almost daily. House is great, spacious, comfortable, clean with all modern appliances. Everything you need was provided. Location is excellent. Beach is beautiful. We like quiet, especially when sleeping. This place has it. The only sounds at night are the waves. Host was excellent. We had few questions but he always responded very quickly. We'll be back!

We really enjoyed our time at this house. I am surprised at some of the negative comments in some of the reviews. I have no complaints about the house. Yes the deck is weathered but decks on the beach in Florida do that with the constant bombardment from sun, wind and salt. It’s just part of living at the beach. The kitchen is well equipped. We were glad to see the Keurig.
The communication with the manager was outstanding. The views are great from the living room and bedrooms. I really liked the deck to the beach. Not having steps but a gentle slope was super easy to roll a cart down to the sand. Caught whiting, sea trout and pompano in the surf. On both sides of the walkway deck to the beach the sea dunes are reinforced with sea dune fencing, sea oats and native plants. If you look at this house from the beach you will notice this house as a lack of erosion than other houses experience. Not only is the sea dune landscaping beautiful it’s protecting the dune quite well.
The layout was great for two families. We enjoyed it so much we booked a second trip before we checked out.

Buck (the owner – I’m Guessing) has a great property here for rent. She is a bit on the older side for the exterior, so be certain to wear your shoes on the porch. But aside from that, you get what you see in the pictures. View is exactly as pictured. I got to hold my daughter whilst we watched six dolphins go fishing in front of our balcony. Neighbors were all friendly. It is really easy to take the dogs for walks, as there are community garbage bins for doggy “leavings” every block. The interior was clean, and very well taken care of. It is obvious whoever runs the property takes pride in their work. We certainly enjoyed the advantages of being in a home, where we have laundry, and the ability to cook for ourselves. Also, the Plantation offers the amenities of two community pools. I think most people who are looking at Saint George, especially in the plantation, know what they are getting. This is a good spot if you are looking. A good question to ask is, “Would you go back?”, answer is, “Yes, would go back. Enjoyed tremendously.”
P.S. Anyone who is looking to take a trip back to the late 90’s early 00’s., please take a look at Buck’s DVD collection. It is Anne Heche levels of fabulous.

We loved this property. Steps from the beach and large deck for stargazing. Kitchen was very well stocked. Sea turtles nested on both sides of the house. It was an awesome vacation. Looking forward to staying at this property again.

Awesome property with a great beach. the only complaint we had was the condition of the deck. We spent a lot of time on the beach, but mornings and evenings were spent on the deck. The deck needs replaced, plain and simple! There were 7of us, and at some point
we all got splinters from the weathered wood on the deck.

Needs a lot of TLC!
We love staying inside the plantation. However, this is probably the most outdated house in the gates. The deck needs to be completely redone, we all have splinters from the deck floors, and railing. Picnic table on deck also had dried flaky wood, which will give splinters, so we couldn’t even use it. I understand that the sand dune to the left and right of beach against house can’t be touched, but the shrubs and plants growing on it could use a good cutting, bc you can only see the ocean from the direct middle, and absolutely no view of the ocean to the left and right sides. Sand dunes also kept the ocean from being seen from the bedrooms. There where several weak spots in the kitchen floors, bathroom ceiling vent in one bathroom was completely unattached from ceiling, flaking paint all around shower. I could go on.

Great location and good set up for two families
It is an older home in the Plantation section of SGI but the owner has been working on updating it. Walk down the deck to the beach which has very few people on it typically. Nicely separated bedrooms with a great space in the middle making it perfect for two families.

Trip to Gulfside
Overall highly satisfied with this property and the property manager. Great views of the Gulf and the outside vegetation gives you the feel of your own little private paradise. Though the outside of the house is dated, the open feel of the interior along with the updates to the inside more than make up for it. The view out the two large back sliding glass doors are nothing short of amazing. Property location was great as well, far enough away from the center of the island so it is very quiet, but also close enough that trips to restaurants and stores are not too far. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

Amazing beach & ocean view/access
We (including our two puppers) absolutely loved the house, ocean view, beach, beach access, and dunes. We were just steps from the beach and ocean while being surrounded by beautiful butterflies and dolphin views. The house layout was perfect for my wife and I on one side of the house and my mother-in-law on the other. The beds slept well and the linens were nice. The house was very clean and felt very welcoming for us and our two dogs. We truly enjoyed our visit and felt like we had the beach to ourselves. I rented a bike and rode the beautiful bikes trails on the island. Communication with the owner was great, especially compared to the first house we inquired that never returned our communication. We are so glad they didn't and we found Beach Paradise. We plan to return.

Another Great Week at SGI
This is the fifth property we have rented so we have many references. This property is older but don't let that fool you. You have everything you need in the right place and in good condition. Also has a utility room full of beach toys and accessories for your enjoyment. Would highly recommend for anybody that does not absolutely need one bathroom per bedroom.

Beautiful location!
Loved the short walk to the beach and the house being all on one floor. The coffee pot wasn't working. We called and a brand new coffee pot was delivered within hours. During a tropical storm! The house is old and needs to be updated, but was comfortable. Back deck needs refinishing and needs more outdoor furniture. Kitchen was well stocked. We loved our time here.

My husband and I, three of our daughters, our three grandsons and one boyfriend. had a great week staying at this house. We love the location, the 24 hr gated community added to our ability to relax. We love,love,love the bike trails. We rented bikes and a kayak and they were delivered right to our door. (amazing!) The bike rides with my grandkids and girls were great! I guess the only negative thing, would be that the house could've been a little cleaner. It's the beach! We loved it! We had a great time though. Made some great memories here. Thanks for renting the house!
