4.8
Off the beaten track, we loved the silence
We loved the very large garden, and the dogs did too
The Barn was so comfortable
Walks from the door
If you want a holiday away from everybody else this is an ideal place, but not extremely isolated
4.8
property is in an amazing position. Bit isolated especially when the weather is really bad, but with the conservatory that did not matter.
4.8
Really special house and location perfect if you’re looking to get away from it all. The views are fabulous and the whole area is simply stunning. We will be back!
4.8
Relaxation, peace and pure tranquillity. If you need some head space this is perfect.
4.8
Such an amazing property.Great information given by the owners. Everything provided that would be needed.
4.8
The only thing I would like to say is the difficulty in finding the barn. Could not something be posted by or near the finger point relating into the roadway down? The Vinnecombe Farm sign was also extremely difficult to locate, it was surrounded by the the foliage of the hedge it is in.
Otherwise, apart from the appalling weather we had whilst there, we were extremely impressed by the place and would have no hesitation in going back, or recommending to friends. The views were staggering and the peace and tranquility of it all were wonderful. A truly magical experience for us both, many thanks again.
4.8
There are some great walks from here and some great pubs.
Walk from the house and follow it down the valley, then up the other side of the road down to Dulverton - great views and a lovely walk.
The Royal Oak at Luxborough for example do great Sunday lunches and midweek meals
The Driftwood Cafe at Blue Anchor is a great visiti right on the sea front.
4.8
The view and garden are amazing.
We had a couple of warm sunny evenings as sat outside the conservatory door, it was a highlight of the week.
The barn is very cosy, the wood burner is so efficient and a pleasure on a chilly wet evening
I loved the stable door in the upstairs bedroom and opened the top door every morning
The desk upstairs was perfect to work at for a few hours every morning.
I highly recommend Woods Bar in Dulverton for a meal and a trip to Dunster.
The noodle bar at Porlock Weir is also excellent for a takeaway on the beach
Really enjoyed our stay - thank you
4.8
The view from the conservatory and garden is fabulous.
4.8
This is a lovely barn conversion and location which had everything. Be aware that the property is at the end of a very steep drive which can be challenging to get out of at first. Great to walk if you're fit!
4.8
This is a lovely, comfortable place to stay, and good to have milk, tea, coffee and cake on arrival! The conservatory is a great place to relax, take in the wonderful views and watch the wildlife. We even had a hedgehog in the garden. The barn is really well equipped and I always love to see books and games provided as well as maps, books of walks and lots of information on places to visit. This is a perfect location for anyone who loves the countryside, walking and wildlife.

This visit was our 14th visit to the Barn. We go every year and have only missed one year due to covid.
We've seen our children play as teenagers there and for the last two years our grandson Max has been with us. It's our special place.
If you want somewhere to just relax, to stop the treadmill and get off...this is the place.
4.8
This was our third Xmas at the barn and it never disappoints. We had a great family Xmas and managed a walk on Exmoor every day despite the weather.
We hope to return in the future.
4.8
We had an amazing stay - the cottage is very comfortable and had everything we needed and more, the garden is a great size and our dogs had a great time playing in it, the views from the back of the cottage are breathtaking. It is the perfect place to unwind, relax and recharge. We would certainly stay there again!
4.8
West Huckham is a lovely, comfortable barn in a great location and with views to die for. The garden was very popular with my two dogs and the barn was well equipped and cosy, despite the wet and windy weather. I hope to be returning sometime soon.
4.8
Wonderful spacious and comfortable kitchen/dinning/sitting area with brilliant log burner. Amazing rural location and view. Perfect for Dogs. Star gazing from bed. Walk from the door or walk a different, lovely 7 mile round every day within a 15 minute drive of the cottage.
4.8
A lovely property and we enjoyed the available facilities with a great view from the conservatory. The down side was the dust on some of the surfaces and the old cobwebs when we arrived eg on the area where the stereo was and on the light fittings above the dining table. There was also a damp issue in the bed nearest the front door. You can see the discolouration on the brick wall. Get this attended to and it’s five stars.
