This charming Retreat is comprised of two separate rooms and a bathroom. There is on large studio room with a king-sized bed, as well as a fully equipped kitchenette, cozy seating and dining areas, a 43" flat screen TV, cable, and Wi Fi. The second room has two twin beds and 2 comfy chairs. Both sleeping areas have an Armoire, exterior windows with daylight shades, and privacy doors. The bathroom has a large double sink counter, shower/bath combination, hair dryer, and fully equipped with toiletries, plush towels and washcloths. There is a wall thermostat in the Retreat enabling the guests to control the air or heat. We also provide a heater, fan, extra pillows and blankets. Our Retreat is decorated with local art and a modest library. Guests have no steps from their car to the entrance or in the Retreat itself. There is a labyrinth of steps if you desire to take an optional stroll down to the babbling brook.
You will have access your own back porch with table and chairs overlooking a wooded area and a serene mountain brook. Perfect for having a hot or cool drink and enjoying the abundant beauty of the natural surroundings. You'll also likely see your fair share of wildlife, including deer and neighborhood wild turkeys. The property is located in close proximity to the Biltmore estate, Sierra Nevada, Flat Rock, and Tryon with fabulous hikes, zip lining, charming walks, and other outdoor activities nearby.
The house is non-smoking and will be cleaned once a week. The instructions on entering Mountain Brook Retreat will be given two days before arrival.

The property has a beautiful and peaceful setting surrounded by trees on the mountainside. Very clean property. Sharon was quick with responses and went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice stay.

We have stayed at this property before and it is as great now as it was the first time.

Sharon and Charles respected our privacy for the entire length of our stay. Beautiful backyard space and very peaceful. All essentials were provided to us which was another plus. The only compliant we had was the camera right outside our entrance because it takes away from the privacy factor. We somehow managed to lose their key on check out day and they told us not to worry about it which was nice of them.
Overall, great stay and their home location is a short drive away from multiple NC attractions.
Recommended if looking to book a place that is nearby the Asheville area.

We enjoyed the comforts of having a bedroom and an additional bed. I'm sure the view from the back is beautiful in the summertime. We actually didn't get to spend much time there, as we were sightseeing a good bit. I think this is an excellent choice for a young couple or possibly a couple with one or two children. For adults, it would be a little tight for more than one couple, as the largest bed is in the living area. Overall, it was a great stay!

My husband and I had a wonderful time and this property was perfect for our needs. Close to downtown Hendersonville & a short ride to Asheville and state parks for hiking, this property was perfectly appointed. The property manager was quick to answer any questions prior to our trip and accessible had we had questions during our stay. Thank you Sharon! We will definitely keep your property in mind for future trips to the mountains.

We needed to get away from Florida Heat and it was our Anniversary as well. The Host surprised us with balloons, flowers, a cake a sweet card congratulating us. The home was so very comfortable and you would not want for reading material. The view from the deck was so relaxing. I can't say enough good things about our stay and hope to visit again in the future.

This was our first VRBO stay and it didn’t disappoint! Very clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and a gorgeous Back yard to enjoy the brook babbling after a day of adventures in the area. We enjoyed Asheville and pisgah sliding rock and a lush hike up to Moore Cove Falls, The kids enjoyed hanging at the creek at close by Bill Moore Park. Check in was easy and Sharon was always speedy to respond to any questions and had some great tips for the close by area. Everything you may need is at the house, and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer home away from home. If you are adventurous, do go to Green River Adventures for a kayak down the upper green river. It was awesome! Thank you for having us, we made some great memories.

Mountain Brook Retreat was very roomy, comfortable and clean. The owner has thought of everything. The property is secluded, but very easy to get to and if very convenient to Hendersonville and Asheville. We will definitely be staying here again!

My husband and I stayed there for our 22nd waiting anniversary. The hosted so much to make it a wonderful anniversary. The house is beautiful and there is plenty to do. I cannot wait to stay again. Next time I will take my two grandkids because there were also twin beds along with the wonderful comfy cozy king size bed.

This place is very clean, well decorated, cozy, private, and full of amenities to make your stay perfect! Seems like a very safe neighborhood and close to stores and restaurants. Highly recommended! You won’t regret!

This property was beautiful, comfortable, and had everything you need. It was too cold to explore the backyard area but we loved to look out at it every morning while we ate breakfast. The hosts provided lots of extras. We did not encounter any problems. Everything was exactly as stated. Would definitely stay there again.

My friend who flew from Chicago for a weekend with me and I had a wonderful stay in this cute place. Even though it poured down rain the main day we were there, there was plenty of space for each of us to read, rest and just catch up with each other. We didn't get to enjoy the stream at the bottom of the stairs in the back yard, so we are planning to come back when the weather is warmer. Sharon and Charlie are wonderful hosts and we highly recommend their place for a visit to the Smokey Mountains - or just to rest and retreat.

A truly spectacular location, especially to view the fall foliage! The furnishings were very tasteful and comfortable, and our hosts added so many special touches! We had easy access to nearby wineries and local shopping and restaurants. A purely relaxing, wonderful stay!

I was on vacation and coming into town for a mountain bike race - we realized all of the hotels were booked for the whole weekend, but were happy to see this available for a similar price to the weekend rate of hotels (with fees/taxes). I honestly didn't expect it to be quite as nice as it was - this was the best experience I've had! It's basically a full apartment...I could just straight up live there if it had laundry. Thanks so much to the owners for opening their home up to us!

My husband and I were so happy with our accommodations at Mountain Brook Retreat. It was exactly as listed. It was the perfect size for the two of us. The bed was luxurious and the seating in the living area was so comfy. Everything we needed was supplied and we so appreciated the snacks and coffee Sharon was great to communicate with and responded quickly. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Even though this is essentially a basement apartment, the setup makes you feel like you’ve got the whole property to yourself. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the hummingbirds. The TV is updated from the one in the listing. It’s a good size and connects to wifi. Bring your roku or fire stick. Internet is available but not super duper fast. Cable tv is clear and fast. There is an extensive library of books. I wish I had stayed longer to read more! Everything is nice and clean. The shower faucet is tricky. Pull the faucet ring down (where the water comes out) to make the water shift and come out the shower head. Twin bed mattresses are super firm. Bedding on master bed is plush. Bathroom is nice. Only minor complaint is that you can hear the homeowners walk above you. I recommend a sound machine. You can only hear them around dinner hours. They are very quiet in the morning and after dark. Would definitely stay here again!

Spacious beautifully decorated basically 2 bedroom apartment. Clean, well stocked, and the sweetest host. We are trying to make this an annual trip and if so we will stay here every time. Beyond anything we imagined.

I chose this property after reading prior reviews and I am glad I did. It really makes a difference when you don't have to worry about taking the basics when renting properties...hand soap, paper towels, dish detergent, etc. The snacks and drinks were an appreciated added touch. I enjoyed the window view each morning from the breakfast table. The property was very cozy and comfortable for the 4 of us. I would stay here again and would recommend this property to others. We loved how cozy, well-decorated, clean, and maintained the place is! It was very easy to arrive and check in. My kids enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss's collection and walking down in the backyard, and we loved sleeping well in a great bed and quiet place, and the kitchen well equipped made our lives easier. We highly recommend this place!

Beautiful place in a great location
We stayed at the Mountain Home Retreat at the beginning of November 2021. The rental is great for both adults and any children they might happen to have with them. The location is perfect for visiting Chimney Rock/Lake Lure, the NC Arboretum, Biltmore Estate and more.
The hosts were very friendly and made themselves appropriately available. We would definitely stay at this location again.
