I rent the cabin for the new year week. The cabin requires about 100 yards of walking due to the snow in the winter. It is a little tiring to carry all the stuff on foot. But the view from the cabin is beautiful and worth every ouch of it.
The cabin has some wear and tear but the owner is very nice and responds to my questions/requests very quickly. I will definitely go back again.

The house was huge and the snow was amazing for the kids. Overall experience was great! I would definitely recommend this place and we will go again!! We had a blast and the space was perfect for 15 of us!

Great house for large group
The house is in a great location and is very comfortable for a group. We enjoyed the renovated kitchen and made use of the many games on the game shelves.

Decent Stay for Last Minute Booking
Decent Stay for Last Minute Booking. There was plenty of parking in the summer months but not sure about winter months. Super close to Bear Valley which was great. The house was not as clean as I would like it because the babies or anyone who wasn't wearing a shoe inside the house had black feet by the end of the day. The worst part was there was no trash service, so we had to take the trash out to Bear Valley daily which was inconvenient. Other than that, the cabin served our needs and was decent for being last minute.

Beautiful Home-Challenging Parking
First off, I’d like to say that this home is beautiful. It is huge, with 5 beds per room (4), just in the upstairs area. There also 2 full baths. Once the lower level ( full 2nd kitchen, living area, bedrooms, laundry area, etc.) is renovated this home is going to be a dream!
We traveled with our 5 year old and 2 year old and there was plenty of space to run and play, plus the perk of having a literal snow park in our front/side/back yard.
The WiFi was fast and the movie/TV selections were perfect for my littles.
It is about 30 mins from downtown Arnold and about 15mins south of Bear Valley Resort and Ski Area.
The owner, Jill, is AMAZING!!! She went the extra mile (literally) when the pipes froze the morning we were supposed to check in. She traveled up to the home to make sure we would have running water upon arrival.
The home was clean and I did not get that “ewww icky” feeling that you can sometimes get with rentals.
Now… the downsides.
There is little to Zero cell service once you hit Arnold. There is WiFi in the home, so make sure that your cell phone plan is set up for WiFi calling.
The biggest downfall of this home 😩THE ROADS ARE NOT PLOWED AND THERE IS NO ASSIGNED PARKING🤦🏻♀️.
Two homes are permanent residence who each have two cars. There is no where else to park in that lot, without having to dig out your own spot. When we arrived at the home it was pitch black out and the snow was deep! Having to haul
in a sleepy two year old and 4 days worth of meals, snow gear, etc. in the freezing cold from quite a distance( which I’m sure is not quite the haul without the snow), was pretty challenging.
Now back to the parking. We had parked in front of another car, but allowed for ample space for the other cars to move in and out of their spaces. In the pitch black, even if we’d known to dig our own spot, there was no way to see at that point anyways, so it wouldn’t have happened. The next morning (8am) neighbors came to tell us to move, explaining that there was no parking for renters unless we dug our own spot…. This was definitely not how we planned on spending the first morning of our trip… but it was what it was.
We did what had to be done and dug out our own spot…. Just to have it taken by a renter that arrived after we had gone snowboarding that day. 😡 after the 2nd time digging out a spot, we were over it 🤦🏻♀️

Great place!
Very clean, well stocked, tons of beds! One tip would be to bring a flash light when checking in after dark. Definitely would go again :)

Great stay
this is our second time staying at the property. We all love it and will definitely try to come back. It’s a great location, close to the highway but totally secluded. We got so much snow this time and the kids had a blast. It’s a really comfortable house and everything is well organized. Everything is clean, the heat works super well and it’s a great space for family to enjoy some days in the snow. I also appreciated the fast Wi-Fi

Spacious winter retreat
The house is modern and easily accommodates a big group. Staying on the second level is nice in deep snow since there is still natural light.

Great winter getaway!
This cabin was perfect for the entire family, very spacious and comfortable. It was great to have a snow park right outside your door. Location was not far from us at all and not hard to find. Jill was a great host and communicated all the details regarding our stay ahead of time,, she even let us check in earlier than what was established which was phenomenal considering we left really early to prepare in case weather conditions would delay our transit. The only thing negative that I would say was the parking situation was not ideal, there is no plowing up to the cabin so you have to park out in the road and walk up to the cabin. There was so much snow and the trek up and down with items made it a little exhausting and the neighbors were not friendly at all and gave us grief when we only had ONE car parked out front the rest of our vehicles parked at Bear Lodge and it was a pain having to drive there daily to shovel our cars out and move them to follow plow schedule. But overall the cabin itself is wonderful, we do plan to return just more prepared 😉 Would recommend.

Perfect summer getaway!
We had such a fabulous time staying at this property! Plenty of room for our family of 11, super comfortable beds and pillows, with ceiling fans for each room. Kitchen was stocked with condiments and every utensil and appliance we needed for our stay. Stargazing was an added bonus and was an amazing experience. House was comfortable and welcoming and we all enjoyed our stay immensely. Thanks, Jill!

Perfect Home and Location for our group of friends!
This home is set up perfectly for group travel. Each room has a regular bed and bunks so each family had their own space and we didn't have to bring cots for the kids. There a great variety of games and videos available, plenty of towels and linens, the kitchen is well stocked with modern appliances and dishes. Lake Alpine is a short drive away. It is a beautiful lake and family friendly. I would suggest getting there early if you go on a Saturday as parking was difficult in the afternoon. We spent every night sitting on the rocks at the side of the house star gazing. Communication with Jill was always pleasant and she responded very quickly to all of our questions. We stayed with a group aged 10-68 and everyone had a blast! Thanks, Jill!!

Wonderful, comfortable cabin perfect for Lake Alpine
We had a great time staying at Eagle Lane. The property, while off the road, is easy to find if you follow the instructions. This is a very comfortable cabin, filled with plenty of comfy beds and cushy couches; beautiful rustic decor; a huge array of board games, dvds, and even some video games. We comfortably fit 8 people, and there were beds for more! The hostess is quick to respond and very accommodating. I highly recommend this rental for your next trip! Lake alpine is a quick 10 minute drive away, so I would highly recommend you schedule that in for any trip here.

Fantastic place to stay
This place gets an A+++ from us . Closer to lake alpine than I thought(just minutes away)…..has everything you need for a fantastic family vacation time. Star gazing at night was incredible. Highly recommended for large groups.

Great stay in the snow
This property was a great destination. We enjoyed having snow right outside the cabin and there's a great big boulder out back that makes a sledding hill.

Snow much fun!
Our family especially enjoyed playing in the snow in the yard. So many possible sled/tube runs! The number of beds was great for a large group, but we were just one family, so it had a spacious feel for us. We loved the location for its proximity to the ski resort and the tubing place. We are excited to come see what it’s like there in the summer. Communication with the host and the check-in and check-out process were excellent.

Wonderful cabin
This house has an absolutely perfect location close to the Highway but very secluded at the same time. There’s a great sledding hill right in the front, where our kids had hours of fun. It’s a nice and spacious property, with everything you need inside. It’s good for larger groups especially and kids will really enjoy the bunkbeds. Jill was an absolute pleasure to communicate with. Originally booked it for the summer, but the wildfire smoke prevented us from coming up so she made it very easy for us to reschedule for the winter. We will hopefully be back!

Snow Fun
Plenty of room, peaceful and well stocked kitchen! The kids were outside in the snow from morning into the evening. They used the sleds but also their snowboards. Perfect hill for learning! Close to Bear Valley so a few of the more experienced snowboarders went on the lifts.

Loved it, will stay again!
Spent a few days with family which included 4 kids. You cannot beat the location, snow play is right out the door! Fully stocked, would recommend updating frying pans and cleaning refrigerator prior to guest stay. Lots of Space, warm and clean bedding. Heater worked great! Awesome owner who is very accommodating with great communication. Would love to stay again and plan to return! Wonderful few days spent with family in a magical location!

The cabin was great. It has all you need for a week stay, all you need is food ;-). everyone enjoyed the stay, there is a park close by for skiing. but no need to go, younger kids had a blast just outside of cabin. Thank you Jill.

Our second trip!! Great Cabin
Jill Is a great host and the house is perfect and love the deck off of the living room. We had a vehicle break down and Jill was extremely helpful and let us leave it overnight a day after we had to check out. Thank you again Jill!!

Beauty in the mountains
It was a wonderful place to stay, plenty of space to stretch out. Beds were so comfortable my kids didn't want to leave. Enjoyed the porch. The house felt homey but not cluttered or dated. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay!
We had an amazing time. Everyone's first initial reaction was "Wow!" It was beautiful inside and out. Everything was organized, ready for use, and easy access. It was spacious for a big group and there were no issues with bed and room arrangements. The lake being so close was so efficient and made our time here better. There's so much games and activities for family and kids to enjoy. We will definitely be coming back!

NIce get away in Bear Valley
Wonderful place, great location. The only bummer was hiking in our stuff in the dark through the snow...however, once we were in was nice and private. HOpe to come back soon!

super place for a family get away!
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin! Very convenient location to get to Bear Valley (5 min drive) and great opportunities for snow play right outside the cabin (easy with young kids). The bedrooms with bunks were a big draw for us since we had multiple families; even with the bunk beds, the rooms felt spacious enough. We did run into a problem on the first day with one of the toilets getting clogged; we were not able to unclog it with the plunger so we reached out to Jill (owner) via email. She was very responsive and ultimately dispatched her father & brother to snake the pipe when she was unable to find an available plumber. They promptly drove up (from Stockton!) that day and quickly fixed the toilet (yay!). Both were super nice and even gave some of us a quick tour of the renovations they're doing on the bottom floor. It was a little tricky finding the correct turnout - the Tamarack Lodge landmark was not clearly marked, but once you know it's the lodge, it is, indeed, the 2nd turnout. The walk from the turnout to the cabin was very manageable, even with young kiddos in tow (4yrs and up). This is a great house for multiple families or a a family reunion. Such a great alternative to Tahoe (the area has a relaxed vibe and is much less busy/crowded). We will be back again!

Amazing snow cabin for families!
We stayed at this cabin for 3 nights with 11 people. It was a really wonderful experience! There were tons of beds- at least one queen/king and one set of bunk beds in each of the four rooms. There was a big table that was great for big group meals, a well stocked kitchen for cooking, and plenty of seating in the main living room area. There were plenty of clean linens and towels, and the amenities were great- instant hot water in the showers, multiple entertainment options, a bookshelf full of games and DVDs, etc. The BEST part of the cabin was that it was on a big snowy hill, with many sledding trails already packed down. Our 4 kids had a phenomenal time sledding, making snow men, throwing snowballs and snow shoeing. The cabin came with a lot of snow toys for them. It's a very short drive to Bear Valley for skiing and dining as well. Jill, the owner, was so warm and responsive. It was really a very comfortable and happy stay for all of us. The only tougher part (and it's because we were there over a holiday), was that parking was sparse. But thankfully there's another lot about 100 yards up the road. Would definitely rent it again!

Beautiful location and stocked for the winter!
Finding this place was a godsend. 4 families each with 2-3 kids and still room to spare!
This place was jam packed with goodies for the kids. Between the Wii, Blu-ray, Amazon box and hall closet stocked with toys and games the kids were in heaven. Not to mention the plethora of boats, sleds and outdoor toys available.
Super clean and tidy, felt more like a hotel than a B&B and the ease of access and clean up was awesome as well.
Only a few miles to the lakes and Bear Valley Ski Resort, could not have been a better fit for what we needed.
H recommend, especially if you have multiple families.

Wonderful winter cabin
We stayed four families and had a great stay at Jill's winter cabin. The house is about 200 yards from the road and the walk through the snow is very idyllic. The place is big with lots of beds and a large family room. We enjoyed the new kitchen and the cozy gas fireplace. When we arrived it had just snowed a couple of feet of snow, so we had to shovel a short path to get in. The cabin feels really remote and the drive up to Bear Valley resort is only 15 mins away. The cabin is well-stocked but it'd be great to have a proper mud room to dry our wet clothes and the parking is limited to 2-3 cars. Overall, we had a great weekend and really enjoyed the cabin.

Absolutely awesome well equipped home!
The house more than met our expectations. It was well equipped to serve sixteen people, the kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable. The was plenty of linens, towels, snow toys (toboggans & saucers) board games, dvds and more. Our children were pleasantly surprised to find a wii & games. The living room fireplace was warm and inviting & at the of the day we enjoyed having a tv with Netflicks and more. The kids enjoyed walking out the door to toboggan. There was so much to do for everyone: skiing, tubing, cross country skiing and more. Jill, the owner, was very friendly and helpful with our needs. We are definitely going back next year.

A Great cabin for 4 small families with kids
We spent here 4 days at Christmas, 2018. The cabin is very suitable for small families with kids: it had 4 bedrooms that had the same size and each of them was private (had an entrance from a hallway). We had 8 adults and 5 kids 6-11 years old. I think it would be OK to have some more kids - there were plenty of bunk beds :) . Most of all, we loved that kids played outside of the cabin in the snow! They built a snow slope and enjoyed it all for days. The kitchen had a lot of stuff - we found all we needed and much more. Also, there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms. Everything was in the great condition and very clean, except the gas fireplace (we tried to flow the provided instruction, but did not figure out how to turn it on). We also loved the location: only a couple miles from the Bear Valley Ski Resort (we did snowboarding) and a cross-country ski center (the trails were so beautiful)! We also find a lot of board games and snow toys and some slides for kids in the cabin - kids loved them. We are thinking to come back in the Summer to enjoy the Lake. We had some problems with parking: parking spots in the snow winter are very limited here and we were able to park only one or two cars. So, I would recommend trying to come using the only one or two cars in the winter if you want really enjoy your time here :) Free parking was available in the Bear Valley, but we needed to repark our cars every day in a specified time. But in general, we had a really great time here!
