About this cabin rental
Looking for that cozy place for you and up to 3 more friends/family? Look no more as the ‘Barn’ is the perfect spot for smaller groups. Located at the South end of Spearfish Canyon and walking distance to Cheyenne Crossing, you’ll enjoy paved road access but still have plenty of privacy. Your next home away from home is on an open lot with plenty of parking for trailers filled with your snowmobiles and ATVs and easy access to the local trail systems. You also get access to the garage during the Sturgis Bike Week! There is no access to the garage except for during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in early August.
Inside this newly built Barn, you'll find a modern kitchen, a comfortable living area, one bedroom, and a full bathroom. The bedroom has a queen bed, and we do have a queen sized air mattress for the living room. You'll enjoy this space while on your next vacation!
While on your travels, you can be in Deadwood in 15 minutes, Spearfish in 20 minutes, Sturgis in 30 minutes and down to see Mount Rushmore, Keystone, and Custer in just under an hour. There are smooth roads through the trees with wondrous views in all directions while endless adventures await. Feel like a little golf? Lead Country Club is 5 minutes from the property, and local fly fishing is practically out your door! Location was perfect for us....quiet area in the evenings away from the tourist hot-spots and close to the areas we wanted to explore this trip. Interior is decorated nicely and was extremely clean. We spent most evenings sitting outside on the patio area soaking in the beautiful view of the pines. Two things that caused me to rate overall at 4 stars instead of 5: Mattress is way past its prime and needs to be replaced, and the wifi is weak at best, sometimes not working at all.

This little cabin was a wonderful place for us on this short trip. It was very clean! We were riding our ATVs all day, so we really didn’t need a lot of space to chill. We saw deer in the yard every morning. The kitchen was well-appointed, though the can opener needs to be replaced. We appreciated that there were plenty of bath towels, sheets, pillows and blankets. The mattress seems a bit worn, but I’ve slept on worse. Another thing I want to be sure to mention is the front door automatically locks. Fortunately, the first time it happened, one of us was inside, while the other two were unloading the vehicles, so we didn’t get locked out.

It was our first trip away from our kids in 3 years and it was the perfect setting! Comfy and cozy little barn and very clean! Perfect accommodations for everything. Even had board games and decks of cards which you don’t see!

We stayed at the Barn rental for a week at the beginning of June. The Barn was easy to find, very well maintained and decorated, and in a area easily accessible to all the places we wanted to go. We were hauling SxS on a long trailer and we found that we weren't able to park our truck and trailer on site, but luckily just down the road at the intersection of Cheyenne crossing there was a place we could park and left the truck there all week. We were able to ride the SxS everywhere from the Barn, including Mount rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer park, Deadwood, spearfish canyon, etc . The only issue we had was folding the hideaway sofa when we left, our son had been sleeping there all week, and we had trouble folding it back into sofa position. We did enjoy the fact that there was a washer and dryer for us to use since we were there for a solid week. Cheyenne crossing just down the road had a delicious breakfast menu.

Wonderful and Relaxing!
Our stay at the barn was wonderful. We felt immediately at home once I stepped into the rental. Beautiful decorations and the place is so well-kept and clean, we loved every detail. We arrived after the sun set and woke up to beautiful views with pine trees lining the street and quietness all around. We absolutely loved walking the road. We are avid hikers and wanted to avoid the snow, so the road was the second best option. Beautiful scenery and homes. We also loved having Cheyenne Crossing so close by, excellent food and great customer service. Sled Haus was our second favorite place to eat that's located in Lead. Authentic German food, at their twice and loved it! The Hills has a special place in our hearts. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Budi!

Our stay at Cheyenne Crossing
The barn apartment was very nice. Everything as it seemed online. Just a couple things could be improved upon. The coffee pot needs to be replaced because it’s takes about 3x longer to brew than other pots. The place was quite buggy. I would recommend have pest control out there at least in the summer months. Lots and lots of Daddy Longlegs😖😖😖 Also the driveway is very narrow. Pretty hard to get a pickup with trailer in and out. Other than these few things it was a very nice place to stay.

My son and I really enjoyed our time at the Barn, it was a good place to come back to after exploring. The place was comfortable for the two of us, quiet, but not too isolated. We ventured out to the Badlands and Devil's Tower but the scenery and wildlife right there near Cheyenne Crossing was impressive.

If you're looking for a cozy little get-away in the hills then the Barn is for you. Perfect size for 2 people, but our family of 4 made it work just fine. It is not secluded; there are neighbors close by, but a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The cabin is clean and nicely remodeled. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking and eating essentials which was great for us since we cooked and ate all of our meals there. We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely stay again!
