Beautiful spot for a quiet stay with our children and grandchildren.

It is an extraordinary place with all you need to enjoy the traditional Maine beach experience! The cottage was clean and comfy. It is a must-do if you want to spend some time on the coast of Maine. It will become a tradition for us every year!

we love the location, it is private. Love the front porch. We enjoy walking out in the bay at low tide. for three years the family renting next door have been there. Their three children are similar in age to our grandchildren and the kids are in and out of the house, sleeping in the tent, and playing games. It is fabulous.

Wonderful trip, despite the weather!

Stayed at this property before. It is comfortable and my family loves the feeling of having the cove and beach to ourselves. The views are lovely, as was our stay.

We love the lawn space for games and a tent. The view from the porch of the bays in front and to the right are spectacular. The beach, the rocks, a beach, the rocks, and more beaches are a lot of fun for adults and grandchildren. A daily walk out on the mud flats at low tide towards the ocean is refreshing and amazing. It is a good mile out and back and you could walk further. Lots of shells on the beach. Arising the first morning to a steaming cup of coffee while rocking on the porch is my favorite moment of the day. Our grandchildren (3) and the children next door (3) play together constantly and have much fun exploring and playing games.

With high tide came beautiful view
Property was pleasant with beautiful views.

Cleanliness was less than desired and the poor quality of water really made the stay less than fun
The property was great however the issue with the sulfur smell in the water ruined the fun of the whole stay. Plus the lack of cleanliness

Lovely location. Private beach was fantastic. Cottage has all the necessities. We so enjoyed the screened-in porch. We are 6, long term friends. This rental is also wonderful for families!
Our thanks to Lisa and Fred.

Beautiful views
We loved the fact we could be on the porch and be aware of where the grandchildren were on the beach and in the water. Walking across the bay and out towards the ocean during low tide was a great experience. Loved walking on the beach and along Kennebec Point road. Had plans to visit the Maritime Museum and the Botanical Gardens and didn't because it was just so nice where we were.

Relaxing retreat
Such a relaxing, quite cottage. Loved the accessibility to the water, and the wonderful views. The owner/Manger was helpful, and addressed any of our needs. I would stay here again.

Absolute R&R
Perfectly comfortable with lovely water views. Ideal for two couples since there is a bedroom upstairs and one downstairs. Note that the stairs to the second floor are quite steep so agility is needed! Loved this place!!

Nice house in a great coastal area
The Grey house was as described, plenty of room and a great screened porch overlooking the bay and ocean. We went clamming a few days and got plenty of pisser clams also a nice haul of chowder clams out by the ocean surf line. The only issues we had was the mosquitoes out in the yard they were ferocious the owner said they were supposed to spray but that never happened. Once you were on the beach no more mosquitoes. Also would be nice to have lobster crackers and mallets couldn't understand how you can have a Maine house in prime lobster area and have no crackers or mallets. The House needs some new windows and screens and ceiling fans would be a nice touch. Overall we would come back to this area again very relaxing.

Perfect Maine summer vacation location
We loved our stay at this quaint and comfortable summer home. It is the perfect place to vacation in an area that has some of the most beautiful beaches that Maine has to offer and it has it's own beach that is fresh and clean and completely wonderful. The home is well equipped with everything you may need in the kitchen and the owners have thoughtfully provided games, music and books with guest comfort in mind. We can't say enough about the beautiful view of the bay from the front porch!

Couldn't be happier!
Thank you, Fred, for your hospitality and a wonderful experience! Due to circumstances beyond your control, a glitch arose and you were able to overcome the situation quickly and without hesitation to insure the best possible experience for us. We are grateful that you are able to share your family's heritage and history with us, and we sincerely look forward to our stay in the Grey House next year!

Restful serene spot
We have rented for the last two summers. We love the porch. From coffee to cocktails it is so peaceful watching the bay. We love clamming, hiking out to the big ocean, getting our "cooked"
Lobsters from the general store- just a good overall Maine vacation. Enjoyed the new stove and electrical upgrades. Hoping for a few furniture updates soon.

Beautiful Setting
The Grey House is wonderfully situated for a Maine coast vacation offering swimming and boating on site as well as at neighboring beaches. Upon arrival we were delighted with the beautiful ocean views both from the interior living room bay window and the lovely screened-in porch and have been just as happy to stay put as we have been with our day trips exploring Maine's craggy peninsulas. Reid state Park with its dramatic rocks and surf is just down the road and for a vast sandy beach, Popham is the best! The house was a perfect size for our family reunion of four sisters, the kitchen well-equipped, and all our needs were well met. Thank you, Mr. Dalrymple, for sharing your house with us!

Beautiful views, serene, spacious and comfortable
Staying at the gray cottage is the highlight of our summer. We've gone there at least 7 years in a row and wouldn’t consider staying anyplace else in the region. The cottage is comfortable, quiet, spacious, well maintained and peaceful. It has everything we need. Fred and his family have always made sure that the place is well maintained and are very responsive to any need we've expressed. We especially love sitting on the screened in front porch that has a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean and bay at the mouth of the Sagadahoc River. I love spending time just looking out over the bay and watching the tides come in and out. There is a private beach and lots of time for just relaxing. The cottage is a short drive from Bath, Brunswick, Freeport, and Portland as well as to other beautiful mid-coast Maine towns. Staying at the gray cottage is a definite chill pill vacation that is totally relaxing and satisfying. We love it!

Wonderful place to stay
We had a wonderful time at Grey Cottage. The views were gorgeous and the house had everything we needed. It was a great place for our 2 year old grandson to play and for the adults to relax. Kayaking was great and the little beach was perfect. The area is beautiful and the screened front porch is awesome. We would definitely be interested in renting again.
