Delightful cottage in a lovely area
Delightful cottage in a lovely area
We didn't know what to expect as we approached our holiday home in Hythe. As we drove up the hill the surroundings became ever more agreeable, till we arrived at the cottage high on the hill in a quite, narrow lane, surrounded by a mix of beautiful old and new houses; then we knew we had struck it lucky. Although the cottage is small, as we guessed from the photos, it is very tastefully decorated and fitted out. It's obvious that Warren and Paola, who gave us a warm welcome, have devoted a lot of love and hard work to maintaining it. The kitchen has every amenity you could ask for. There's a lovely walk down to the town with views to the sea, past chocolate box cottages and a grand old church set in large grounds. The town itself is very pleasant, with a choice of decent restaurants and pubs. We found Hythe to be an excellent jumping off point for visits to the main Kentish attractions. There are also fast connections to London by train, which is an added bonus. All-in-all highly recommended.

The perfect holiday cottage in Hythe
The perfect holiday cottage in Hythe
The property was clean and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay over the weekend at the end of April. The owners are very friendly and were there on arrival to show us around. We loved the location for its great views and access into town down the steps outside the property. Parking was no problem either we found many spaces on the road above the one the property sits on, just a short walk away. We would definitely recommend this to other couples who are looking for a place to explore the lovely town of Hythe and the rest of Kent.

Perfect break
Perfect break
Had a perfect 3 night stay in The Old Stone Cottage. Warren met us and showed us round and explained where everything was and how heating etc worked. Everything looked brand new and so clean that we felt as if we were the first people to stay there. Lovely crisp white linen on the bed and soft white towels. The bed was so comfortable as were the pillows and so quiet - everything to make for a good nights sleep. Ten minute walk down to Hythe where there are some excellent restaurants and cafes. A steep walk back so think we returned home fitter than before we went. No parking directly outside the cottage as there are double yellow lines. Parking was available nearby. Weather was beautiful so we had a perfect stay in Hythe in a perfect cottage.

A Memorable Holiday
A Memorable Holiday
We have recently returned from 2 weeks in this delightful cottage. It was spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and very clever use was made of the limited space. The kitchen also, was very well equipped. It was a real bonus that we experienced some bright autumnal days which made for wonderful views from Dungeness to France. This enabled us to take advantage of several lovely walks in the vicinity in country or by sea. Hythe itself is a town of great historical interest with a good variety of shops and restaurants. This delightful dwelling will always be associated with the birth of our twin granddaughters for it was here that we stayed at the time of their birth. The two babes visited the cottage when they were 9 days old and made their presence felt! I cannot praise Warren and his family enough for making us really feel so much at home throughout our stay and it goes without saying that I would highly recommend Old Stone Cottage for a relaxing holiday.

Thank you so much...
Thank you so much...
...for a lovely and peaceful stay in this wonderful tiny cottage. We spent two weekes with our 12 years old son in a place where we felt like at home. Really everything was absolutely fine: the kitchen was best equiped (we were so pleased to have a dish washer and a washing maschine!), the sitting room so cosy and the beds were super comfy! A real little gem also with the little outside place where I usually sat to read a book and had a nice cup of tea. We had a fabulous time with visiting fantastic places like Canterbury, St. Margaret`s Bay, Sissinghurst and so more but Hythe itself is also a very beautiful place with the main street and its surroundings. And it just takes 15 minutes by foot to go to the sea. And it was so nice to have chats with the owners to got helpful informations (so sorry that we couldn`t met Paola, but perhaps the next time!) We have already recommended old stone cottage to our German friends, but we are sure to come back for another stay!

Lovely Cottage in picturesque seaside town
Lovely Cottage in picturesque seaside town
Old Stone Cottage is a perfectly equipped, impeccably clean little gem of a holiday home with antiques interiors and a seaview from the upper floor. Everything you need is provided for, and the hosts, Paola and Warren, are very supportive. It's ideally located in picturesque Hythe only a few steps from the lively High Street, where you find cafés, restaurants, pubs and many independant shops. Hythe itself, appart form being a bustling seaside resort (though without the amusements and the malt vinegar stench...), is also a good base for exploring Kent with many attractions within easy reach by car, bus, train or (very) miniature railway. There are also very good connections by train to London with Folkestone Central Station only a few minutes away. We did really enjoy our visit and would recommend the cottage to any of our friends and family. Gabi and Gerald from Rastatt, Germany

The Old Stone Cottage in Hythe, Kent, UK
We have been to Hythe 4 times. This was a wonderful visit and The Old Stone Cottage had a great deal to do with that. We felt like we had our own little home and wS it a delight ! There is a view of the channel from the bedroom and we could walk to High Street where all the shops, pubs and restaurants are. There are two excellent food stores. What a great find the little cottage was.
