The host was very very gracious and helpful, the house is beautiful and the arrangements are top notch! The host was also very very gracious, he sent back some of the things we had forgotten at the property. 10/10 would recommend

Charming property in a great location

Lovely, spacious, traditional house in a great location, close to food and transport. The house had everything we needed, the hidden secrets in the property were fun and the host was extremely helpful. We made great use of the bikes to see the sites.

Loved the accommodation and the location.

Property owner gave a good overview of things to see and do in Kyoto. Location was excellent, halfway between Nijo and Omiya stations (5 minute walk to either) and close to food, supermarkets, shopping, etc.

A couple of days in a traditional Japanese house

I loved the authentic experience. The host was nice and friendly to us, gave us a lot of useful suggestions and recommended where and when is best to go :)

Nothing really, just maybe the house is a bit too full of things for my personal taste. But everything was great :)

Exceptional

Extremely quiet residential neighborhood a short walk from Nijo Station and Omiya station. Bakeries, 7-11, and an excellent ramen shop very nearby. The host was exceptionally kind and thoughtful. It was a truly unique stay with a fun theme.

Overhead unremovable blue nightlight in kids' bedroom stays on all the time. Prohibited from using upstairs balcony or small backyard Zen garden, but clothes dried well on the indoor rack with the garden glass door open. Felt in danger of being kicked out for noise because we have a toddler and when teenagers walk up the wooden stairs it sounds like elephants ascending. Archways between doors and dining room shelves are at nose height if you are 6 feet tall, but that is common in older houses here.

Very comfortable and in great location!

Very good location, the host is very helpful and kind! Two different station are very close, walking distance from the house, as well as delicious restaurants. The house itself is very comfotable, amazing, suprising :) cozy, definetly worth to go back again! Everything what you need is right there! Kioto is a beautiful town, must see in Japan! Many thanks for the host for having such great place!

Exceptional

The house is a traditional japanese house with multiple rooms and all needed facilities. There are secret doors and nice decorations. Close to two bus stops and a railway station, it can be used as a central hub in Kyoto.

such a beautiful, spacious, cosy and unique house full of details. close to 2 metro lines and there are many stores and restaurants nearby. the staff is very welcoming, kind and informative. book it, you won’t regret it.

Superb

First days of our first trip to Japan and could not have asked for a better stay. Thought I had turned into a ninja by the time we left after a comfortable and well located accommodation.

Nothing wrong at all would go back gladly if in Kyoto again.

I would not stay here again. Actually I would think twice next time when booking airbnb.

The host is friendly and takes pride to his property. The property location is OK with 10-15 minutes walk to the subway

To be clear, this property charged reasonably with its offerings. I would classify this as a budget type of accommodation for family group that needs more space. To me I would not choose again due to: (1) when I choose an Airbnb while traveling with family, I focus on kitchen and laundry, neither of these two met my expectations. The kitchen is very small with limited offering that I do not think it can accommodate some cooking for a family group . The dryer takes forever to dry clothes. Each time you use washing machine and dryer you will pay. The amount is 100 Yen not much but you will have to keep coins in order to be able to use it. (2) The downstairs are roomy and the upstairs bedroom size is good but the ceiling is low and the stairs are dark and narrow. The host said I should learn about the Japanese culture and the Japanese way, which I agree but I have stayed in other facilities with much nicer experiences. I know this is my personal feeling and may not be something that other travelers care. Because of that we only stayed for one night even we booked five nights. We moved to a hotel which we had much better experience for our Kyoto trip. We did not get any credit back from the host as this is the risk of taking airbnb. My rating above is not because we did not get credit back. My only intension is to provide candid feedback for other travelers that may focus on some of the things that I focus.

A fun, creative and very comfortable place to stay in Kyoto

A well designed, comfortable, and creative space. Lots of great features and design made it a very comfortable stay. The host is very nice and gave us many recommendations on things to see in the area. There are also several very helpful city guides to reference on site.

No specific points that I would suggest to improve. All was fine for us.

Amazing ninja home

Perfect location to explore Kyoto with plenty of good food options nearby. Wonderful host and careful details in a welcoming traditional Japanese house. Very convenient to have a big map of Kyoto on the wall to plan an discuss travel plans. Peaceful neighborhood with a stick clapping lady (usually around 21:00) to prevent us from the next great fire of Kyoto.

Exceptional

Fantastic house with a real Japanese feel, numerous fun surprises are waiting for you inside the house. The owner was extremely nice and very very informative, he spent literally a good 25 minutes explaining us, with detailed maps, everything we could do around Kyoto.

Its not exactly in the best location possible but really not far from public transports, and the center of the city is easily reached in just a few minutes. Maybe it would be nice to have a real coffee machine with grinned coffee and milk available in the fridge as a nice treat for guests? Just a suggestion!

Very spacey and comfortable to stay. Can feel fine traditional Japanese atmosphere. Easy access to various train stations and various tourist spots.
