A gentle reminder that this is a large home and the cost of upkeep/utilities is the same regardless of group size. Rentals for large groups must reflect the number of individuals staying in the property as I cannot allow significant discounts. Please be respectful of this.
there is also a sectional sleeper sofa with full-sized mattress.
ALL mattresses and pillowcases have been encased to prevent bedbugs, allergens, and are waterproof.
HOUSE LAYOUT:
I decided to write up layout of the bedrooms/beds and available options so you can make a better decision on who goes where, etc. I’ve named the bedrooms to avoid confusion.
So the ground floor/1st floor has a small bedroom (Fairfield) with a queen bed. It has a full bathroom as well. So it’s like a very small master suite. To get to this bathroom, you must walk through Fairfield bedroom. Fairfield is next to the kitchen; hence, it is ideal for anyone with mobility concerns.
The 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms. 2 of the bedrooms have connecting smaller bedrooms. One bedroom (Wayne) is quite large & has 2 queen beds in this room. There is a sliding door in Wayne that leads to another small bedroom (Union) with twin bunk beds. Union is about 80sf. Union also has its own door to the hallway as well.
There is a small bedroom (Ewing) with a queen bed. It’s about 110sf. No connecting rooms. Softer bed.
Lastly, there is Van Buren room with a queen bed. This room connects to the solarium (Harrison). The solarium (100sf) has a twin daybed with a twin trundle. To get to Harrison from the hallway, you must walk through Van Buren.
In addition, I have finished the attic. There is a 4th bathroom in the attic. Each floor has 1 full bathroom. The attic has a full-sized futon. So if someone wants to stay up here, it is possible. I do have to charge a bit more - mostly to cover the housekeeper cleaning fee as it is another 700 sf. But with larger groups, it does allow for people to spread out more comfortably.
If you want to use the attic, there will be a one time charge of $150 to cover housekeeping & utilities. But you can also decide after you arrive & check out the house. I will send you all the door codes just before you check-in.

5 high school friends (we are now close to 60 years old) get together every summer for a baseball weekend.
The house and location were great! Close to the stadium/breweries/bars (and Starbucks for breakfast).
Host was tremendous to work; very friendly and responsive.
Highly recommend this historic house for families and groups visiting Fort Wayne.

A beautiful, spacious, and comfortable home with timeless stateliness and beauty along with highly functioning modern updates. The breezes while lounging on the large front porch or in the back garden were a welcome respite from the sun. Our boys enjoyed the game rooms of the basement and 3rd floors. Each bedroom was comfortable and the bathrooms boasted excellent water pressure and immediately hot water. The air conditioning was abundant, which kept us cool. The dining room was spacious and the kitchen had every appliance you could want. Though there was a hiccup with access at check in, both VRBO and the home host worked efficiently to resolve. The home was clean, safe, and very conveniently located for heading to downtown eateries or running out for groceries. We were well cared for. We highly recommend this home and would happily stay here again!

The house was very nice. The check in was a disaster and the owner could not be reached. VRBO did not have a phone number to reach her.

This home is immaculate and gorgeous. The host is very responsive and kind. The neighborhood is safe and beautiful. If you have time take a stroll to see the many historical homes and unique architecture.
You will immediately appreciate the care and originality of the home's heritage. My grandchildren loved the playroom. There is a space and privacy for all. This will be our go to place when we visit Ft. Wayne again.

This historical house was truly a gem! We had a blast spending time here for our daughter's graduation from Indiana Tech. There is plenty of room for everyone, lots of extras throughout this well-kept property, and the owner, Wanda was extremely pleasant and easy to communicate with. The game room and extra kids play room were fun bonuses, as was the giant dining room for eating, gathering, and playing games with our large group. Including the Attic room, (which is huge and has lots of sleeping room for kids and teens) there is a full bathroom on all 4 floors of this house. It was an absolutely perfect place for our large group and for the event we came into town for. Also the proximity to downtown was perfect and a lot of cute shops and places to eat are within walking distance, as well as just around the corner from Swinney Park. If we are ever in town with a large group again, we would definitely book Wanda's Historical house for another stay!

We were in town for the weekend for swim meet. It was great to have a place to relax between sessions. Great location! Property Manager was excellent to work with! Will stay there again in the future!

We loved staying here for a little spring break trip with family. The location was perfect for us with all of the places we wanted to visit within a 15 to 30 minute drive. The house was spacious and had a lot of character. We loved the comfy living room, large dining room table for playing games and sharing meals, and the game room. Wanda was great and communication was on point.

We rented the home for our family at Christmas, and loved the house, the responsiveness of our host, and that it was walking distance to downtown.

This was a perfect size home and location for our family gathering in Fort Wayne. 5-10 min walk through the beautiful neighborhoods to shops and restaurants in downtown FW was a highlight. Iron Works and GK Bakery all became favorites.

Very unique and beautiful house close to downtown. Had anything we needed that we may have forgotten. Host very easy to work with. Would recommend staying here.

Perfect for the size of our family.

Myself and five other friends had plenty of room in this spacious home. Fully equipped kitchen, big dining room and large living room. Saved a lot of money here as opposed to getting individual hotel rooms. Close to downtown restaurants and bars as well as other city amenities. We’ll book again on future visits to Fort Wayne.

Clean and welcoming 1900’s house. House was right in a main Fort Wayne road so could hear traffic on that side of the house. But that road also meant convenient travel. Each of our party of ten had private quarters and there was a great large table for game playing. The house accommodated our graduation gathering perfectly. Thank you.

Upon our arrival, we had a small glitch with the keypad & quickly got the problem resolved with a phone call to the property manager. The house was better than expected and we had plenty of gathering space for our family. It's a charming neighborhood and it was just a few blocks from the church where we were attending the wedding.

Large clean house in a nice neighborhood. Sleeps plenty and saved us hundreds over staying at downtown hotels. We all walked home one evening from downtown it was so close. 15 minute walk. Great Stay.

Property Manager, Wanda is easy to communicate with. We love this historical old house. This is our 2nd year staying here for the Brew Fest. It's close enough to walk there and back. Its close walking distance to the Minor league ball field with places to eat near by. Will definitely be back next year.

It was a great location for 9 adults and 7 children (all under age 8) to stay while in town for a family get together. The children loved exploring all 4 floors of this beautiful 120 year old home. The kitchen floor was under renovation but we knew that before moving in. The owner was always available to answer our questions. The location was perfect for our needs.

This is our second year to hold our family holiday celebration at Wanda’s place. Ft. Wayne is a good meeting location for our family from Ohio, Indiana, Colorado, & California. The house provides space for out of town family members to stay as well as space to host family meals for all to gather in one place. With four generations at our gathering, there is space for the eldest to be comfortable, the middle generations to cook as well as relax, and the youngest to play in the basement entertainment areas. The kitchen is well equipped with most everything needed to prepare small to large meals and the bedrooms are very comfortable. We definitely recommend Wanda’s place and hope to stay here again.

Took multiple walks admiring homes in neighborhood. Always felt safe and comfortable. Adult kids enjoyed the game room. Kitchen well laid out and appreciated washer/dryer. Woodwork was gorgeous.

Bonus In basement with pool table. We did not have the kids playroom but it looked like fun if you were a little person!

We have stayed here several times and love the comfortable living space for our large group. Clean, comfortable beds and cozy shared spaces for gathering. Beautiful neighborhood for walks and easy downtown access.

We have a large family living in at least 6 states, though our "home" and some relatives live in Ft. Wayne. We had not been able to see each other in 2+ years due to COVID. We wanted somewhere with lots of rooms, good kitchen and dining area and good parking. This house provided all of that! We loved the historic features, comfortable beds and great central location. The host, Wanda, was receptive to all my questions and concerns and answered timely. We had an outstanding time and will try to book here again!

Like stepping back in time. Really nice old turn of the century house with all of the updates. Great WIFI, Cable and Air conditioning. Quiet Street, nice neighborhood and close to everything Ft. Wayne. Love the Celebrities' from Ft Wayne down the stairway to the basement, great history with a cool pool table/ping pong/air hockey table with darts. Great selection of board games to play and a wonderful front porch to relax on after a long day. Not to mention only a 10 minute drive to Sweetwater, America's Music Store and Studio. Thank you for the use of your amazing place.

What a perfect location and house for our family of 7(!) returning former Fort Wayne residents to reunite. It was so wonderful to walk through the beautiful downtown and Central West neighborhoods and see all the changes. We happened to stay during the Three Rivers festival so everything was close and easily walkable/drivable. The house was great- better than the pictures, actually- very comfortable with nice beds and hot showers (don't let the vintage decor put you off!). We thoroughly enjoyed our time together in this house. Thank you!

The house is beautiful with lots of character. It was spacious enough to house about a third of my family for my dad's memorial with room for others in the family to come by. I would stay again.

The house served us well with great location and great amenities for family with kids.

Large, historic home made for very comfortable stay. Good beds, plenty of bedrooms, nice kitchen. Pool / ping-pong / play room for kids in basement. Cool woodwork and historic touches throughout home.
Loved the area! Get ice cream from the "microcreamery" just four blocks away, fresh bagel sandwiches five blocks, explore the historic, beautiful, well maintained homes in the area. Nice walking/running/biking path along the river starts four blocks away and runs at least the 2 miles to downtown Ft Wayne and new Headwaters city park along the riverfront.
Traffic on fairly busy city street in front of the house can be noisy, including through the night.

We run a local, high-growth company headquartered in Ft Wayne. During the covid outbreak, before vaccines were available, etc., we decided we'd like to try renting vacation homes in the area versus hotels. We had such a great first experience with this that we tried it again. Several of us are now pretty tired of hotels (where we've spent many years traveling for business) and enjoy the casual comfort of a home like this. We're able to hold strategy sessions, invite employees over for 1:1 front porch meetings and do a better job of staying healthy on the road. Thank you, Wanda, for welcoming us in!! The house is amazing and you were a wonderful host to us!

Overall a great property with plenty of space for a group. The only negative is the traffic on Washington Street...made it a little hard to enjoy the porch

Three families met and stayed at this house during the holiday period between xmas and new year's. It is suitable for about 13-14 people maximum, which was perfect for us. The family room and dining room are spacious for this many people, and suitable for gathering together to socialize and play games, etc. The kitchen is a bit small, but fully equipped to prepare whatever you need to cook meals without going out. Everyone had a great time.

Wanda is an excellent host. My family enjoyed our stay at her beautiful home. So many thoughtful touches. The neighborhood the home is located in is do gorgoues with all the old historic houses.Thank you again Wanda!
