Situated in Georgia, this attractive lodge for $302 per night is a great option for your next break. "A River Runs Through It" - a spectacular 6 bedroom property that sleeps up to 12 guests located in the foothills of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Get ready for the most unique setting watching the water run directly under the house! The home is situated in a private setting and is built over a scenic mountain stream (Think of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater House on a smaller scale). Constructed in 1960, this property holds a lot of historic value, from the 100 year old water wheel which greets you as you pull up the driveway to the walls and ceilings built with wood from old buildings being torn down in the mid 1900's (black walnut, cherry, ash, and cedar). A list of the amenities and bedroom configurations are as follows: * 1st Family room features leather couches, a fireplace, and 20" flat screen TV (off kitchen area). The location of the house and the creek was perfect. But !!! The house was hot during the day and when I set the thermostat to 69 they ( all of them) would go back up to 71. I like it cool so we weren’t happy with that. The stay was made great by having the creek on site. Also on the drive to the house I received an email/ contact I had to fill out. Didn’t care for that either. Ivy not had to do that before with VRBO . Thank you

Everything about this place screams relax and enjoy yourself. We would have never left the site to see anything except we had already had plans. We all felt we could have stayed there the whole time and been in a piece of paradise.
The place is so homey and with 12 people you never felt like you were crowded at all. This place brings people together. The tv never was turned on at all the pool table and the river kept us all together as a family/friends and everyone enjoyed absolutely everything….we are ready to book again. Thank you!!!

We had a family vacation with 6 adults and 6 kids ranging from 2-9 yrs old. We had such a great time, the kids played in the creek, caught crawdads and some small trout and slide down the rock in front of the bridge, the hot tub was really nice and the whole property is just so unique and fun to look at, little stone paths through the moss and lots of different woods and materials throughout the house. We also enjoyed playing a couple games of pool each day in the living room
We also had 2 exploring trips.
We went to Amicalola Falls and hiked up and then went to the lodge which has an amazing view and a cool spot to sit and rest before hiking back down
We also did a kayaking / tubing trip down the Cartecay which was a lot of fun but the rapids were probably a little much for our younger kiddos, It was perfect for our kids who were about 5 and up though and we had a really great adventure - Blackberry Falls at the end was a lot fun to go down in the tubes and you can climb up the rocks and go down as many times as you want

This little retreat in Ellijay, Georgia was the best we have stayed in. The layout of the house, the comfort of the beds, the location to the trout streams, and the fun that you can have on the creek. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and our time together. My family and I stayed here for New Years and had an amazing time. The house is perfect and has lots of privacy for different families staying together. The property is beautiful and we spent most of our time outside enjoying the fresh mountain air. We can’t wait to come back!

The owners have really kept the property up, and are always very easy to work with. It's such a unique place. It's rare to find a location with 6 bedrooms, a fire pit, big kitchen, tons of space, AND a creek. Very private yet very open. We will be back again for sure.

By far the cleanest and most well kept vacation home we have ever stayed in. The pictures do not do it justice. The property was gorgeous especially after it snowed! Great place for some family photos! Such a peaceful area to enjoy some family time. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals. We did not have any cell service in the house and the WiFi only worked in the living room and master bedroom for us. They do have a landline phone and WiFi calling also worked well in the living room.

We took our children and three grandchildren under age 6 for a weekend stay. The main floor was very spacious for the kids to run around. They loved the swing. We went to Hillcrest Orchard (18 min drive) one day and to Amicalola Falls the next day. Both short drives for kids who take an afternoon nap. Highlight was when our son caught a crawfish in the river with his bare hands, and then watching as he taught his six year old daughter how to pick it up. Fabulous!

Absolutely amazing view the entire time. The creek was such a delight and our kids loved playing in it for hours. The hot tub was easy to use and hot. We all truly loved this location and will book again.

The adults enjoyed the jacuzzi. We set up a family pool tournament and had a blast. We built fires and made s'mores at the fire pit. We chased fire flies at night. The location allowed us to go and hike the falls at Amicalola, enjoy several wineries, ramble around the shops in Ellijay and Blue Ridge and bring back some beauties from gem mining. Great location. Beautiful, spacious, rustic home which our family of 11 thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back next year!

The house itself is older and comes with its own particular brand of charm. The kitchen was large, the bedrooms were a great size and the main living area was nothing short of amazing!!! This was probably the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed in....not so much as a stray cobweb! We had one really small issue during our stay, but Brittany responded quickly and had everything resolved even faster than we had hoped for! The hot tub is really nice and was also clean and ready to go. This property is really all about the setting though. We had the doors open for a lot of our stay so that we could hear the water. The kids had a blast playing in the river, and it is just so beautiful! 10/10 would definitely stay here again!

The house is comfortably furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with a generous assortment of pots, pans, pyrex, glasses and dishes, cutlery, and utensils.
We had plenty of hot water for showers .
Heater with several thermostats kept the house comfortable.
Master bed was comfortable, but I needed 2 extra blankets ( I snagged from upstairs closet) For me the blanket on the master bed wasn't warm enough. (30's at night) I prefer house cooler when sleeping.
My husband and I slept in the master bedroom. The hand crafted bed is beautiful, but! Be aware!!! The bed rails will "bite" your shins if you get too close!!
A Super Walmart and an Ingles grocery are aprox 30 min drive.
We highly recommend Misty Mountain Pub in Blue Ridge. About 30 minutes from the property. GREAT food, service and atmosphere!!

It is so nice to have a large enough place to rent for large groups like we have! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful! There are 2 refrigerators which is a great bonus! The hot tub is awesome. Don’t forget your fishing pole when visiting here!

We stayed here with old college friends; two families with 4 kids. This is a perfect spot for kids who love to get into a creek and explore. Very unique home with the water under the living room. (Constant white noise at night, too!) Fire pit was great. Would gladly stay here again.
