Contacted owner to request 2 hour early check in (driving from VA ) initial response was rude/abrupt but later she agreed. House over all is cluttered and dusty. Lots of fragile items and multiple cleaning solutions including bleach, soap, poisons in easy reach of toddler ( sitting on floors near sinks, commodes, wash machines). No comfortable seating in living room. Canopy bed had bug skins in it and was so dusty that 2 family members had asthma attacks. ( separate nights - swapped beds) Heaters ( electric fire place x 2) are improperly mounted on walls and are hot to touch- again child they are a
hazard. All counters, tables, night stands, furniture is full of others belongings and there was no -lace except the bed to place our belongings. Multiple lanterns, glass pieces, on all reachable spaces.
Overall the cleanliness was poor- sticky floors, counters, baths had mold, appeared to be a hoarders house.
House was historic and beautiful. If the house had been clean, decluttered and set up for rentals i.e. space for renters belongings- it could have been a beautiful historic experience.
I would not recommend this property due to the following:
1. Dirty floors, bathrooms, kitchen
2. No space for belongings- all, dressers, counters, side tables are FULL of owners belongings- it is like a hoarder died and they decided to rent property rather than clean/sell.
3. Multiple dangers for children- at side of washing machine alone there were more than 12 bottles of detergent.

It was awesome. Loved the overall historic elements of the house, location was on point. The host provided welcome gift which consisted of a king cake ( traditional for NOLA) and a fruit basket. The host responded quickly when we had a question.

Location has fine, the property was cluttered, unorganized, not as clean as expected.

Quaint, lovely yard, 4 bedrooms. Interesting places to eat on Oak Street, plus a bakery and a great used bookstore.

A great weekend for NYE with friends and family (9 total) we really enjoyed staying Uptown for the first time when visiting the city. Oak street is a great place to enjoy awesome food and some of the best entertainment New Orleans has to offer. The Maple Leaf Bar has great music almost every night of the week and it's just a few steps away from the property. Plenty of comfortable beds, unique antique furniture and New Orleans charm. The ladies really enjoyed soaking in the claw foot bathtub. The gated corner lot was nice and safe, and we enjoyed hanging out under the pergola. The property owners left us fruit and wine as well as sparkling grape juice for a NYE toast and a case of water to drink. We could not have been happier enjoying New Orleans Uptown and ringing in the new year in this awesome property. It is very old and has many of the original features. Beautiful doors, chandeliers, and windows lot's of character and charm. Would definitely book again.

We had a wonderful time in this eclectic house! We enjoyed the location as well and the owner was incredibly responsive!

This property was perfect for our group of 10. Super convenient location. Easily walkable to the trolley stop. Many cafés and bars nearby. Was perfect for our family vacation.

Tulane Graduation Trip
The location was very convenient for all of the graduation activities (this year the Unified Ceremony was in Yulman Stadium rather than the Super Dome where it is usually held). The house had plenty of room for our family of 4 + 5 grandparents. We especially enjoyed having the portico.

Great location, older home
Location is perfect if you want to be uptown. Lots of good restaurants and coffee shops and good music walkable. Walkable to streetcar line. Great outdoor space for kids to play or to sit and eat on porch or under covered patio. House itself is older, small rooms as expected in an older house, there is one bed in the detached structure and then another 4 in the main house. You have to walk through the first bedroom to get to the other 3 bedrooms. One of those bedrooms is upstairs in a loft like area. Worked well for our group that was all family.

Hidden gem
If you know New Orleans you will love this property. If you’ve never been here you will not appreciate it as much. Great eclectic place in an amazing location that screams New Orleans.

Cute house fully equipped with everything you would need
The owners of the property were easy to contact and they had a bowl of treats and water waiting in the fridge. It also has fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms as well as laundry supplies if you need them.
We did not do any cooking, we were there for a celebration and enjoyed what the town had to offer.
It was definitely an experience taking a shower in the claw tub but when would you get that chance again.
The 5th bedroom and third bathroom is in a detached apartment on the side of the house. My oldest definitely enjoyed the separate space.
The only complaint I have is there was no room in the bedrooms to put your clothes away. In the room in the middle, there was one drawer out of three that was available. I’m the canopy room there was a clothes rack but no drawers available, in the master there were drawers that the bottoms were falling out of the grove and the other places were just for looks as they were locked.
Brand new tvs through out the house and you can stream using your info on the tvs.

We really like the house... plenty of room, awesome neighborhood! This is our second time staying there and we have never had any issues! It’s close to a lot of shops and parades!

NOLA
Great location. Beautiful bedrooms in main house. Old house be prepared you may have to go thru another's bedroom to get to bathroom. Maybe a little too much furniture seems crowded. Girls went barefoot in house feet dirty almost immediately - cleaner needs to do better on floors. Good luck figuring out what switches turn on what lights or fans. Wiring a mess. Over all it was a fun place. Owner very accommodating.

I wasn't impressed
For the amount of money that I spent I expected more.I had to leave a day early because my children were incapable of falling asleep because of the roaches.

Great Graduation Weekend
Nice historic house with a funky combination of old and new. Beautiful furniture. Nice fenced yard. BBQ and patio area was handy. Close proximity to Tulane. Deborah was helpful and responsive with questions. Only thing keeping this from a 5 rating was “shotgun” style access to 2 of the bedrooms and bathrooms need some updating.

Jazz Fest Oasis
We could not have asked for more gracious and attentive hosts as Deborah and Ray. They worked with us throughout the rental process. The house was perfect for our groups' needs, especially the outside veranda and the porch. Location was ideal as we were on Oak Street a couple of nights and accessibility to Mid City, Garden District, Fair Grounds, and the Quarter are unparalleled. We enjoyed ourselves and the Carrolton house.

Great location when you’re tired of the noisemakers in French Quarter.
We loved staying in a residential area. We walked to great restaurants and coffee shops. Enjoyed sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee in the morning and in the gazebo at night with cocktails. It was so peaceful and quiet compared to the French Quarter. Neighbors walking by waved and said “good morning” on their way to the bakery and coffee shops. The House was well appointed. A Large bowl of fruit awaited our arrival. Will definitely plan on staying here again.

Excellent home and location
This home was perfect for our group of 6. There are lots of amenities. The porch was wonderful. The location is perfect because there are restaurants and bars in walking distance.

Southern Charm
Lots of room for our birthday group.. Very friendly and responsive to requests. Found the location to be easy to get to restaurants and downtown.

This wonderful home was perfect for our group of eight. We absolutely loved it!
This historic New Orleans home is beyond amazing. The beds were so comfortable. They left yogurt, fruit, coffee, and water and even left balloons and flowers for our birthday girl! The home had so much southern charm with chandeliers galore, local art, and stylish furniture. If we could give more than five stars we would. We highly recommend this place for your New Orleans stay. We will be back!

Mardi Gras stay
Great location. Just a few blocks to grab the streetcar to get to the parades. There were a few great restaurants within walking distance. Super comfy beds and nice pergola. The only couple of downsides. You have to walk through bedrooms to get to the bathroom in the main house. There is, however, one bedroom that has its own bathroom. Also, the sitting room couch was very uncomfortable. As mentioned in a previous review, there isn't a big space for a larger group to gather in one room (we had 10). With that being said, the house is beautiful and the separate cottage is very nice. The pergola and the front porch were nice to hang out when the weather was warm enough.

Making history, reviving the Greeks
We had a group of us stay for a week.
We had a fantastic time! The house had everything we needed, we had a minor issue that was resolved within hours...truly impressive!
Great location, great parking for our two minivans, most comfortable beds!
Deborah and Ray, thank you!

Great house
The owners are very nice and welcoming; the house has the charm of old NOLA and is in a quiet neighborhood. It has plenty of comfortable beds, sufficient for eleven. Short Uber ride to Bourbon street and nice restaurants within walking distance. Perfect house for a large group who will be out and about all day. Common areas (dining and living rooms not very spacious)

1105 Joliet St
the home says it will sleep 14 but it only has 4 beds in the house and 1 in the apartment. It has only 2 bathrooms in the house and 1 in the appartment. The home was not the cleanest and was too congested with unusable furniture. It was too crampt for even 10 people to stay at. The over all house was too small to be use with a large group.

Jazz Fest Bliss!
We loved our stay here. The house was beautiful and well stocked. The air conditioning worked great which was key for the comfort of our party. The linens and beds were very comfortable and top quality. My only problem was that the blow up beds did not hold air and should either be patched or replaced. We had to go to Walgreens and purchase a blow up bed, also there is no hide a bed as shown in the photo. We only had ten people, but some do not want to sleep in the same bed. Great Location for a rental We love New Orleans and will be back. Thank you

Amazing Birthday/All Star/Mardi Gras Weekend!
Overall, this property was AWESOME! Stately and historic, with modern conveniences (hello that refrigerator!). Perfect for our group of seven, and could've fit even more (if there were other couples). And some of THE most comfortable beds the folks in my group had ever slept in. The listing and photos are exactly what we got, and Deborah and Ray were very sweet and easy to work with. They answered texts and calls right away, and left us greek yogurt, orange juice, lemonade, a full fruit bowl and a king cake to enjoy on our weekend! Endless towels, glasses, dishes and kitchen appliances are available to use.
We planned to be in town on an insanely busy weekend - the NBA AllStar game and mardi gras parade season. It also coincided with my 30th birthday, and since NOLA is one of my favorite cities, we had to be there. The house is a 15-minute ride from the quarter, but we liked being more uptown and away from the noise when we were ready to actually get some sleep. The block is quiet, the neighbors are friendly, and there are two amazing restaurants just two blocks away - Jacque Imo's and La Casita.
Rent this place!

Quaint Relaxing Stay
Overall the experience of staying at the home was great. Growing up and managing a bed and breakfast, there were a couple of items that I would suggest be corrected to make this a 5 star home to rent. 1) install a hand rail on the stairwell going up to the loft bedroom fixed on the wall to add additional security when walking up and down the stairs 2) the flooring entering the master bedroom where the old heater grate is located is broken and creates a dangerous trip hazard. 3) The rear door in the kitchen does not feel secure and needs a more efficient way of locking as well as availability to enter and exit safely. 4) The front door knob is malfunctioning and causes the door to stick and difficult to open and secure.
Other than those minor issues, the home was in great shape for the age and the decorations and atmosphere made it feel comfortable to stay and feel like our home away from home. The outside cottage was convenient for additional guests that stayed there. The yard was well manicured and gazebo was inviting for relaxing. I would recommend this home to my friends to stay at in the future and will be reaching back to the owners when we travel again. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Great Historical Home in a Great Location!
A real historical charmer. The Greek Revival Cottage Home was more than that. This was my first vacation rental and was to accommodate 14 ladies for a bachelorette party. The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood with very friendly neighbors. We enjoyed the pergola/gazebo to sit under and enjoy our adult beverages. We didn't do any grilling but was a awe with the charcoal pits and gas grill. The ladies enjoyed overcast weather because the weekend we were here was the weekend of the Epic 500 year flood in Louisiana. But we were actually high and dry, just cool overcast weather that afforded our group a very enjoyable cool August weekend. We ladies did though throw one Awesome Epic Bachelorette Party New Orleans Style. Some of the reviews of this very nice historical place recited clutter. Our group enjoyed the exquisite chandeliers and grand furnishings. I gave you a real feel of that era. The ladies enjoyed wonderful conversations about the décor and it's history. This grand home was far away from all the noise of the city and the French Quarter, but close enough to experience it all for the weekend. Deborah was an excellent host that answered all of my call ad messages very promptly.
Thank you Deborah for providing so much literature and information about the Riverbend, Uptown/Carrolton, Garden District and the French Quarter, etc. Eating, shopping and so much more including the St Charles trolley to the Garden District and the French Quarter is just a few easy walking blocks away. I will definitely suggest this rental to my friends ad family. And with permission post to my Pinterest Board and Facebook Page. I hope whoever reads my review will find that I, along with my group of ladies enjoyed my stay and I know you will too. I hope to have an occasion in the near future to book the Historic Greek Revival Home in the near future.

Our Vacation
The rental home was Great. Not a single bad thing about the home. Everything is within walking distance if you do not want to leave the area. The neighbors are great people and Deborah and Ray kept the house in tip top shape. We visited with a group of 9 and everyone slept comfortably. Looking back at things, I will suggest one thing: a handout with closest grocery store, and gas station. But that's neither here nor there when it comes to how much we LOVED the home. We have discussed it over and will for sure be visiting again. Thanks
