About this cabin rental

Heritage Hideaway is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with loved ones. A peaceful and scenic setting to celebrate an anniversary or birthday, or just escape the daily grind. Located on 25 acres of steep bluffs and mature hardwood forest, our main cabin is a fully furnished and modern Amish built log cabin.

A true hideaway, the cabin is tucked back off the main road, yet close to many recreational opportunities. Relax around a campfire or listen to the sounds of nature. Take in the scenic views and gather with family where distractions disappear.

Base rates are based on two person occupancy, additional guest fees apply. For groups larger than six, see our separate listing for our Tiny House located on the opposite side of the property: VRBO#873511. Note there is a discount for weekly stays (7 night minimum).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We went kayaking one day and biking one day. It was a treat to come back to your serene house at the end of the day! It was my second time there and I would like to return.

This cabin was the perfect place for us during a weekend wedding visit. It is very secluded and off the beaten path with amazing views and peacefulness. The cabin had all the amenities of home and was very comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again!

Absolutely gorgeous house. Probably the cleanest rental I have ever stayed at. Owners were amazing. Farm fresh eggs in the fridge when we arrived. Could not say enough about this property. Highly highly recommend!

This charming and cozy cabin in the rolling farm hills of Chatfield was a refreshing and peaceful retreat for us. We loved the cabin, very comfortable as well as the beautiful surrounding property. No other humans or noise! We had everything we needed and was only 20 minutes from a Lanesboro. Super clean and appealing. We will look forward to returning in the future.

Property was clean, well-maintained. This property is quiet! Which is what we wanted! Beds were comfortable. Cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved the area. Host suggested two places to eat and they were both amazing ( Home Sweet Home in Lanesboro and Aroma Pie in Waylon) We will look forward to going back and staying again !

We had the BEST most PEACEFUL time staying here and driving around the beautiful country sides, visits the adorable towns, buying Amish wares and listening to the tree frogs at night. The cabin is serene, with charm, rustic details and all the amenities you could need from cookware to lots of cozy linens. The beds and pillows were great and the view is, just the absolute best. WE. WILL. BE. BACK! *not to threaten the hosts with the bold text, but we just cannot wait!

It is a beautiful property! While we didnt spend a lot of time at the cabin (out exploring) the time we did spend there was cozy and very comfortable!

Could not have been better. Everything was exactly as Ad stated. Owner was very cordial and helpful. Was a little hesitant to rent from VRBO after a very disappointing rental last May. Took a chance and was the correct decision

Great secluded location and beautiful cabin inside and out. Spotless! Bathroom on the main floor despite the bedrooms on 2nd floor did not deter us and the steps and handrail were solid. Loved discovering the trails on the grounds. Kitchen was fully stocked. We loved the wood stove and used it nightly. Would definitely stay here again!

This is our second time here, and we both absolutely loved it! The location is very central to the local small towns in the area, yet quiet and secluded. We spent more time sitting outside and enjoying the sounds of nature. The hostess is very accommodating and we were able to buy fresh eggs from her. The kitchen was well stocked with tools and appliances, as we did some cooking as well. A truly relaxing experience was had!

Heritage Hideaway is a perfect place to relax. The cabin is comfortable and includes everything one needs. Multiple outdoor seating areas--two decks, the patio, the firepit area, and the swing on the bluff's edge add to the peaceful atmosphere. It is convenient to the Root River Trail, several state parks, and small towns worth exploring.

We stayed here a few days during the summer to get away from the busy cities and it was absolutely perfect! It had everything we needed and we enjoyed the outdoor swing looking out at the view! We will definitely be back!

It was better than the pictures! Loved the solitude, the cabin was well equipped and very comfortable. We were in Lanesboro this morning and the owner knows Troy, our host.

I took my dad and my kids to this cabin for a quick weekend of stargazing, as my dad has a portable observatory good for taking pictures of galaxies, globular clusters, etc. The cabin itself was wonderful, with everything we needed, and it was very clean. The surrounding property was exactly what we needed, with clear views of the night sky, just as the pictures promised. The kids loved exploring the area, and we even made a trip into Lanesboro for lunch and ice cream. A good, quiet weekend. Thanks!

The Heritage House was perfect. Great location, easy drive to historic Lanesboro to enjoy biking, canoeing, live theater at the Commonweal and everything else the town has to offer. We loved the house. They have everything we needed and enjoyed the sunrises, sunsets, making dinner and unplugging for a few days. We will definitely be back again.

Great place for relaxation and unique setting. Being seniors our biggest concern were stairs that really didn’t have adequate handrail for easy confident movement especially coming down at night for bathroom. Guess this place ideally set for younger people.
