This is a house we just love getting away to for a mini vacation. As always it did not disappoint. They have done many upgrades to make this house more like a gone away from home. We live the yard, home and beds! The kitchen is perhaps most of my favorite part. Cooking in the kitchen is a joy with all those counters and well supplied amenities. Thank you Deborah again for a wonderful time away! We felt safe and well supplied for a mini Thanksgiving.

I live an hour away from this rental. When asked if I could see it prior to booking the answer was no, because the owner does not live near it. This should have been a sign. The house sits on a residential street of homes in similar shabby shape. Inside, there are curtains where doors once stood. The bathroom plumbing is rusted. There was mismatched kid themed bedding for 5 adults & a hodgepodge of old furniture. It appears the upstairs sleeping area is a renovated attic space. There is no television. One selling point was the hot tub, which we were afraid to use because the water was green. We even went over to Gimmee for coffee in the morning because the scale and stain on the coffee maker was just gross. While the place had been wiped down, the cleaning person must have left mid job. We found the place open, key on the table (not under the flower pot, per instructions) & the basement door open and lights on. We arrived well after our agreed upon time. Later we came to realize that there were 2 towels for 5 people in the bathroom. Needless to say, we spent very little time there... enough to sleep. The nearby area is lovely & it is close to the lake, water fall, & a fun restaurant called "Atlas"... all of which we enjoyed. The owner, Deborah, was prompt and pleasant in our correspondence, however days prior to arrival I received a lengthy email of instructions. I thought it "above and beyond" when asked to strip the beds and place everything in the kitchen. I realize we weren't staying at in a hotel, but this place really is over priced for it's condition. If I were to overnight at Cayuga again, I'd call the wineries and ask for recommendations.

Our stay started off a little disappointing as three of the girls that were supposed to be accompanying us had a family medical emergency and were unable to join us. Rather than cancelling at the last minute and throwing away my money, my sister, daughter and myself decided that the 3 of us would go and relax in the hot tub and enjoy the weekend. When we got to the property, we immediately went to turn up the hot tub to find the back outside light not working and no key to unlock the cover of the hot tub. Deborah was extremely helpful, communicated with us immediately and had the key to us within a very short time. The sliding door to the back deck was a bit tricky to lock, but I was made aware of this beforehand and didn't have a problem getting the door to lock. The right side of this house is nice and spacious with hardwood floors throughout and lovely mixture of antique and modern furnishings. Since there was only the 3 of us, we each got to enjoy our own bedroom. The bedrooms are nice and big with super comfy beds! The microwave and one of the refrigerator drawers was a bit dirty with food stuck to insides and the floors had not be swept very good, but the kitchen has a nice big island and had everything that we needed to prepare and cook our own meals. The location is a plus..the weather was beautiful so we enjoyed a nice hike on Saturday at Taughannock Falls only minutes away then on to some of the wineries, ending the night walking through Ithaca Commons browsing the shops and a great restaurant. All in all it ended up being a very enjoyable, fun and relaxing weekend. Would recommend staying here and would love to go back in the summer. Thank you Deborah for the great communication and for your assistance! We truly did enjoy our stay.
