The cottage is clean comfortable safe home with beautiful nights with a clear view of the stars. The mountain trails into the Gila National Forest are out the back gate. a gazebo and propane grill are there at all times. Hunting and fishing! join us for a New Mexico mountain adventure. We are close to historic Pinos Altos and the Gila Cliff Dwellings. We are 40 minutes from Silver City with many restaurants, Pubs, University, galleries and museums. Ten minutes from lake Roberts. Tour of the Gila and mountain biking! Private tennis court for your use!

This beautiful property was accessible for our disabled child, which is a huge plus for us!! The property was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the hosts were very responsive to some questions and issues we had. Incredibly responsive, generous, and pleasant—we will be booking again for our next trip to Mimbres!!

Everything was perfect from check in to check out. Shirley, Marty and Brian were so welcoming. My dog had lots of room to run and had a playmate with their dog Bailey.

My wife and I loved the property and the owners. We felt welcome in the cottage from the moment we made the reservation and then later when we moved in for a few days. The cottage was decorated in wonderful detail and personal touches. You can feel the love that went into this property. Each nook had something interesting to inspect. And the stained glass by the owner highlighted everything! The appliances were small, but complete. They were perfect for what we needed on a long weekend getaway. Each night my wife and I spent sitting around the firepit talking about life. It was nice to drop the digital screens for a few days and actually talk with each other. However, the WiFi worked perfectly for my Zoom doctor's meeting and I was able to take a glimpse at the golf tournament from time to time on the satellite TV. We fished at Lake Roberts and hit a local restaurant for some pie. Silver City is an easy drive from the Cottage where we went antiquing and grabbed a microbeer on a lovely Saturday afternoon. The biggest and friendliest asset of the property were the owners who were perfect hosts. They are great people with interesting lives. We enjoyed seeing them if we needed anything or for a friendly chat. They also gave us our private space when we didn't need anything. I look forward to returning in a few months when we need to escape the desert heat. The weekend is one of the fondest times my wife and I have had.

This was a great space for two people. Very spacious and all we needed. The backyard has a full size tennis court with a nice view. The pellet stove kept us warm at night! Love our stay here. Olivia

We spent 2 lovely nights at The Cottage. The Cottage is cozy yet roomy, remote but not isolated. I felt connected as it is near other homes, (being tooo off the beaten path feels isolated) but not so connected that I actually saw anyone. The homemade bread was a great and delicious touch. There is a gate to the Wilderness about a 3 minute walk away. A great place to watch the sunrise! Have already recommended it to friends.

I stayed here with my husband and two pups, and we were blown away with our experience! The cottage itself is incredibly well-built, well-kept, and beautifully decorated. Everything was clean, pristine, and smelled fantastic. The location was awesome, too, with plenty of recreation opportunities nearby. We were greeted with wine and homemade bread, and the host was easy to communicate with throughout. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone staying in the Gila National Forest area!

My wife and I enjoyed the cottage. It was a quiet, serene, and beautiful location. The cottage was just as advertised on VRBO. We loved the complimentary zucchini bread and bottle of wine. Our dog Pam (Poodle and Maltese mix) loved playing with the owner's dog Bailey.

My sister and I, with 2 fur babies came to Mimbres to enjoy nature and hike. The property was fabulous and the owners were amazing. The owners went out of their way to ensure our stay was fabulous by ensuring we had what we needed, offering suggestions of places to visit and great hiking locations. They were warm and welcoming.

Family compound with hiking/ATV trails at your doorstep. Comfortable studio accommodations with small fridge, electric fry-pan and toaster oven.. This area has a lot to offer from cliff dwellings to wilderness. Enjoyable stay.

Perfect Studio apartment with everything you would need. This studio is exactly as listed and perfectly located so you can experience and explore Gila NF. I wouldn’t look for any other options next time I plan to explore Gila NF.

I would highly recommend if you are in the area, passing through or want a secluded spot away from it all. Host went above and beyond! My boys forgot their racquets- and when we asked if there were some to borrow- they went out and purchased some! Be prepared to not have many stores or restaurants available for miles. Thank you Shirley for the wonderful home made bread !

The property was just as described. We stayed in a cute cottage on Shirley and her family's property. We brought our two dogs who were able to run around and explore. They have a dog named Bailey who was sweet and played with my dogs. Their family is very kind and asked if we needed anything and were close by to ask questions. Shirley made a delicious bread that was waiting for us when we arrived (along with a bottle of wine!). It was a nice, relaxing weekend and I hope to come back sometime soon!

Shirley and Marty were utmost gracious. This was our second trip here for me and my brother. We absolutely love the little one room cabin with pellet heater, and the beauty of Gila National Forest which the cabin abuts great job Shirley and Marty.

The weather didn’t let us do the things we had planned but the cabin was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. We were warm and safe and just spent our time relaxing. It is a very nice place.
