Nestled on 10 acres in the prestigious Chalk Hill appellation of the Alexander Valley, this rustic, beautifully furnished, 5br/4.5ba, 3200 sq. ft., two-story lovely home with central heat/AC, sits on a wooded knoll just above the vineyards. A separate pool house on the opposite side of the circle drive combined accommodating 12 guests. Completing this wonderful retreat is an in-ground pool with cover, freestanding spa, and abundant, new outdoor furniture rests on a flagstone patio beside the pool with beautiful landscaping and lawn all around. This is pet friendly home with a pet fee.
This beautiful Chalk Hill Compound is very well located with easy access to over 40 landmark Alexander Valley wineries including Lancaster, Verite, Chalk Hill, Hanna, White Oak, Field Stone, and Stryker, to name but a few. A spectacular and scenic 15-minute drive through the vineyard-graced valley, brings you to charming and historic Healdsburg, a world class Sonoma County Wine Country destination, with fine dining, shopping, and an abundant diversity of adventures and activities for your enjoyment.
Enter the property through the locked gate, up the paved circular drive, be welcomed by a center island with two mature oaks, and plenty of parking. 9 of us from Ca., Texas, Colorado, Oregon and Costa Rica traveled to share stories, photos, food and laughter with each other. Oldest cousins ages 82 and 2 at 75. And daughters and nieces of the cousins. We had a presentation of our ancestors, practiced balance poses, shared family photos and told lots of stories. We also hugged alot and taught how to build and love fireplaces.

We(4 couples)thoroughly enjoyed our 3night stay at the Chalk Hill Country Home. Very secluded and scenic. Our only concerns were a lacking of some staples like salt & pepper. Also the heating system seemed to be unbalanced. All-all it is a beautiful retreat in the middle of some of CA's great wine regions.

We rented this house for my 40th birthday and the group consisted on children (and baby) and adults of different ages. The house is located about 15mins to Healdsburg shopping which is perfect if you wanted to enjoy the restaurants. We spent most of our time around the pool, hot tub, decking and chilling at the home. The house has good sized bedrooms and a pool house with a kitchen, if any young families that want to stay over there. The house has everything you need for your stay! Many wineries around to choose from. The management company of this house was very helpful, responded very quickly to questions and popped around to bring us some extra items that we required.

We hade a wonderful week! The house was spacious and had everything we needed. The size was perfect for our group. We had 8 adults, 2 teenagers and one child. Between the pool, hot tub, the deck, and the indoor spaces, there was plenty to do and keep everyone happy. The pool house was beautiful and we really enjoyed the pool. The kitchen was well stocked and it was easy to cook for a crowd. Thanks for a great stay!

A wonderful home to have 4 couples stay. 2 bedrooms with kings have an attached bathroom. Another full bath and then 1/2 bath on the first floor. The first floor has another king room and the upstairs was 2 queen rooms. Worked perfectly!
Recommend setting up ahead or having your own transportation if doing something tasting. Getting an Uber would be tricky

The setting was beautiful! We spent lots of time on the deck enjoying the view, visiting and sharing meals. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped with everything we could possibly need! The house was very clean, roomy and comfortable. One suggestion might be to add an area rug in the pool table room and the dining room. We noticed that sometimes with the sound of people engaging in a pool game, with the windows and no rugs on the floors, it was hard to carry on a conversation or board game at the dining room table. The sound echoed. This is a minor point and just a simple suggestion to make a great place even better! We made some lovely memories and are looking forward to returning. Thank you!

We picked this place because it seemed to have everything you will need:
- Beds and bathrooms so we do t need to share too often.
- BBQ grill
- Hot tub (jacuzzi)
- Pool

- Huge kitchen with enough appliances and tools
- Dog friendly
Shante, the property manager responded very quickly via phone and text. I don’t recommend to communicate with Vrbo messages tho. It may take time to hear back from her.
If you and the group are absolutely wine ppl, I recommend to bring a good glasses for your good wines.
Water is heated by gas so never ran out. It will be a nightmare if the hot water runs out with 10ppl group!
Pool was very clean and good size to get day time heat off from our body. And the pool house has a bedroom, kitchen and bath. It’s absolutely a good addition to us because the main house fridge was too full, some folks with knee issue couldn’t use stairs to their bedroom, and less sharing ppl per bathroom.
I think it will be best for 4 couples so each couple gets their own bath but 5 is also durable. If the group members are all families, it’s such a great place to stay with as many as this place allows.

Spacious but rundown. Property manager was responsive, brought more bedding, utensils, pool towels etc. upon request. House was clean but had broken shades, fans that didn’t work, pullout bed in pool house was unusable due to thin, totally uncomfortable mattress. Lovely surroundings but lack of good maintenance really obvious. Old pool needs new tile and resurfacing. Family reunion so we had fun anyway.

This property had everything you could ask for! It offered beautiful views of rolling hills and a vineyard and served as a great launching pad for wine tasting in the Alexander Valley. This property is older but has all the essentials of a newer home. If you enjoy rustic, you'll like it here as it is in the country in a private wooded setting. It worked well for us - three families ranging from one to sixty-eight. Three large bedrooms (two ensuite) and all living areas on first floor with an additional 2 bedrooms upstairs. An additional pool house living space adds another bedroom, kitchen and bath so everyone can have all the space they need. As our stay was short and the air quality was not good due to recent fires, we only used the hot tub for the kids - it was large and clean. We found everything clean and well stocked and there are two entertainment areas so kids and adults can have their own space. Our dogs appreciated the large deck and yard area which was completely enclosed. Our only complaints were the water which smelled slightly sulphurous and the AC units in only 4 rooms so don't cool the whole house when doors are closed. Fortunately, Healdsburg evenings are cool so AC isn't always needed and several rooms had overhead fans and floor fans. Due to Covid we cooked in and had everything we needed to do so.

I do not usually like to speak ill of or stand in the way of someone trying to make money but in this case I have made an exception. This house is OLD and I would not recommend it to a friend. The listing mentions "updated" but I would call that a gross exaggeration. We had issues from day 1 of a 5 day stay. No AC, broken fridges, nasty/dirty floors, hot tub issues, very limited utensil/serving options in the kitchen and ant problems just to name a few. Property management tried to mitigate the situation but overall it was a poor effort. We felt like we were hosting repairmen during our stay even though none of them were able to fix the aforementioned issues. To make matters worse we checked out of the property on 6/29 and we have yet to see our security deposit and no word on any refund for our less than pleasant stay in the property. Final advice: DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY!

We checked into Chalk Hill rental early which we were grateful for. The pool guy was there and pool and hot tub were clean and functioning well. The house was very spacious with many bedrooms for guests. The outside deck was wonderful and breezy. We loved sitting out there! The inside of the home was nice but perhaps in need of some basic TLC. The washer broke during our stay and they sent a maintenance man to fix but it was semi stressful bc we needed clean clothes for wedding. Also, the drains in showers were slow and filled tubs with water while showering. Overall our stay was great though!

This very roomy place is 15 to 20 minutes away from any town/shop, but the layout worked really well for our big group (in the area for a family reunion). We did self check in and self check out, so only had contact with people via text message. The swimming pool needed attention and instructions for pool and Internet access were out of date. It would have been good to know that the pool house (double bed and sofa bed) does not have AC and that for the two upstairs bedrooms, there is no bathroom. Yes have to come downstairs and use a bathroom in the hallway, which may be also used by another three guests.

Our experience with this property was seamless. The team was efficient, honest and very friendly! Everything described in the post was accurate and was just as beautiful in the photos. Shanda and Jessica checked us in for the weekend and they were great! Knowing I could I call them at any time for help was great too. The pool was warm and clean, the hot tub worked great. It did get a bit cold at night, and there weren't many extra blankets/sheets anywhere, so definitely bring extra if you get colder!

Having booked for April, it would have been nice if the pool was heated, but that was a small issue for the group as the hot tub was more than sufficient. Beautiful views, lots of deck space and quiet neighborhood made this an ideal stay for our group.

This is the home for you if you want a quiet, secluded family or friend get-away. The home was clean, the bedrooms were ample and the kitchen was perfect for lots of cooking! We are looking forward to coming back in the summer when the pool is open!

We used the house for our annual Thanksgiving reunion. It was perfect. The two living room areas were perfect for those who wanted to watch different programs at the same time. The billiard table kept the younger teens happy and there was plenty of room to set the table for 20 people. We got to cook the entire meal at the house and used the pool house for the additional cooking and cold storage place.

This was my second stay at this great house and it was perfect in every way. We had six couples and a baby, and the spacious house / pool house slept all of us comfortably and with privacy. While great wine-tasting is all around, the house itself offers so many experiences...from sipping mimosas on the back deck in the morning as the sun comes up over the vineyards, to romping in the pool when it gets warm, to lunch in the bright poolhouse, to fun cooking in the spacious dinner and outdoor grill for dinner for twelve at the long dining table. We were barely motivated to leave! The management is responsive and flexible, and I already want to plan a return trip!!
