ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH has consistently been ranked in the top ten of best beaches in the United States. While you can find plenty of information on the history of the City of St. Augustine, here's some little publicized history about St. Augustine Beach which is located on Anastasia Island:
Until the mid-18th century, the St. Augustine Beach area was used as pasture land for cattle and quarries for coquina. In 1730, a businessman from New York by the name of Jessie Fish claimed the coastal land south of the lighthouse and established the local citrus industry. The Fish family cultivated this land from 1730 to 1820's. In the 1880's,
St. Augustine Beach was called South Beach. The transportation from St. Augustine was provided via the South Beach Railroad. This train brought tourists to see the alligator farm, quarries, and lighthouse and to relax along the beaches. In 1920 the first hotels in St. Augustine Beach brought tourists who enjoyed this pastoral escape from formal St. Augustine. There were no paved roads. The only way to travel was over the dunes or to drive on the beach. The history of St. Augustine Beach is closely tied to the history of early exploration in North America. The settlements of the French, British and Spanish explorers in this area played an important role in the rich history of Florida and the United States.

The condo was nice and comfy except the TV in the living room wasn’t working , the construction was really load and it went on all day , the parking lot stayed flooded the whole time . It was a wet rainy week but we had fun , relaxing and napping . Thanks for sharing your home with us .

We came to St. Augustine to tour Flagler college and found this condo to be in a wonderful location. It was my family of 4 and the space worked out perfectly. Great option when visiting.

Great unit! Clean, well provided, and perfectly positioned. Access to pool and beach are perfect. Property owner was gracious and willing to accommodate our request. This was by far one of our best finds on Vrbo! It was an amazing trip and the unit made it so. Just a great place to stay. We will certainly look to stay here again. Most excellent place.

We had a great time in St. Augustine. We loved the condo. We felt safe too. We had four adults and it was perfect. We give it four thumbs up! A very short and easy walk to the beach. The unit provided some beach chairs. Very beautiful sunrises. There are 2 good sized pools so there's plenty of room and chairs. If we ever come back to St Augustine, we would definitely stay here again. Lorraine the host was wonderful and communicates well with you, especially if you're lost at night upon arrival during heavy rain. The rain didn't t last long but it was a whopper and lorraine was patient guiding us to the unit. Thanks Lorraine! Cheers!

Condo complex was great. gardens well kept access to the beach was great. My unit had a few minor issues. (Ice maker not working, bathtub didn't hold water not able to take a bath, shower pull up stem stuck.

We enjoyed our stay albeit shortened due to our worries regarding Hurricane Idalia. However the time we spent was great. The beach as well as the pool are just a short walk from the first floor room. Lorraine made sure we were informed about the weather conditions and that our stay was comfortable.

The day we got there the air went out. Lorraine went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time even with the situation at hand. The air guys told her it would Wed or Thurs before they could fix it, she went out of her way asked her mom if sheknew anyone with an open condo for the week. We moved up to the friends condo and stayed til the air was fixed. Then we went back down to Lorraine's condo. Everyday Lorraine would call and txt to apologize and make sure we were having a good time. She also kept us updated on the air prob. She was absolutely amazing, very caring about people she had never meet. I am very greatful it was her condo and not someone else.

We had a lovely stay in this unit. We ventured out and explored St. Augustine and all it’s history as it was our first time. The condo is about 20 minutes from the historic district and a little removed from the nicer restaurants. However, the pools were fantastic and the easy access to the beach was worth being a little removed. The host was so kind and answered several questions on our first day and even checked on us. My only critique would be that it needs new bath towels, glassware and patio furniture. If you’re looking for a no frills, but very comfortable rental unit this is it!

Nice well-equiped condo. Kitchen has everything you need. Plenty of room here. St Augustine Beach is a beautiful place. Close to Old town St Augustine but on a private area of the beach. No high rise buildings anywhere. Two pools. Private Beach access. I would be happy to stay again in this same condo.

So glad I got a first floor condo- broke my ankle in May, it could still wobble out to the beach. Lovely beach with car access. Condo had everything we needed- don’t forget your beach towels! St Augustine has many fabulous restaurants & historic sites to see if you visit downtown. Thank you so much for sharing your beach getaway!

The unit was very well cared for, and the owner was very pleasant and communicative. The only reason we did not rate it as a five star was not because of the unit itself, but the fact that it is a first floor unit, and even though there are two pools, neither is heated. You do have access to an indoor heated pool in an adjoining complex .

This was our 2nd time staying here and we love it. However the linens need updated. The towels were paper thin, the bed skirts are falling off and the sheet on the master had a hole in it. The place is very peaceful and in a great location. Just a couple of tweaks and it would be perfect
