About this house rental
I am now renting again after stopping because of COVID-19; I wanted the house to be safe for myself, my precious village and visitors. So I am now open for business, but still no dogs of any size and only children who are well supervised by parents or grandparents due to my furnishings and fact i live here. My village requires masks in the heart and in its shops, restaurants and more, so if you come please observe safety. Grocery stores are well stocked and you can also get deliveries or take-out. I have been ultracareful; nobody has been sick here and hope to keep it that way. I have stayed well. Please come only if you are 100% well and from a safe area. I prefer that you be vaccinated. I cannot reduce the rates but they are fair for the area, so please do not ask for a discount. There are places to do work if you are working from home--a built-in desk upstairs, two tables in the dining room, two desks in two of the bedrooms and other areas. Wi-Fi is strong, bathrooms new, have a lovely backyard and front porch, too. Games such as croquet, jigsaw puzzles, Monopoly, a piano, TVs, central air upstairs with a UV filter light system, and a unit downstairs in the window. I love to cook so plenty of utensils and a Nespresso machine. No pets at all; children who respect an antique homes and fine belongings please. This is my home and I love it so it's not a group of spare rooms but with comfortable furnishings, books and more. Know that it's an old house so there are minimal closets, however. Have fun here as I do. Thanks for thinking of coming to my very special village, a true gem. Also, the library has reopened and the village offers lots of great walks for fresh air and sights of people, tennis and pickle ball courts.
Nearby is Bard, Marist and Vassar colleges, the C.I.A., the Walkway across the Hudson, FDR's home and library, 1 hour plus away is the Berkshires for real country., and another hour away is Litchfield County, gorgeous bucolic scenery.
The village also has tennis courts, pickleball, a playground.
There are always clean sheets and towels, plenty of dishes, a dishwasher and laundry equipment.

Our stay at the beautiful historic home in Rhinebeck, New York was absolutely fantastic. The place was super clean and well-maintained, making us feel comfortable right from the start. We were warmly greeted by the most accomplished woman, who was delightful and hospitable. She even welcomed us with bagels and the most delicious brownies, which was a thoughtful touch.
The host was incredibly flexible and accommodating, ensuring that our stay was as smooth as possible. The house was not only clean and comfortable but also thoughtfully stocked with everything one could need or may have forgotten. The presence of beautiful artifacts and art pieces throughout the home added a touch of charm and told a story of its own.
Overall, our experience staying in Rhinebeck was truly delightful. The home was perfectly located to the quaint town. I highly recommend this historic home to anyone looking for a cozy and well-cared-for accommodation in a beautiful setting.

Several of us met up, from Wisconsin, Maine and Seattle, for a visit in Rhinebeck. The house was everything we asked for. Had a nice initial visit out on the back patio, beneath the cherry tree blossoms. The house was clean, well-kept and very comfortable. Barbara graciously left us supplied with fresh-baked brownies and some fresh bagels from nearby. Dining and living rooms made for nice gathering spots on a rainy Sunday. Very comfortable bedrooms. Short walk to downtown and the restaurants and coffee shops. I very much recommend Barbara's home for a rental.

We were in town for the Sinterklass celebration and this home was in the perfect location! So easy to walk to shops and restaurants during our stay. Our host was very easy to communicate with and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our time in Rhinebeck. She went above and beyond. There were even fresh brownies! The home itself was very clean. It is beautiful and was brimming with art and charm! My husband and I, our two kids and my parents were all very comfortable. Plenty of sleeping options, with super comfy bedding. This home is well appointed and clearly well cared for. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We had a lovely time in this charming property to visit my sister who lives about 10 minutes away. You can't ask for a better location; it's within a quick walk to all of the beautiful shops and restaurants in the village. The host was lovely and baked us brownies and muffins, and met us onsite to make sure we were settled. We will definitely be coming back.

Charming Victorian style home in the center of Rhinebeck, walking distance to town’s restaurants, shops, Sunday market. Easy driving distance to multiple attractions, from Hyde Park to West Point to Hudson. Lots to see and do, with a lovely back yard waiting when it’s time to kick back and relax.

We had a wonderful stay at this in-town home in Rhinebeck. The host was great, quick to respond to all questions and concerns about the property and whats around town. The house accommodated our party of 5, a great opportunity to spend a girls/family get-away. We poked around the quaint historic town of Rhinebeck, back to the house for pre-dinner cocktails, and then back out to dinner, all on foot and without stress or travel planning.
Our host was so sweet, we arrived to find bagels and juice and even home-made brownies. Plus, I even had a chance to practice my piano skills on her baby grand.
Highly recommend this rental!

Barbara’s property is beautiful. It really is a home that is well cared for, and we enjoyed the decorative touches, books everywhere, comfortable furniture, the history of the home and the area. It is within perfect walking distance to the center of Rhinebeck, has a gorgeous yard, and plenty of space to spread out. I really appreciated that Barbara was there at arrival to walk me through and that she made us feel very welcome-from baked brownies and milk, coffee and bagels to extra toothbrushes and toiletries, all so thoughtful. Thank you for a much-needed relaxing, comfortable stay!

Barbara, our host, really went out of her way to provide tips on local attractions and dining, plus homemade brownies and fresh flowers, bagels, and more! Full of character in an excellent location
This is a meticulously maintained old house that has all the quirks and is still cozy and comfortable. We were here for one night over Memorial Day weekend and while the weather didn’t cooperate, the house was great. Walking distance to restaurants with a cute, quiet backyard area. Host was accessible and easy to communicate with!

Great house, great village location
The house is charming—we immediately felt at home. It is literally in Rhinebeck village and a five minute walk to lovely shops and restaurants. Bruce and Barbara were terrific hosts and were very anxious to make us feel welcomed and comfortable—and they succeeded. Our family was celebrating a special event and we could not have picked a better location. Thank you, Barbara and Bruce.

Charming Home in the Heart of Rhinebeck
We visit Rhinebeck for the Sinterklaas festival every year (8 years now) - and decided to try Barbara’s home given the great location, which made the weekend much easier for us and our kids to enjoy all the festivities. We enjoyed Barbara’s house - and would recommend the property as long as you are comfortable staying at someone’s actual home as this is not a typical VRBO-dedicated rental. Because this is Barbara’s home, she is very careful, which is totally understandable...Anyway, we will likely book again for next year!

Nice albeit a bit overly precious
Barbara kindly accepted my husband and baby daughter and me to stay even though apparently she normally doesn't accept children. We were coming up last minute to do some volunteer work and attend an event. The house is extremely well located, walkable to town. It's an antique Victorian, decorated a bit like a dollhouse (in fact, there's a big dollhouse in one of the rooms). Plenty of space and Barbara thoughtfully provided cider and bagels, which were great for a snack, and some other cereals and cookies which were nice but we didn't eat. The fridge was stocked with kitchen basics and there's a good coffee machine. Our only issue was that Barbara and her boyfriend were quite nervous -- maybe it's because we were bringing a baby, who we of course watched carefully and never caused a problem. Barbara's boyfriend insisted on walking us through the house rules extensively in person when we arrived, which I've never experienced in years of renting people's homes, and also had wanted to come to the house to check it before we left, although we ended up having to leave early. All of this communicated a sense of mistrust out of the gate. Then Barbara was quite nervous when I hadn't received a message for the house's second payment and called me on my cell before I'd even received the HomeAway payment request. It felt excessive-- there's a certain amount of trust that needs to be extended when you rent your home, and it felt like Barbara and her boyfriend were on some level uncomfortable with having people in the home, which was especially stressful considering the incredibly steep nightly rate. Not the easiest rental experience we've ever had -- and we were EXTRA careful making sure the home was in great condition when we left -- but all in all it's a nice home in a fantastic location.

Great location
Enjoyed the house and being able to walk to restaurants and shopping. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. I would only suggest more comfortable seating in the living room and clearing things off of the counter tops. It's too cluttered still a great time!

Charming house steps away from town
Loved the stay. A spacious home with multiple bedrooms and seperate family room and living room. The host had bagels and a bottle of Prosecco to greet us and that was a nice touch. Town is so close you will be easily walking to shops and restaurants.
