You’ll love our condo with elegant furnishings and décor. We are located on the north side of the bay, just off the highway, by Punta Esmeralda. Being right on the beach with 10th floor direct western exposure provides million dollar ocean views with sunrise and sunsets over Banderas Bay. This is our private getaway, yet 3 minutes from 100 + restaurants in Bucerias. Shopping, nightlife, and all activities are just minutes away. At Barlovento we have 2 pools, the beach and an exercise room. Our condo has 3 flat screen TVs with Satellite service, DVD player, free WIFI, a 25' terrace with BBQ grill, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, full size laundry in the condo, and everything set up for full time living. Quality bedding and linens are provided. The unit is tastefully decorated with local art and comfortable furnishings. The dining room has a beautiful full sized white onyx table with 6 chairs and the living room has an extensive pit group that includes recliners, a chaise lounge and a sofa bed. There is a king bed in the master and two twins in the second bedroom which can be slid together to produce another king bed. Walk the beach for 20 minutes to Bucerias beachfront restaurants. We have gated, with 24 hour security, underground parking with 2 spaces for cars. We are 35 minutes from Puerto Vallarta airport on the main highway. It is private, but convenient, with Bus and Taxi service just outside the door.
BARLOVENTO is a newer 38 unit beachfront condominium property. It is a private getaway but just 3 minutes north, by car or taxi, from the wonderful village of Bucerias with its authentic Mexican charm, over 100 restaurants (many right on the beach), local treasure hunt shopping, art galleries and friendly people. About ten minutes south is Nuevo Vallarta, where you have entertainment, excitement, water park, swimming with dolphins, fantastic excursions and shopping. Downtown Puerto Vallarta is just 35 minutes further south, with all its historic old world setting and activities. 5 minutes to the north is La Cruz and then luxurious Punta Mita, and about 30 minutes north of us are the quaint surfing villages of Sayulita & San Pancho.
This is a BEACHFRONT property on beautiful Banderas Bay with million dollar views of the Pacific Ocean. Banderas Bay has over 100 km of coastline and beaches surrounded by the majestic Sierra Madres mountains. This is the birthing place for the HUMPBACK WHALES and the year-round home to thousands of dolphins. Have you ever wondered where the whales all go when they head south for the winter? They are right here, in Banderas Bay! Whale-watching tours are available during the months of November through March.
Start your morning with an invigorating 40-minute beach walk to the Bucerias' beachfront restaurants for breakfast, have a professional massage on the beach for about before walking back or taking a 3-minute taxi ride home. Or you could stay and spend the day shopping at the outdoor markets, stroll across the Kissing Bridge, and explore the Gold Coast restaurants on the other side. Stay and dine on the beach, or go watch a hockey or football game at YoYo Mo's and enjoy their AMAZING pizza! Go hear live classic rock music at Jax's, then get a churro from one of the outdoor vendors before heading back home to your place! On Wednesday nights, our local beach bar "Sukha's" features local live bands, and is just a short 5-10 walk from our condo. You can also take quick cab rides almost everywhere.
RECREATION – When you want a break from relaxing and soaking up the sun at Barlovento’s pools and beach, there is much to choose from. Well known Vallarta Adventures has something for everyone – check their website for unforgettable experiences. You can take a boat ride to a remote mountain spot in the bay and ride mules up into the mountains, then zip line over the jungle, repel down a 100 foot waterfall to swim in its cool waters below, then zip line and waterslide your way down the mountain to the boat. There is also first-class water park with a lazy river nearby. For fishing, Banderas Bay has Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna and Mahi Mahi and is home to International Tournaments. Fishing here is fantastic. Horseback riding on the beach or in the mountains or four-wheeling adventures are great fun-filled days.
WATER SPORTS – Surfing, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, kayaking, jet skis, sailing, parasailing are all right there for you.
GOLF courses abound in the area with courses in all ranges from Jack Nicklaus to simple public courses.
DINING- You could stay 6 months at our condo eating at great restaurants every day and never go to any of them twice, but you’ll find yourself going back to your favorites where they come to know you. Enjoy fresh fish and shrimp daily right from the bay at the restaurants, or cook your own fresh fish on our grill, from the La CRUZ Seafood Market, which is at the water’s edge and only 5 minutes from our condo. Watch the fishermen bring in their catch and choose your dinner right there, at ridiculously low prices. They will fillet it in front of you!
SHOPPING - Supermarkets - Mega, La Comer, Chedraui, and Walmart are the main stores. Chedrai is our favorite, because the cash machines are inside the building, and the store has great values on most household items, not just groceries. The cab ride to Chedraui is about 5 minutes from our condo. Once you have completed shopping and stocking up, just take your cart outside and there is always a cab driver waiting to give provide a ride home. Always ask "how much" first, before entering any cab. It's typically about 120 PESOS each way, depending on the time of year. There is also a Costco is in Puerto Vallarta. Plan to earmark about 800-1000 pesos for a cab ride to the airport, from our place.
RELAX - Anything you could want on your Mexican vacation is minutes away, yet you can rest, get away from it all and enjoy your privacy, at Barlovento. Meet the wonderful people from Canada, USA and Mexico, who will be at our beachfront pool. It is not a big resort, so you meet and get to know your neighbors, whether they are full-time residents or vacationers like yourselves. We have made many friends during our stays at Barlovento. Enjoy the beach, free of beach vendors to interrupt your leisure.
CONVENIENCE – shopping, dining, clubs, nightlife, city life and limitless recreation are minutes away from your tranquil retreat.
SAFETY – Puerto Vallarta’s big welcome sign says “Friendliest City in the World." It is very safe here and the locals are kind and very friendly.
HEALTH – The area has good food, pure water and first-class hospitals and medical services. Big Jug Bottled water is available in blue jugs in the garage area, for a minimal amount of money (50 pesos, as of February 2024).
Additional maid service can be arranged during your stay for an extra charge.
COMMUNITY WORKOUT ROOM- As of last spring 2023, we have air conditioning in the LOWER POOL LEVEL GYM!
This is not a loud, all-inclusive, resort-style kind of place. Here is where you put your towel on a lounge chair and look up at the clouds in the sky, your mind escapes the stresses of life as the sound of ocean waves washes your cares away. Come and relax here! It's where WE GO! We hope you love it as much as we do!

Impressive property with multiple pools, beach access, secure parking, and helpful hosts. The unit is well-appointed with spacious rooms and great views. Enjoyed the pools and friendly neighbors. Highly recommend!

From the secure entry, multiple pools and beach access to the stunningly appointed 2 bedroom unit this condo was wonderful. Pick up is out front and you're literally minutes from all the quaint town of Bucerias has to offer. Have your own car? Secure parking spot is available. Next time we will stay longer, grab groceries and chillax on property a bit more.

We found the hosts of this property very committed to ensuring we had an enjoyable stay. We had a few issues that Suzanne did her absolute best to try to resolve. The unit is quite nice, good sized bedrooms and living area. Kitchen is a little small but manageable and modestly equipped.
A couple of things to be aware of:
We did NOT have a vehicle with us so we relied on public transit, taxis and some walking. However, this is not a pedestrian friendly location. The building is right off busy highway so walking there is very uncomfortable. Walking the beach is manageable, however it is quite rocky, and you can only walk it at low tide. Second, the road noise from the highway is significant and non stop.
The building complex has two beautiful pools which we thoroughly enjoyed. The support staff in the building are very helpful as are the neighbors.

When we finally got in to the condo and got water and gas because nobody was aware of our arrival everything was good.

Beautiful Views but a bit noisy and isolated
The unit had great views of Banderas Bay from living room and master bedroom. Great parking. Lots of noise in from highway and AC condensers outside front of unit. Nice AV systems but difficult to use. Bring you own device to connect. Needed to drive to get to activities beyond wonderful pools onsite

Great Unit!
We had a great stay a Mike's place. The unit was very clean and spacious. The building is well maintained and secure and the pools are amazing. the only downside to the unit is it on the more secluded end of the beach which means you are a short cab ride away from the restaurants an main beach.

Great Week
We very much enjoyed our stay in this Bucerias Condo.
The Condo was very nice and modern inside. The view is great, and the grounds including two pools is also very nice. We spent a lot of time on the deck looking out at the ocean and by the pool.
We also walked into town every day along the beach and did go to a nearby, very nice restaurant several times. The food was really good.
Things to know: The walk to town is about 40 minutes along the beach. The location marker on VRBO wasn't perfectly accurate. There isn't any other way to walk, otherwise you need to rent a car or get a cab which is easy to get. Also, construction noise is not a problem anymore as the other two buildings are mostly done. You do get a bit of road noise.
Property management is super responsive. Also the people at the condo are very nice.
We had a very nice week.

Unit 402
Lovely condo-all amenities needed and nicely appointed and equipped. Only negative is highway noise from behind building that is very noticeable by entrance/kitchen area and in second bedroom, as well as out on front while sitting on veranda. Otherwise we do recommend this unit.

A mixed bag.
On the upside the condo unit is clean, safe and secure. Nice eating space on the deck. Bedrooms large and beds comfortable. Bathrooms nice and showers very good. TV, wi fi, laundry all worked well Grounds very well kept and swimming pools are large with comfortable lounge chairs. On site staff Pedro and Carlos are friendly and helpful.
We were disappointed with the amount of construction going on next door. Although the owner alerted us to this activity, we found it quite annoying. The construction also has reduced the view of the bay and beach. It is a 40 minute walk to Bucerías so a car is really necessary. The beach out front is quite rocky and not very suitable for swimming. And the kitchen cookwear and smaller appliances (blender was broken) can use some updating.

Great condo.....
All you need to have a great vacation, good staff, good location, clean & updated. Owner 100% responsive to all questions.
A little noise from construction, but, to be expected.

Our New home away from home!
We’ve been coming to Vallarta for over 35 years and this is not our favorite place. Mike is the best property owner/manager that we’ve ever worked with. He was so thorough and answered every question we had. His place is decorated purely Mexican. We love the fact that we can use the balcony morning noon or night there’s always shade. The pools are spectacular. We never had to worry about getting a chair. The area is fantastic and the transportation is wonderful. Really good restaurants in Bucerias & la Cruz! Not to. Far of a trip into Nuevo. Hope to come back sometime.

Great View & Amazing Heated Pool!!!
We had the best time in Bucerias staying at the Barlovento condo. The views are awesome, the condo really comfortable, with everything you need. Michael has a supply of laundry soap and different pantry items that we were able to use and were grateful not to have to run out to shop for. We also really appreciated the ease of checking in and the digital door locks. This made things so easy. The owner also provides a very comprehensive list of information that is great to reference when you are there. It has great restaurants and just a bunch of great information in it. My favorite thing about Barlovento was the amazing heated Pool. They have two pools there but I especially loved the family pool down by the ocean. It is very large and the temperature was perfect. The poolside chairs were lovely and padded and it was never hard to get a chair. The people there were friendly and really lovely to have a conversation with. The beds in the condo were comfortable which is something I always look for. This was our first time to Bucerias, since we usually just spend all of our time in Puerto Vallarta. I am so glad we decided to come to Bucerias and Barlovento condos this trip. We had the best time. Thanks Michael for sharing your condo with us!!!

Condo and facilities were very nice. Everything kept up perfectly. There was condo construction next door which was unfortunate but tolerable.

Barloventa
Barloventa is a lovely property, beautifully appointed and with all the things you need to have a great stay. The staff were attentive to any requests and were very responsive to simple requests like a lightbulb replacement. The WIFI is excellent and robust. This property is a short ride from the town centre and we found taxis were plentiful and affordable.
There are adjacent construction projects that, depending of the work underway, were more or less intrusive. This was the only disadvantage to the site. Once the construction was over for the evening the patios were a lovely place to sit and revel in the warmth and the sound of the sea.

Barlovento 402
We enjoyed our stay here, very comfortable and clean and also has everything you need and more. The location was a bit farther out then I thought. It was an hour walk on the beach to Bucerías. We quickly learned how to use the local bus/van system and for 12 pesos each we were in town within 5 minutes. There was construction noise during the day but we did enjoy watching how they build things in Mexico so it was entertaining for us! Thanks for sharing your part of Mexico with us!

so.much.construction.noise.
This condo is beautiful, well maintained, and secure. Staff (security guards and on-site property managers) are friendly and helpful. It is in a beautiful location, although at almost the furthest point north in Bucerias (toward La Cruz), so walking in to town is about 25 minutes along the beach, which is fairly rocky in parts, including directly in front of the building (so no easy swimming access right in front of the condo).
BUT, OH, THE NOISE!!! Construction is ongoing and seemingly non-stop on BOTH sides of the building - DIRECTLY beside the building. This will apparently be going on for another couple of years.
So - if you find Mexican building practices fascinating (we ended up watching the process for entertainment - really!), want to stay in a beautiful, well maintained place with all the modern conveniences, appliances, and comfortable beds, and don't mind a walk or Uber ride to get to restaurants or the Mega or exploring - and you really DON'T mind a LOT of noise during daylight hours, I highly recommend this place.
However, if you are looking for a place that you can sit in the sun relaxing and listening to the ocean and tropical birdsong, and you want to step out the door and around the corner for food or entertainment, this should - regrettably - be a pass.

Amazing view
Pros... there's no doubt the view is amazing! We were able to enjoy whale watching and seeing dolphins from the balcony, magical! The pools are wonderful, a beautiful 25m lap pool was used daily and there's a 2nd pool closer to the beach which was also well, used. Condo really well laid out and had everything you could need except a teapot! (Not a biggie).
Cons....location is quite a ways from Bucerias, you can definitely get there on the beach but rocky initially. This condo is phase 1 of 3 , they are working on the 2 other phases as we speak so from 8am-8pm we heard jackhammer etc, difficult to enjoy the pools/balcony during those hours!

Beautiful condo with loud construction noise
My spouse and I booked the Barlovento to have some peace and quiet , warm weather and beach time. The condo was very well appointed, with comfortable furniture, a cook’s kitchen, and great artistic touches. The property had two lovely pools and an accommodating staff. What was distressing to us was the amount of noise due to the construction of a large condo complex right next door. The hammering, banging and grinding went on from 8 a m to 6 p m Monday through Friday with a lunch break from 1-2 p m daily, and half day Saturday. In our experience, sitting on the beautiful balcony looking out over the bay was not a relaxing experience during the construction timeframe. Traffic noise from the nearby highway is a constant, but drowned out during the day. We found the beach to be very rocky until one walks about 200 yards past the Barlovento, where there is a beautiful stretch of sandy beach to the town of Bucerias, about a 50 minute walk. Mike provides a thorough and helpful introduction to the property and its surroundings.

Had a great time!! Beautiful condo and love the area, close enough to walk to bucerias
We had a great time and our daughter and her boyfriend joined us for a week. Beautiful condo, some noise from the construction next door. Thanks to the owner Mike gave us lot of information about the area and the building. It's close enough to bucerias to walk the beach into the town. Only a short cab ride if we had to many drinks. Great restaurants and entertainment.
The Barlovento is a wonderful building. Great staff ,Carlos, Jorge and Christian made us feel very special always greeting us a with big smiles. Will definitely be returning in the future

"Best vacation ever" said daughter.
This is a lovely condo, richly furnished, beautifully decorated with original art, very clean, and with all the comforts of home. To say that the kitchen is “fully equipped” is an understatement: I even found an onion holder, one of my favorite gadgets. We stayed for two weeks in February and didn’t want to leave.
There were a couple of minor maintenance inconveniences. I mention this only to report that the owner and property manager rapidly responded to and resolved the inconveniences in less than 24 hours.
We got many beautiful photos of the sunrise, nearly every day of our stay. The view of the bay is superb, and I enjoyed watching people harvest oysters not far off the beach. The beach is pretty rocky in this spot, but walking just a few yards took us to soft sand.
The pools were never crowded, and had water that was refreshing and the perfect temperature. There are plenty of movable umbrellas for those who want a break from the sun in paradise.
There are two excellent restaurants very close by, both on the beach, and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was convenient and easy to hop on a white van or bus to go downtown for dining or shopping, avoiding the cost of a taxi: We just stepped outside the Barlovento front door and waved down the frequently-passing vans. Even without a car, it’s an easy trip to Mega for groceries and supplies, but you’ll probably want to take a taxi back if you have lots of bags. We especially appreciated the shopping carts in the parking garage which are available to transport your purchases up to the condo.
Note that there is construction next door, but the sounds never annoyed us. We also never noticed the highway noise that some reviewers mention, except when were on our way out of Barlovento.
Thank you for the fine hospitality, Mike!

Clean, comfortable, quiet, safe with captivating views!!
My husband and I had a very nice visit here at Barlovento! This unit is equipped with all of the necessary amenities. The sea views from this unit are simply marvelous, located nicely in Banderas Bay. We enjoyed the 2 pools and beach access. Walked to Star Bay just to the south for afternoon fish tacos and a nice breakfast too. We took the bus and mini van taxi's everywhere including Sayulita, old town Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta, day trips through Bucerias and La Cruz. This was a special experience for us to hang with the locals each day. Also the weather this time of year is glorious, in the mid 80's. Juan Carlos, facilities manager and Jorge the security guard were very helpful, and friendly in guiding local attractions and advising which buses to take to each location. They organized an Uber driver to pick us up back to the airport on our last day. We did shop and Mega and La Comer stores for basic food items and bottled water with good success. All in all, a wonderful trip!! Thanks Mike

Great condo, great location!
We were at Barlovento for 5 weeks. Everything that we needed was in the condo, very well equipped and nicely decorated with beautiful art. The view was spectacular! We very much enjoyed the two pools. The property managers were nice and helpful. We were able to arrange, through the manager, someone to come pick us up at the airport and make a stop at the Mega for a few supplies. We visited Bucérias, La Cruz, Sayeluta and Puerto Vallarta. The best restaurants you will find are in Bucérias, 10 minutes from the condo by taxi or 25 minutes by foot. We are looking forward to return.

Birthday on the beach
Mike was excellent at communicating with us through emails. We arranged through his property manager, Teresa, pick up and drop off at the airport. It was so great to see someone standing at the exit doors holding a sign with our last name on it. This was our first trip to Puerto Vallarta. On our way to Barlovento we stopped at the Mega grocery store to pick up some food supplies. Super store and everyone is so helpful.
The condo is fantastic. Everything you could ever need is there. We must say the king bed in the master suite is so comfortable. We even wrote down the make to look into purchasing one for home.
The view is to die for. We watched a lightening storm over Puerto Vallarta one evening. It was spectacular. We enjoyed the sunrise and sunset. The sunset is great to see from down on the beach.
I might add there is a lot of noise from the highway which will probably go away in 2 years as the inland highway should be finished then. My son slept in the back room and had to wear ear plugs every night.
Sadly during our 7 day stay at Barlovento the big pool by the ocean had no water in it as it was being retiled. We were very disappointed about this as we are water babies. There is the lap pool but you hear the highway noise all the time. Plus maintenance was power washing the concrete for 2 days of our vacation on the level of the lap pool. Not very relaxing. Not sure why they could not have done that after the big pool was filled so people have an option to go there when maintenance is working.
We took the taxi to Sayulita for the day. A wonderful little town just north of Bucerias. If you have the time go see the town.
My son and husband went on the Vallarta Extreme adventure. They had a blast. You cannot take your camera but at the end you can buy video and photos from the company. We paid 85.00cad for a package which we thought was not to bad. 5 video clips and a bunch of photos. Our 14 year old son had his first shot of tequila on the bus ride back to Nuevo.LOL
We celebrated my husbands birthday in Bucerias going for dinner at Mezzogiorno (Italian). Veronica the property manager made reservations for us and asked if they could make a chocolate dessert for his birthday. Fransico had a taxi waiting for us and off we went to the restaurant. We were not disappointed. They sang happy birthday and brought the dessert with writing on it and a candle. The meal was fantastic.
You have to walk down the beach to get to a sandy section.

Relaxing Condo with amazing views
My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Bucerias and stayed at this condo and it was incredible. The condo is exactly as pictured if not even better in person and the property was to die for. Everything you need is right there, all kitchen gadgets, bathroom towels, grill, washer and dryer, and we found this especially convenient and ended up purchasing all groceries from the Mega and cooking ourselves. The pools are beautiful and the beach is serene. Early September was the perfect time to go, we were two of the only people there for the entire week which made for a relaxing stay. We would highly recommend this condo and stay here again in the future. Thank you Mike!
