Thank you for sharing your home with us. House was perfect for our wants and location was beautiful!
Recommend triming back entrance trees, we missed the drive serveral times plus they brushed the top and sides of our truck. Otherwise the house needs coasters for all the sweaty drinks. The dryer did not work for us but found a laundry mat. 🙃

Our family of 4 stayed here for a week over spring break. Great location right on the beach and close to things to do but far enough out that the beach wasn't crowded at all. We were able to bring our dog which was great. No, it's not a high end place with fancy finishes and tons of updates. It's an older house that is rented out and you get what comes along with that. If you want the Ritz, fork out more money for a newer place. If you have used lots of vrbo's before and understand what you are paying for this is a great place.

House was clean, everything worked and was as described. View was great from the deck.

Recommend a heads up about the construction next door. The contractors were parking on both sides of driveway, making it difficult to safely exit the property. Trash was left in front of garage doors when we arrived. It could have been broken down and placed into the trash receptacles outside. Ceiling fan large back bedroom and globes in hallway bathroom were dirty, otherwise the place was clean. The view was awesome. The front purchase furniture had been freshly painted, but the paint was flaking off the metal parts. Again, the view was awesome. I would stay again. :)

We were only there for 2 nights. Short but awesome stay. Closest we've even been to the Ocean and oh so worth it. Views were amazing.

The overall atmosphere was great. The vacation was very relaxing. The only problem we had was the cleaning of the house, the bedding and pillows was not clean. The bed skirt was dirty. Under the beds was not clean.
The shower curtain needed to be replaced.
The following comments we mentioned is just a few things that needed to be done at each cleaning.
Other than that the trip was great.
Thank you

Good location but that is the only positive thing we can say about this house. Definitely not worth what we paid for the week’s stay. Cramped; not adequate for even four people. Not enough towels or silverware. Uncomfortable, old, dirty furniture. We enjoyed the beach, but future renters should know that the beach is not sand. Because of renourishment, it is crushed shells.

We enjoyed our stay. The pictures are an accurate reflection of the home. It was just what we needed but is in no way a luxury property. It is in a great location. On another note, the property to the south of the house is currently under construction, and while we were there a roll off dumpster was delivered to the house to the north which means they are getting ready to start working on that property as well. All that to say, there could be quite a bit of construction noise for the next couple months.

Location excellent beach perfect However the home needs a major major update to include couches, patio furniture, and beds. A Also, the cleaning is filthy. The mattresses are stained and smell like pee. Bathroom is very outdated the AC filter vent is disgusting. Also there are alot of safety hazards with too many items plugged in the same area I actually got shocked. The stairs going up to the house and down to the beach or a hazard in themselves very disappointment and the house itself but the location and the beach was perfect.

This house has some bad reviews, but it is well described in the listing and is perfectly located. We had no surprises and enjoyed this older cottage and beautiful beach. The house was clean, communication was great and the location can't be beat. This was our first time at Flagler beach... we will definitely be back and would stay in this house again.

Poor communication from property manager. Never followed up like promised.
Dirty home. Ducts were not cleaned. Ants on kitchen counters everyday. I know this was a worn out beach home. But please spend a little money and clean up the little things. Beach and view great! Deck was nice. Washer & dryer worked. Home was kept cool. Entrance of driveway is hidden by overgrown trees.

Great location, great porch, but house needs updates
Overall we had a good time, but if the house were updated just a little, this would be a slam dunk. The area and the location of this property were perfect. The house was clean, but seemed to need a deep cleaning. Updating the kitchen appliances really needs to be done.

This property needs some help. To get into the house, you need to climb 15 steps that are in fair
to climb 15 stairs, making it difficult to lug your belongings up or down the stairs. This is very dangerous! The inside, which is spacious , needs to have the kitchen redone----too many old dishes, etc. We ended up going to Walmart for plates and tolerated the glasses, etc. Living room furniture needs to be cleaned. Found the iron but the ironing board in the garage is broken. The dog loved the porch and thanks to our gates was safe. I would say in general that the house was "tired".

Nice location but still needs updating
Before booking we saw some of the same negative reviews that summarize how we feel. The management claims to have addressed these issues so we decided to give it a shot but don’t believe it. Home has mildew issues, needs new furniture. The patio furniture looks to have been an assortment of chairs blown in by the last hurricane and they are filthy. Owners obviously use this as a cash cow and have very little interest in making it a nice place. No instructions about trash pickup etc so make sure to ask that. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. Many places in this price point that aren’t in this condition.

short vacation great place
location, location, LOCATION... IT'S GO IT. great place, doesn't get any better. The upkeep has alot to be said for. very dated, lots of rust on any metal, dire need of furniture upgrades, the great deck furniture needs salvation army. the wifi had incorrect login and password, typical rental cheap cooking gear, beds were ok as long as you don't need a king.
Flagler beach area is fantastic if your not into the typical florida condo scene.
In all, if your into the sound of crashing waves, great beach to walk on... it's a go....

Beachfront was the best part
I loved the location of this house in painters hill. It is a quaint little home, very private, and not many people on the beach which was great. However, my allergies started acting up as soon as I arrived at the house. I felt like I was coming down with a cold, my husband had the same issue. We suspect it’s mold. The interior of the home looked like it had been painted over and over, which was a little odd. Also, the home needed a much better cleaning, in fact, were we arrived i drove to Publix to buy disinfectant and cleaning supplies and cleaned the place myself. I found old cupcakes in the cupboard, very dusty and the floors hadn’t been cleaned well at all, so that needs to be addressed. I definitely would not bring small children to this home because it wasn’t very clean. That being said, the location was the best part of my stay.

Hidden Gem in Paradise
Our Family of 6 stayed here for 8 days! The location of this house is everything!! It is literally right on the beach! We fell in love with this little home and town! We hope to return every year! It is an older property that could use some updating and new bed linens and definitely a new living room rug however, the view and location of this home made up for that! You will not be sorry for renting this place! We enjoyed our stay very much! It’s like having your own private beach!

Great location
This was a great rental, it's in a great location, not too far from St Augustine or Daytona and some great little restaurants right there in Flagler! The house was great, the only thing I would have changed would be have the king size bed in the "master" which overlooks the beach. The deck is great to sit on and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. I would definitly recommend this one.

Super private and ocean could not be closer!
What a perfect week! My husband and I loved the place. It was just what was expected. Yes, older property as advertised but optimal for beaching every day. The constant breeze, the sound of the waves would put us to sleep every night and so private! Just a few walkers each day and neighbors on the beach but most of the time we had everything to ourselves. Loved it! I would sunbath on the upper retaining wall level with the white smooth sand. I am not sure what restrictions they have on cutting back the plant growth but wish a few of the long vines on the white sand could be cut back so I do not trip or they take over the nice white sand. Walked our dogs on the beach by the water multiple times a day. One suggestion is the sand by the water can be rough as it is not fine but crunched up shells(I think). Bring river or swim shoes that sand cannot easily get into if your feet are soft at all for long walks on the beach. Shell collectors will be in heaven. Only surprise was the on-suite bathroom in the back bedroom was very small to shower in so we just used the main bathroom with a tub. The shower heads are very low which is common in older homes. I am over 6’ so was doing back bends to wash my hair. Would love if they could switch those out for ones that go up higher. It would make anyone over 5’ 10” much happier. Property management company was great as well. When I sent an email with some needed help they sent someone and it was handled in 24 hours. Kitchen had pretty much everything we needed and we cooked a lot. Only thing I missed was better tongs to grab bacon or flip things. The tongs they had were more for grilling than in-door cooking. Oh, and if you plan to cook while there make sure to bring aluminum foil, plastic wrap, zip lock bags etc as they are not supplied. If you are looking for dog-friendly, quiet, peaceful retreat that you can rest and soak in the sun you should rent this one. No more dragging 1000 pounds of stuff on and off the beach every day. No more worry about getting some shade/bathroom/food while beaching. Just walk up your stairs and you are there. Wonderful!

Overall this was a very pleasant experience, but there were some drawbacks. The location was superb, the direct access to the beach was fantastic, and the roof over the deck was great. However, the bed linens were close to sandpaper and didn't fit well, and there weren't enough large towels for 6 people. The main bedroom was so small you had to turn sideways to go between the end of the bed and the closets. The kitchen was very small, and there were adequate pots, pans, and dishes, but no spices or kitchen staples. Some type of window blinds on the living room windows would be helpful. The TV in the living room was excellent. However the TV in one bedroom got only a few local channels and the TV in the other bedroom played only (maybe) DVDs. The house was private, separated by palms and scrub plants, but a little bit of lawn would have been nice.
2.5 / 5.0
The house was exactly how it was pictured. A little older but, that didn't bother us. The only downside was the TV's in both bedrooms only played DVDs. I wish I knew that ahead of time so we could had brought some. The house has a large covered back porch and the beach is directly down the stairs. The beach was very secluded. Not a lot of people on it. The house felt private since the trees were overgrown. I do wish there was a little bit of the yard kept. I had to walk my dogs out by the road since there was no grassy area. The house had everything we needed. Nice living room TV, plenty of kitchen stuff, plenty of room for 4 people and 2 dogs. My no means is the house "fancy" but, I liked that because we had dogs and didn't feel like they would mess anything up. The town was great! Small and not busy. Quick drive to Publix ad food. I would stay again.

Beautiful view
Overall experience was great, couldnt beat the location and shells galore! Only issue was we couldnt lower blinds ( tied in knots) in lvrm during the day and the sun shined on tv to where you couldnt see it...but that only bothered my 12 yr old...lol, rest of us were outside!! Would def recommend and rent again!

Needs an entire make over!
Beds old and stained mattresses and bedding re covers and quilt. Stove is simply all wrong! Cabinets old and laminate on doors peeling off. Living room furniture needs cleaning ... Everything outdated and falling apart. No tv hook up in second bedroom. Deck has nails and splinter wood popping up. House location is perfect and the house style is nice . . . . But it needs some TLC.

In need to repair
Needs several repairs to this property.
You have to walk up a flight of stairs on the outside of the house to get to the front door. This includes in the rain with groceries. My party had older aduts with joint issues and this was hard on them. The garage is very outdated our 2015 Traverse would not fit through the garage door,, nor would our 2016 Chevy Z71 Truck. There is no acces from inside the garage to the upstairs.
If you are just lookin for a place to sleep only and enjoy the beach this would be a good fit for you.

Didn't tell all
First the good news: The Beach location, view and experience was wonderful. The beach was clean and we had it almost all to ourselves. Stunning morning sunrise and expansive 180 degree view of the ocean. The beach sand is a little coarse and more orange collared than we are used to further south and on the Gulf coast. But closer to the house and atop the seawall there is very nice fine white sand - maybe due to town planning or maybe a natural result of winds blowing off the ocean - just for information.
It is unfortunate that the area is still recovering from the Hurricane damage. 1/3 of the houses on this stretch of beach are either in an incomplete state of repair or are still boarded up looking abandoned. Of note the town (I assume) has completed a very good new seawall / retaining wall along in front of the houses and there are nice new stairsteps down to the beach in front of all of the houses, including this one.
What disappointed us most was what did not get said in the listing. All of the windows in the house had notes attached to not open them because of Hurricane damage - thus we were not able to enjoy the ocean breeze nor the sound of the surf. During our stay, a foundation construction crew came for two days to cut holes in the garage / basement floor with concrete saws and jack hammers in order to install "stabilization" to the foundation walls - a little disconcerting (wondering if occupancy even safe); very noisy, and not disclosed prior to our arrival (we did get a phone call alerting us to it a couple of days in advance but after our arrival). We also had the Terminix technician show up unannounced to do spraying on the outside - (would have been good to know in advance)
As far as the listing - The Queen bedroom in the listing is described twice as the "master" and also as the "2nd bedroom". That is incorrect and should be fixed. The master bath is described as able to soak in the tub - but the master bath only has a shower. The 2nd / shared bath does have a tub. Many amenities are alluded to in the listing with accompanying photos and particular emphasis on the town of Flagler Beach and the Flagler Beach Pier; but it should be noted that these are not in walking distance along the beach - it's a good 5 minute drive.

Right on the beach, but needs a major reno
Pros...The main reason we went here was for being right on the ocean! It was definitely right on the ocean! Amazing views and secluded.
Cons.... Trash day was Thursday and Monday. We got there on a Wednesday. The next day a guy came to empty the trash, clean the grill and change a light bulb. He didn't change the bulb, didn't even look for a grill and said he wasn't going to put the trash in his mini van and would come back. He never did and it didn't get empty. Monday rolled around and we got a notification it was trash day. Nobody emptied the trash then either. It was overflowing and smelled bad by time we left. Also when we first got there on a Wednesday, the people's trash who stayed there before us was still in the trash!
When we first got there, they gave us a door code. Tried it, it didn't work. So I called the number and talked to someone...they had me try 3 different numbers on the door code before we could get in, rather confusing.
House is very run down. Boards on the deck are warped and we tripped many times on the deck, cement slabs are very crooked. Very limited amount of silverware and glasses. Needs a major redo for what you are paying a night in this place. Didn't feel very hospitable compared to other places we stayed. There were six of us and they only gave 4 bath towels for a whole week for 6 people.
Kitchen hasn't been touched since the 70's. We read before we went that it isn't the glitzy place you are looking for, we would definately agree on that. But for how much you pay a night, they could really put a little more love into the place and take care of trash service.
