We are in love with Camp Maine. The 1909’s cabin is full of charm. The lake is beautiful and the loons at night are soothing.
Kim the manager is friendly, knowledgeable and always available (although we did not need anything) Can’t wait to visit again!

This property is so very peaceful, lovely and quiet. Such a perfect place to get away from city heat and noise.

Rustic cabin which is ok but didn’t expect that rustic. Pond and dock were great. Didn’t care for wild mushrooms growing on inside of ceiling or excessive moisture in cottage. Run out of propane for grill after 10 minutes of use with no backup tank.

This property is lovely. It's a beautiful old log cabin, beautifully maintained. It's right on the lakeside, so we sat and watched the lake, the loons, the ducks, the occasional kayakers. The cabin is so well supplied - better than many rentals we have had. Communication with Kim was perfect. We had a small problem and she was totally responsive. We plan to come again - we LOVE this property.

It was our second stay at Camp Maine. Our family enjoys the rustic vibe and all the activities the area offers!

I expected a rustic cabin, what I did not expect was that it was not well maintained. Very disappointed.
There were several issues with the property: as this is “in the woods”, many bugs, etc abound and several screens on the windows were not intact and therefore not usable, nor was the screen door to the deck. Therefore, we could not leave the door open which impacted the ventilation through the cabin; the kitchen floor was missing some of the vinyl floor covering in many spots; the bathroom shower surround curtains arrangement was very awkward and full of mold in both bath tubs. The cabin manager did come to cover over it, but it was just a bandaid, not a suitable fix for the mold problem.
It was a lovely setting and enjoyed the views of the lake from the deck.

Very rustic cabin on a beautiful pond. Kim was very quick to respond and the cabin was clean.

This cabin was exactly as advertised: rustic, cozy, and charming. We had a very relaxing week and the cabin was in great shape, clean, and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and the comforters very warm for those chilly Maine nights. The area was very quiet and peaceful. A definite plus. Keep an eye out for the pair of bald eagles (one landed beside the dock) as well as the loons. A large family of geese and goslings hung out in the yard several mornings. We even heard a whipoor will calling one evening.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit on the dark side, so additional lighting would have been helpful. The washing machine is a little temperamental on whether it was going to decide to operate or not. Detailed instructions would be useful, but we eventually figured it out.

Wonderful fireplace, easy Access to the lake, and to many local places.

We had a great, relaxing, peaceful time! My husband got to fish, Acadia is close by, Ellsworth is worth a visit! Went to the Blue Hill fair, got seafood from Dorr’s, and went to some great antique shops plus beer tasting g at Atlantic brewery. At the end of the day it was nice to come back to this remote cabin on la lovely pond to chill on the Deck, have a bonfire or make a fire in the cabin. Kitchen is fully stocked and the beds were comfy. The hummingbirds and call if the loons was nice too!

Our Family and our Golden had a fantastic week here.
We were lucky enough to meet the owners when we checked in. They were warm and welcoming ( just like the cabin) and gave us a quick tour and history!
The cabin has a unique ,wonderful, rustic ,cozy charm. It was larger than we expected. 2 bathrooms were nice to have since were were a party of 6.
Camp Maine is well stocked. The kitchen has anything you could ever need to prep meals. For entertainment there are board games, puzzles and books . There are kayaks and a canoe! Life jackets and even watershoes are available. The fire pit was a highlight each night.
We appreciated the quiet of Camp Maine after busy days of exploring.
On a final note communicating with Kim was easy and prompt.
Thank you!!!!
We look forward to returning next year!!

This property exceeded our expectations. The lake was beautiful. The cabin is bigger than it looks in the picture. The description of the property was accurate. We visited Acadia NP on Mount Desert Island and on the Schoodic Peninsula which are 45 to 50 minutes away. The cabin was a very relaxing place to come back to after a day of hiking and biking. We plan on coming back one day.

My husband and I stayed in the cabin with his parents. Our sisters and their kids visited during the day from their place close by. The cabin is amazing, exactly as listed and has absolutely everything you could need! It’s an unbelievably beautiful and calm setting. Phone service is touch and go and you’ll need to bring bug spray but that is to be expected For a cabin in the woods in Maine. Kayaks and lifejackets are provided and the pond is perfect for that, or just cooling off in the water. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked with more than we anticipated. It was great to have the washer and dryer on site, although we only used it once. There’s plenty of outdoor seating on the deck and at the fire pit which was wonderful. Everything is in great working condition throughout the entire place. We would definitely come again. Kim was very helpful and responsive, she’s very nice also, we met her as we were leaving. This is a perfect 10 out of 10 for a woodsy cabin vacation if you want peace, beauty and fun!

Rustic, spacious cabin close to serene pond. Observed up to 8 loons at once. Frequently saw a family of both eagles and osprey. With onshore breeze water temperatures we’re as high as 85 degrees. Proximity to Acadia National Park made it easy to visit.

Description is dead on. It’s remote. It’s wonderful. Beautiful location. Our granddaughter was the pied piper for a group of ducklings. Just to keep this from being a perfect score, the internet and phone service were sketchy. But that’s it. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Maine experience 2022
We had such a great time exploring the area. The camp was located in a great area. We went to Acadia, Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor, drove to Bangor to see Stephen Kings house, went to the Penobscot observation bridge and went on a nature cruise around Bar Harbor and Acadia. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck and listening to the loons. We even had a female Bald Eagle fly around and land just a few yards away! Even though the weather was warmer than usual we had a nice breeze across the pond and the fans to keep us cool. I made hummingbird food and filled the feeder with in minutes they were eating away. We never had the chance to use the kayaks or canoe.. already looking forward to our next visit❤️

Lakefront with the Loons
Beautiful setting, steps away from the refreshing water. The area was very peaceful broken up only by the calming calls of the loons. We kayaked and paddle boarded throughout the week and loved it. So relaxing to be on a pond that was truly golden.

Rustic
Very rustic cabin. The surrounding view and setting was so beautiful. We enjoyed the Loons and the beautiful pond. A family of ducks visited us every day. The sunsets were beautiful. The cabin was clean we just felt like it was a bit to rustic for us. Kim was great to work with and timely in her responses and very helpful with places to eat and hike. Maine is just so beautiful.

This property is beautiful with a gorgeous lake right outside the back door. The cabin is rustic, but very, very comfortable, lots of space, and they have thought of anything you might need--it's there! This is our second time enjoying this place and we are looking forward to the next time!

Peaceful, rustic, cozy, quiet, waterfront retreat. Central hearth room is roomy and offers both grander spots to gather along with comfy chairs to read. Large deck overlooking beautiful pond provided space for fun, food and reflection. Kitchen is fully stocked with pans, pots, table ware and utensils for both easy and foodie meals. Kayaks and canoe bring you closer to the call of the loon. Even though the cabin is miles from Acadia, the journey was easy and worth every return to regroup and refresh. Miles of trails elsewhere are worth options for casual to more experienced hikers. To us, this is what vacation is about. Wonderful experience.

THE BEST!!
If you are looking for a beautiful setting with an awesome rustic cabin—this is for you‼️From the time we booked our stay to the end, everything was beyond our expectations. We felt like it was our home. The cabin was immaculate and had everything you could ever need during your stay.—and I do mean everything! The grounds are well maintained and the view of the lake is amazing. There is also a fire pit to enjoy s’mores.😊 There is total privacy and quiet. If you like to walk, the setting is great. Loons and ducks entertained us. We would be remiss if we didn't mention Kim, who we communicated with before and during our stay—she is awesome! We already have made our reservations for 2022!

We had a good time relaxing by fires at night, fishing and boating by day, and enjoying the cool evening breeze with beverages on the deck in the evening. Cabin is very private with large lake frontage and great views.

Camp Maine was just what we needed. My husband and our two adult children and significant others and the family dog met up at the camp for a wonderful week. Abrams Pond was is so relaxing! We fished, swam and kayaked during the day and were lulled to sleep by the loons at night. Acadia National Park is less than an hours drive where we enjoyed the bike riding and amazing scenery. Loved the suggestion of heading to the quieter part of the park to Schoodic point! Amazing views and much less crowded. I would highly recommend Camp Maine. It is a rustic Maine cabin but had comfortable beds and was clean and everything needed for an active fun vacation!

Wonderful 1900's lake side REAL log cabin. Call of loons just enhances experience. Loved everything from antique dishes in kitchen to rustic vintage furniture. Nice stairs to dock to swim from, canoe and kyaks provided. Great fishing. Such a peaceful, serene setting!

Camp Maine was even better than advertised! It's like your grandparents invited you to visit and they have just stepped out for a little bit! Yet, despite the rustic look and feel, everything you need for a vacation is there. (FWIW, we never saw a TV ... but we never looked for one!) There were 4 of us and we used this relaxing location as our home base for hiking in Acadia. It's about a 50 minute drive into the park each way, but the travel was worth it. We awoke each morning to watch the mist rise on the pond and arrived back at Camp each evening to enjoy the serenity of the area. Squeezed in some kayaking during our down time, enjoyed the ever-present hummingbirds visiting the outdoor feeder, loved listening to the loons in the mornings and evenings, and soaked in every minute of solitude. Highly recommend!

Authentic rustic log cabin on lovely clear pond with amazing bass fishing. Loons and Bald Eagles are plentiful. We watched an eagle pluck one of the bass from the pond! Canoes and kayaks for ready access. Incredible hiking opportunities close by (Schoodic Mountain, highly recommended). Fireplace for the ages and plenty of wood. Great week here. Miss it already.

We had a fantastic time at this property! The pond is quiet and we spent most of our time fishing, kayaking, reading, and swimming. We also took a few day trips to Acadia for some hiking. The cabin is rustic, but the bedrooms are large and the house is clean. The wi-fi is not the greatest, but that’s to be expected. Also, there’s no TV—which turned out not to be an issue at all as we were busy—but including in comments in case someone else would like to know.

My family and I had a wonderful stay in a clean, well-organized and well-equipped cabin right on the shore of a beautiful, private freshwater lake! We heard and saw several loons, as well as a dick family, and we really enjoyed swimming, canoeing, and kayaking, as well as the cabin’s location- less than 45 minutes to Mount Desert Island and less than 30 minutes to Schoodic Point. The Schoodic Scenic Byway is minutes away, and there are great views of the Schoodic Mountains all around. The cabin and lake are very private, yet grocery stores, etc. are just a few minutes away. Kim was kind and helpful, and she answered all of our questions promptly. The cabin was kept clean and well-organized, with everything we needed, including an amazing huge stone fireplace for those chilly Maine nights.
