As a family of six, we are always looking for affordable lodging. We had booked this home before and felt comfortable doing it again. There are many updates that could be done. The beds were comfortable. Beautiful setting, plenty of room for everyone, basic amenities. Be sure to pack toilet paper and garbage bags as you are supplied with a minimal amount.

Stay: late Oct 2023 for 4 nights The house is a dated beach house. Not in bad condition (exceptions below), but dated and used enough that it didn't feel clean. The bathroom had a painted popcorn ceiling with mold on it, so we ran the bathroom van the entire time to keep it dry(er) in the bathroom and also to keep negative air pressure on the bathroom. There was a standalone dehumidifier by the wood stove in the main area that we ran the entire time we were there. We emptied its water collection tank (a few gallons in size) about two times each day. By the end, we were able to keep the humidity in the house to around 47-52%. The house didn't smell really musty, but it did have a bit of that smell when you first walked in. Along with the datedness of the house, there were a number of things that needed some TLC. Things like, one of the lamps in the main area was finicky; some of the dishes weren't clean, so we had to wash anything before we used it; the kitchen cabinets had an old cabinet smell that made other things smell like that; there were cob webs in the upper sections of the main windows; etc. Made you wonder what else might have been missed... When booking this rental, it was hard to tell if the management company (Vacasa) might have improved things because of similar feedback from other renters. From what I can tell, they have not. I'll be looking for something newer and more obviously clean next time.

This house is in a neat location, and it is within walking distance to the beach. You have to cross a road and walk a short way alongside the road, but that's ok. The house itself, well, it's a bit light on amenities, rather minimal, and seemingly hasn't seen many upgrades, but it has all the basics. Running water, a shower, beds, a refrigerator, lights, electricity, heat (once I found the thermostat, but that was a "me" problem). There are some towels by the front door, which was nice. Also, the washer and dryer were super convenient. The upstairs bed was pretty lumpy. I stayed on it the first night. I switched with my daughter the next morning and the downstairs bed was much better. The checkout instructions said to start the dishwasher, but there was no dishwasher, so I hope it sufficed to just rinse the few dishes we used. The small kitchen sink only had one section, so a full washing of the dishes is going to be tricky. But that's just a bit of nit-picking. A few more small things, the outlets were ancient and could be replaced so they aren't loose, and the bedroom door isn't aligned with the door jamb, so it wouldn't close without basically forcing it down. It'll be broken clean off by a future visitor who is determined to lock that door. And the Internet was very slow. But we weren't there to surf the net, so not a big deal. One thing I quite liked was the noisy heater. We were there in September and the nights were cool. Furnace noise is very comforting. That's one thing I miss with these newer, quiet furnaces. On one of our mornings, a group of eight elk moseyed through the neighborhood, a few of them stopping to graze on the vegetation in the front yard. That was a nice touch. One of the highlights of the trip. There are massive trees around the property. That's pretty cool.

Location was perfect for us! We enjoyed being able to walk a short distance to the beach and Haystack Rock every day. It is close to the Southern part of town on a quiet street, so you can walk to some restaurants and shopping. The house itself could use some updating and TLC.

My wife and I stayed for a month from mid November to mid December. This is not the ideal time to be in Oregon for most people but we wanted a change of scenery and a get-away from the usual routine. This worked out very well for us. It was our first time on the Oregon coast and was a great retreat with lots of quiet and beautiful nature. The house was comfortable and met our expectations.

Needs work with basic cleanliness. Rusty registers, musty smell, cobwebs and insects, mold in bathroom.

Great location, everything in the house worked, and a beautiful area around the house, like living in a tree house. If we come back this way we would certainly stay here again. The beach is 2 blocks away and wonderful.
