When I arrived to the property it was completely dark, no lights were on outside. When we entered the property it had some funky smell, we weren't ablento watch anything in the tv.

Nice cabin in the woods

This property was roomy and had plenty of space available if we wanted to have the rest of the family out for dinner and a visit. Comfortable and cozy. Dining table is a classic old farm house-large and sturdy. Bathrooms and bedrooms were a nice size. Bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Mornings were below 30 and the heaters provided kept us warm and comfortable. We didn’t even use them all. If we are back in the area we would consider this again.

We had a great friends and family Thanksgiving at your home! Everyone was in love with your dining room table and it had plenty of seating!

Loved the way we felt surrounded by the mountains. It was so serene and peaceful. Close enough to the city to enjoy it, far enough away to escape. In town for a softball tournament, we opted for a house instead of a hotel. It was a winner. Would stay here again and recommend to all. Very spacious inside and out and the game room was a hit!

I had a wonderful stay for a long weekend away with my sister. This was the perfect place for us. Loved the location! Close enough to Asheville to drive for food or shopping. Also good for a day trip to Cherokee. Really enjoyed sitting on the porch and deck and listening to the sound of the stream down the hill. Was very private but not totally secluded. Would definitely visit again.

The area was beautiful, creek running through front of property. Large yard, Porch and balcony with lots of seating options, including a porch swing. Inside was spacious downstair, main bedroom large, but 2nd bedroom small and beds were lumpy and hard. However...fire places don't work, couple of space heaters were the only heat, except in main bed had a window unit for air & heat. Bathrooms were freezing. There were spider webs and all kinds of spiders every where! Game tables advertised in garage are all in bad shape & missing parts to play. Over all we would not stay here again.

The property was large, with plenty of woods to explore if that's your thing. Fire pit is great and the rocking chairs and porch swings made for a great beginning and ending of our day. The beds were very comfortable and there is WiFi. You'll need it if you need any communication because cell service is slim to none. But that's the part I enjoyed the most. We will definitely be back!

The pics arent accurate as to whats inside the house (kitchen table, furniture) but its still a nice place to stay. Wild turkeys were out daily. Kids loved the game room and the creek. Property manager was easy to contact and friendly.

This is a very quaint house. It’s a perfect place to get away and have peace and quiet. This is not luxury by any means but it was well worth what we paid for. There were 6 of us. Two of us old folks found it hard to climb the stairs to the bedrooms but the rest of our crew had no problems. I LOVED the porch swing upstairs and the grandkids loved playing corn hole on 2nd floor wrap around porch. The only issue we had were the upstairs TV wouldn’t come on and the trash can was overflowing outside. We didn’t use the game room but it looked great.

The location was perfect for our trip. The area was quiet and peaceful, and we got to see wild turkeys! We went to Asheville and Mt Mitchell and came back to a comfortable cabin. The firewood was well seasoned, and our questions were quickly answered. The cabin wasn't booked the day we left so we were allowed a late check out, which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this property and can see myself going back again.

We stayed here three nights for a quick spring break trip to Asheville. The house is about thirty minutes from Asheville. It was a great place to stay. Communication was excellent. The WiFi was a great connection. The game room is in a detached garage. If you are staying and spending a lot of time at the house there is a lot to keep you entertained. The master room is a great setup for families with a separate bed area but some privacy from the master bedroom. Overall I would recommend and stay here again.

Beautiful and serene. Nothing is far from this place, but it is quiet and secluded with a creek flowing I’m front of the property adding ambiance. Morning sunrise views are spectacular. Wi-Fi was good. Kitchen had all necessary pots, pans, dishes and silverware. This is true country living with some modern updates! Will return!

This place we was perfect to get away from this busy life so much trees and we were in the woods big area with fireplace and grill. What an amazing experience I recommend this place to everyone. This place has lots of plates utensils things for cooking. A big table for a family. Lots of blankets pillows and towels. Sofa bed and three other beds to sleep in so much space we had such a great time. Located close to hiking trails like Chimney rock and Jump off rock my two favorite trail. Zip and Slip tubing and Arboretum and more. Communication was great I was a bit annoying texting about everything but owner did a great job at always responding at a timely manner. Homes was clean and organized. Thank you for an awesome experience.

We like it but the kitchen was very poor and basic stuff, also we couldn’t enjoy the game garage due to the cold and very messy

There are two things to improve, the sponge in the kitchen appears to be used by several other people because it was really dirty, plus is not sanitary to leave a used sponge to a new guest. The other is the neighbor waking up at 9 AM shooting behind his house for almost an hour. Those two issues should be addressed. Other than that everything was great!

There was plenty of room for all four of us. The two bathrooms were a plus. The gameroom was disappointing as additional furniture had been stored in there.

Good, Bad, and Ugly
The good: the location was great. Very close to Asheville. Very quiet and close to the highway to get to hiking. The air conditioner in the living room worked great! The wifi covered the entire house well. The upstairs bathroom looked newly renovated. The mattresses were comfortable.
The bad: the ac in the master bedroom is a window unit that barely worked. The ac unit in the 2nd bedroom was a window unit that worked well but was so loud it woke me up every time it came on. The appliances, dishes, pots and pans were old and very well used and several were not clean. I spent the first night cleaning everything by hand.
The ugly: the entire place needed a deep cleaning. While some surfaces seemed clean (microwave and counters), as we used the house we saw how dirty it was. Walking the floor the first day barefoot led to black bottoms on our feet. There was food stuck on a pot and cookie sheet and a dried elbow noodle on the dining room table. The dishwasher wasn't bolted into the wall and tipped every time we opened it. The listing advertises a game room with ping pong, Foosball, and air hockey. It's in the garage that is covered with dirt and spider webs. Several ping pong balls were abandoned bc the spiders claimed them.
Overall, the bad and ugly did not ruin our stay. The location and peace and quiet more than made up for it. Would we stay there again? Not unless it was deep cleaned and the ac units were replaced.

Nice location
Great location, loved hearing the creek, semi-isolated. Plenty of room for our family of 6. Stocked kitchen, clean sheets and towels. Window ac upstairs does not do much, fortunately weather was nice.

Peaceful Stay
Beautiful property. Close to amenities but feels secluded on site. Beautiful views, plenty of room inside and out. Kids love the game room and the endless nature and exploring outside. Running creek on the property sounds amazing and like having rain sounds at night while sleeping. Won’t disappoint!

Fantastic spot for a large group
The house was spacious and well stocked. Other reviews state that there were only a couple space heaters available. This is outdated information, the home had baseboard style heaters throughout. I brought a heated blanket with us and never even had to unpack it despite temps dipping into the 20s overnight. Everything was clean, linens freshly washed, plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. The bed in the 2nd bedroom is very firm, so be aware of that. The yard is large, so despite being able to see neighboring homes, it felt very private. Our kids loved the firepit, tire swing, air hockey table, and creek. Having laundry access was a big plus! The drive to Asheville is short and scenic, the proximity to Pisgah National Park was great. Any of the complaints I read in previous reviews that made me a bit nervous were totally absent during our stay. If I am ever in the area in the future, I would choose this property again.

Mountain getaway
Our stay was very nice. Clean compound and lovely location. Very peaceful. Was difficult to get in touch with manager at times in a timely fashion, no phone contact. Kitchen was very lacking in pans, bowls and general cooking supplies. No games as advertised. Firepit was nice but we had to dig it out. Loved the corn hole game on upper deck. Thank you for a nice stay.

If you are looking for a quite clean house on the bottom of a mountain 20min away from Ashville then this place is for you. House was super clean, everything worked and beds where comfy. Would definitely stay again.

Nice play for a mountain stay
Cabin was as described in the add. The sound of the water flowing from the porch and deck was amazing. Great place to relax after a day exploring the smokey mountains. We enjoyed the ping-pong table also.

Decent retreat
Had a good time....but did find it a little uncleanly. The basic area of the house was clean....aside from spiderwebs outside in the sitting area. My main gripe was that both window unit ac's wereent sealing in the window opening. This allow many bugs to enter the bedrooms. The lower bathroom toilet was also loose on its mount. I have informed the manager.....if these issues are fixed ...I would gladly stay again....it was a good setting.

Great stay!
Quiet and clean, easy check in, was able to do both nature things and city things. Firepit and grill were put to good use. Started most mornings with breakfast/coffee on the top deck. Groceries ~15minutes away. Able to have the Olympics on in the background as we hung out at the property.

Peace and Quiet
We had a great time during our stay in Candler. Very close to everything in and around Asheville. The place exceeded our expectations. The beds were so comfortable with lots of room especially in the master suite. Easiest check-in and directions were great. The porches are so inviting and we spent our evenings rocking in the chairs listening to the water flow in the creek until bedtime. We would highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Pros & Cons
Pros: Price range, quiet neighborhood, creek and swing for kids entertainment, manager communication was great.
Cons: Cleanliness was the bigger con of this property. Also, the shower drain was slow so it was a bit uncomfortable.

Can't beat the location. We got in dust at dusk, First thing we noticed when we opened the door was that "locked up for months" smell. We proceeded to open all the windows, which were so full of dust and dead bugs ( I have pictures) it set my husband off on a sneezing fit his allergies flared up. Everything was dusty. There are the bare essentials in the kitchen as far crockery and cutlery. The butcher block with the knives was quite dusty. The liners in the drawers and cabinets were all dirty. The shower liners were both moldy as were the shower heads. I had to clean them before we used them. The towels are more than enough, but mostly dingy. I washed them. I usually pack my own towels, The one time I forgot, it's the one time I really needed it. Thankfully laundry detergent and bleach was provided. I thought the sheets were unwashed but I guess they were just dusty. Even to put my own sheets over them I felt I had to wash them first. When I pulled off the sheets their were stains on the mattress and no mattress pad. You should pack extra toilet paper as there wasn't enough as there usually is in other rentals we've used. There were glasses left at the fire-pit which was not a big deal, we just added it to the dishwasher. None of the chairs on the porch had been dusted in ages. I would say that it didn't ruin our trip as we cleaned up as we needed, lit candles and incense when were indoors. We know we're in the mountains and expected some spiders just not so many dead ones trapped in the windows. The property is in an ideal location. We enjoyed the fire-pit every night we were there. The owner and property manager were responsive to our concerns. I really didn't want to say anything bad as we made the best memories during our stay. The creek was a lovely background to listen to. It is close to downtown Asheville and Biltmore Estates and many trails. I don't think we watched anything on television all weekend and other than looking for tails to hike on or places to go, or taking photos No one was really on their phone. Internet reception was a bit sketchy, but again, it's the mountains. We were thankful there was any.

Great location for visiting the NC mountain sites!
Peaceful sounds of nature- running creek, and greetings in the early morning from the local Turkeys! The porches were our favorite places, with breakfast and dinner outside. We used the home for a central location to visit close by NC interests. A good choice.
