About this cabin rental
Looking for a beautiful spot for your lake getaway? This cabin sits on a point overlooking Daisy Bay. With three bedrooms (1 king, 1 full, 1 with 2 twins), and two queen sofa beds (one on a private sleeping porch), it can sleep up to ten people. The kitchen is fully outfitted. A deck wraps around two sides of the cabin so you can fully appreciate the beautiful view. There's also a lakeside sauna (shared with one other cabin).
You'll want to spend most of your time on the lake, but for those of us who can't quite leave the rest of the world behind, there's Amazon Fire tv and WiFi. (Please note that the ancient TV pictured has been replaced!)
We have a canoe, a two person kayak, and bikes available for your use.
The driveway can accommodate one boat trailer. Boats can be put in the lake nearby at either Moccasin Point or Greubens Marina.
We do NOT have a fire pit, and do not allow outside fires. There is often a high risk of fire, as we are in the woods. We do provide a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking.
There are loads of attractions and activities nearby-- the Vince Shute Bear Sanctuary, the International Wolf Center, Fortune Bay Casino, shopping in Ely, fishing guides, mailboat rides, hiking, tours of the Soudan Mine, and much more.
This cabin is SEASONAL ONLY. It is not available for rent after Sept. 30 or before the open of fishing season in May.

Overall our stay was pleasant. The one bathroom was difficult with children. We enjoyed fishing and swimming. The cabin was basic and had a definite woodsy feeling which was nice. It was easy to get to Ely and we enjoyed the area attractions the Wolf and Bear centers and the Mine.

Loved it. 8 of us spread out in the two cabins and the adjoining bunkhouse on the property (separate listings)... This is ideal for an extended family. Everyone had the right space for them. It was a Great Lake setting- beautiful and quiet. You can listen to loons and the waves... We made use of two docks and canoes and porches overlooking the lake. So nice!

My brothers and I take our father to Lake Vermillion now each year as it is a favorite fishing location where he took us in 70’s/80’s as kids. This cabin is great central location on the lake. The outdoor wrap around deck is great. The dock is great and the boathouse with refrigerator for bait and hose for fish cleaning cleanup is good. Cabin is older but very spacious which is great I

Nice setting and size.
Dock lift was broken (where bottom of boat would sit. Could not use, but we trailered our boats and had a great time!

The property was clean but the inside was dated but that did not affect our stay however the water pressure was inconsistent and low and made it difficult for taking a shower. It would have been nice to have power down by the boat lift so you could charge your boat batteries.

Great Location, nice wrap around deck, great view of Lake Vermilion, nice to have a Roku, Great to have fans for each of the bedrooms, furnished nicely with towels and linens, lots of nice trees for hammocking, nice boat lift and dock.
Cindy was very helpful when I needed extra sheets, blankets and garbage bags. Overall the property was very clean however there were a few cob webs around and spiders!! We had a wonderful week!

I enjoy the smell of the pines and the view of the lake. I spent hours on the deck enjoying the view and reading books. Also enjoyed several refreshing swims and the "kids" took the canoe out once.

If you are looking for a true cabin stay on Lake Vermilion then you will love this cabin. Beautiful lake views and the sauna makes it perfect. Cindy was very attentive to all of our needs. Love coming here every year! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

We’ve stayed at this property three times now and have yet to be disappointed. The cabin is spacious and well kept. The sauna, lake, kayak, canoe, and deck all kept us busy outside, though it was nice to relax with movies at night. Thanks for another great stay!

Stay was great. Beautiful location and plenty of room in the cabin. Appreciated having the fans in all the rooms as they were very much needed. John put nice top on old fish cleaning table that really helped out. Hose by dock needs new spray nozzle - forgot to tell John about that.

Our family enjoyed our stay on Daisy Bay. The fishing was great! The cabin was clean, and we were pleasantly surprised to find it had more common space than we expected from the photos. We loved the large deck and views of the lake. We enjoyed just relaxing at the lake and also visited Cook and Ely, The Vince Shute Bear Sanctuary, kayaking and boating.

This was our third year back to these properties and we had a fabulous time as per usual! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We had a blast kayaking, swimming off the dock, using the sauna, and hanging out on the deck. The kids were thrilled with eagles flying overhead and hearing the loons call.

Nice stay for a great price
Water was out for 3 days due to a storm. Host was very accommodating in letting us use another shower in an neighboring property.

Love the Comfy Cabin
Lake Vermilion is our go to lake for a summer vacation. Sarah's cabin is in a great location in Daisy Bay. It's in a nice quiet area on a shared but very private road. Our family group of six had plenty of room and everything we needed. The deck is awesome, very large with a beautiful view. It was great to have a boat lift for our small fishing boat. We docked our pontoon at Gruben's Marina which is very close and worked out good for us. We never used the canoe or kayak but pretty nice to have those available. John and Cindy are super nice people and available if you need them for anything. We'll be back!

Beautifully situated on Daisy Bay, this cabin is well stocked and ready for any size group. We stayed last year at the cabin next door, and we are returning again this fall for another stay.

We truly enjoyed our visit. The weather was agreeable although a little windy. We had our fresh fish fry, yum! Visited the Wolf and Black Bear centers in Ely. Highly recommend!!

Successful fishing trip
Very clean, well maintained property.
Straight forward rules. Despite of absence of the owner the whole experience from checking-in to checking-out is clearly laid out.
Dock with the boat lift was very useful especially on windy days. And of course ability of using the sauna is like that cherry on the top.

Great location on lake
This location was almost the middle of the Vermilion lake. The shore station lift was excellent for protecting the boat from waves. Otherwise, it would be slammed against the dock.

Daisy Bay
We have be staying at this property for 25 years and it’s always great. Though this year due to COVID, we learned the morning of that we needed our own sheets and that left us scrambling because we don’t have the same size beds, so plan accordingly!

Hot and Smokey
The weather was hot and the wild fires in Canada made it a little smokey. Great swimming weather, the fishing was so-so, golfing was fun. Overall a nice stay, I would book again.

The area and scenery was beautiful
The furnace in the house was not working properly. My husband had to light it constantly and it would never stay lit. It would make a humongous boom every time it went off. We finally quit doing it for our safety sake. It got down below 32° a couple times and all we had was a small space heater. The house was freezing. We had a woman from the neighboring cabin press her face to the window to look in from the deck. She said she wanted to see what the cabin looked like. There was a bat in the trash can in the bathroom the first day we were there. The care takers were very friendly and helpful. Very nice people. Other than the invasion of privacy and the freezing house, the time there was very nice.

Beautiful location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and basically lived on the deck. The deck was surrounded by pines and the view of the lake was spectacular. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 80s all week, so it was a bit warm in the bedrooms. There were plenty of fans, so that helped a great deal. The water was accessible with a nice ladder at the end of the dock, a boatlift for our boat, and a kayak to use.. Everything we needed was in the cabin and we had a great week.

Has everything we ever needed and more.
My husband and I stayed at the cabin in late September. We are frequent visitors to Lake Vermilion, having once lived on the lake. We knew the area well so we were very happy to find such a great property near our favorite fishing spots and familiar places. The cabin did not disappoint. The view is amazing, a large, new deck gives you every opportunity to enjoy the wonderful sunsets that this lake has to offer and good viewing of the dock to check on your boat. The cabin was clean and incredibly well appointed, even down to spices and a wok if you are so inclined. On our next visit I could easily leave home 50% of what I normally take for kitchen supplies such as certain utensils, etc. It was all there, in great condition. The sun room on the front was our main gathering place but it also offered a comfortable living area complete with wood stove and a new sofa that was very comfy. Both rooms were nicely appointed and spacious. Sarah allows dogs for a nominal fee which we were thrilled about. Our dogs are small Yorkies and their safety is important to us. The property offered a good place for them to roam and enjoy the outdoors without any problems. The caretakers were a true delight. We had one tiny problem for which we needed to call John, caretaker to the property. To our surprise within minutes he was at our front door and the problem was resolved immediately. He and his wife were super pleasant, helpful and informative. We really enjoyed our opportunities to visit with them. They added to our visit with their chats and prompt help if needed. We were absolutely thrilled to find this property. It checked all our boxes, quiet, private, clean, safe, comfortable, spacious, allows dogs and good docking. My wife and I have been visitors as a couple to the lake for over 50+ years, my wife over 65+ years. We stayed for many years at the same cabin owned by one of the local families. After the property sold we thought we would never find our "cabin home" again but we are happy to report we did find a wonderful place to make new memories. Just a wonderful experience from start to finish. Thank you Sarah, John and Cindy for a great stay.

Really enjoyed our stay, we stayed here a couple years ago and really like the area. The cabin is adequate for a 6 guy fishing trip. No problems with securing reservations and the property manager was nice and helpful.
