Had a nice time staying in mid August. Dock was nice to tie up the boats for the fishermen and the yard and beach were great for the kiddos. House was very comfortable and well stocked. Great family getaway

This place was great. Nice beach; many boat toys; cleand and well-maintained; fabulous kitchen equipment; excellent TV. Great for both adults and kids interested in playing on the beach, or canoeing, wake-boarding, kayaking. I can't think of a way to improve it.

This home is stunning. There was everything we needed for cooking. Loved the pantry for storing our supplies.
They had plenty of lake toys and chairs. There was a kayak, canoe, paddle boat and yard games for our use.
The lake is a bit rocky so would suggest water shoes for wading along the shoreline. Next visit we will definitely get a pontoon boat to explore the lake. Would highly recommend this lake home, especially for large groups as there is plenty of room for spreading out.

Our extended family of 10 stayed in Kathryn’s home for a week. It was wonderful. From the beginning, communication with her regarding the rental was great. She responded quickly to all my questions. We had one issue that came up once we were in the house that she responded to immediately and to our complete satisfaction. Check in was very easy. The house itself is absolutely beautiful. The workmanship is spectacular. You have to see it to believe it. We had plenty of space to spread out. Beds were comfortable. Everything you might need during your stay is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped. The grounds are beautiful too, and we used and fully enjoyed the canoe, paddle boat and paddle board provided. We would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Kathryn!

We are from MN, but live in Texas. We wanted to escape the heat and remind the kids (16 & 17) about the beauty MN offers. This was the perfect home and perfect location to do just that. The design and furnishing of the home is nothing short of perfection. Great spaces when you want to gather (cooking, eating, games, movies... a place for it all) and be together, but also great bedrooms / suites to relax if you need some time alone. Kathryn the host is quick to respond and truly made her home feel like it was ours for the week. We are a golfing family... and there are 3 world class courses within a 30 minute drive. We also rented a pontoon from the nearby marina (Birch Point) so that we could enjoy the lake. If we are every back in Northern MN, we will absolutely consider staying here again.

We had booked this property well in advance for a family vacation. Walking into this house made us awe struck! The pictures are great, but don't quite do the justice it deserves. It makes you feel like you are at home. Every appliance, kitchen item, and space for everything is right there. The other features that caught my eye were that the house is decorated like the owners live there full-time. Most VRBO's seem to take out all the nice decorations- not this house. Keeping nice things in the house for us to enjoy made it feel cozy. It was perfect for entertaining our family of 10 adults with room to spread out. The pool table was a nice option for when the weather wasn't perfect for outdoor activities. The outdoor space, outdoor equipment and amenities left plenty to do as well. Check-in and check-out was easy. If we had to do laundry, everything was supplied. The only thing I recommend is to bring an extra set of paper products as they are given as an initial courtesy, but it is the guests duty to replenish them once they are out. This minor inconvenience did not warrant NOT giving it 5 stars!!! We will definitely consider this property in the future and so should you!

The property was better than we expected. It was clean, updated, yet rustic. The view of the lake was pristine. Although the water and air were cold for July it did not stop us from having a fabulous northern experience in this beautiful home.

House O Logs has it all. Beautiful well maintained home with unique architecture, owner art work, HD TV in every room, game room with ping pong table and beautiful yard facing lake with boat house and sandy beach and dock on a secluded bay. Nothing not to like here. It rained 4 of 7 days our our recent stay but the house and its amenities kept us entertained. A major ping pong tournament and learning how to train a dragon off the theater size HD TV were but a few of the activities. The kitchen is amazing with anything a pro chef would want to use. It is also close to Tower and Zups and the local Y store for gas, bait and sundries including some grocery items. If that is not enough there is a great kids playground and a tennis/pickelball court a short walk away from the house. All in all a perfect vacation home!! Yes it's expensive. But clearly you get what you pay for with House O Logs.

The log home is definitely nicer than the pictures. We enjoyed boating, tubing, swimming, fishing and relaxing during our week stay. The amenities were great. Many family members enjoyed the paddle board and the kayak. Our accommodations comfortably fit all fourteen family members. Every evening had a cool lake breeze, and more windows with screens facing the lake would have even made our stay much better.

The home and property were beautiful. The lake and fishing were all that we could hope for. A great experience for our entire family. Hoping to do it again!

Beautiful log and stone home, well stocked kitchen, and comfortable beds, even though it rained most of the weekend there were plenty of things to keep us entertained. Thanks for letting us use your lovely cabin, we'll try to make it back next year.

We rented this house for a father and son trip and it was perfect.First, the house and property are simply stunning. Kathryn was very quick to reply to any questions we had. It was amazing all of the different amenities the house had from basic spices, cooking utensils, coolers, the list goes on. The location of the house in a back bay was so nice and great fire pit. Their grill is massive and worked great for us. We hopefully be returning in the future.

Our overall experience was very good. The house handled our large family well. We enjoyed the gathering places, private dock and large yard a lot. House was well stocked, except for toilet paper, hand soap in sinks and large shower towels. The master bedrooms were very nice. Screens on the other bedroom windows would be nice as some of the bedrooms got a little hot. Couldn't open the bedroom windows as bugs could get in without the screens. Or central air if that's possible. The view and area were awesome and we would definitely recommend to others and would book again.

This property was incredible! We had so much fun- wish we could have stayed another week.

House O Logs has everything a family would want. The house itself is amazing and plenty of room for everyone. The dock and beach are great for water sports and fishing (kids caught fish off the dock) and the immaculately maintained lawn was great for family soccer, corn hole (supplied) and just plain running around.
The owner Kathryn was very accomodating and available for any questions. 30 minutes to Ely and the Sudan Mine is about 20 minutes away and worth a visit. Boats can be rented close and the Y store and Zups in Tower have everything you might need. The house construction is amazing!! The property is also very private with no neighbors visible...except from the dock. We HIGHLY recommend!!

The cabin is absolutely beautiful. The logs are gorgeous and the room sizes were great. The owner is wonderful to work with. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I thought some of the amenities were lacking. For example I thought the beach chairs were kinda cheap. They were thin plastic chairs and most were broken. The kitchen towels were old and stained, I ended up buying my own. Normally I wouldn't have a big problem with any of this but when I pay top dollar I expect those items would be top of the line. Overall we had a wonderful stay. The location is amazing and the loons were great. I would definitely stay again.

We had a great time at this property! We stayed with 6 adults and 4 children (ages 5 years - 10 months). Everyone was able to have their own space and spread out. The bay this house is on is quiet and pristine. We had a couple of loons (plus one baby) greet us a few times a day! The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the additional refrigerator around the corner in the laundry room as well as pantry. The kids LOVED the large backyard space, beach, and fishing right off the dock! The adults enjoyed beverages on the deck at night and the comfy living room chairs. We were excited to use the canoe at the boat house as well. The owner is very communicative and quick to respond to messages. We also talked about how great the property would be in the winter time as well! Thanks for a great stay for all.

Really enjoyed our stay. Great big house with a yard that the kids loved. Clean, cozy and really great for escaping with a big family for a week long vacation on the lake. Thanks again for everything Kathryn!

We had an extended weekend planned with family and this rental did not disappoint. Not only is the home absolutely beautiful, but the cabin is stocked with games and activities for rain or shine. My only advice is to bring your own stuff if you're worried about child proofing i.e. gates and play pens.

The executive log home was what was advertised. We made group dinners, ate at the large dining room table and watched football near the fire place. We had a mis-hap with one of our cars' tires and the owner generously showed up with an air compressor which solved the situation. The bedrooms were nice and we enjoyed the up north woods sauna.

This was a gorgeous place to do some critical thinking and time away from the hectic pace and noise! Excellent choice!

Great property, beautiful yard!

We had a great week staying with close family members. The layout of the house allowed for multiple families to have their own space while still staying connected. Overall it was a great week.
2.5 / 5.0
My family and I really enjoyed our week at this cabin! The place was very clean and accommodated our family very well. The kitchen has everything you would need. The location in a quiet bay is ideal. There is a very nice deck with a great little place to eat outside that is not pictured here as well. I would highly recommend and we are already considering booking again!

I just assumed that a high end property would include paper towels and toilet paper, so for future renters it would be great to let them know ahead of time. Sleeping was a little warm with just fans as the daytime temps were unusually warm. Bunk house had no indoor plumbing so the kids weren’t interested in sleeping there.

My family of 4 stayed here for 5 days in July. This is a beautiful log cabin in a great location on the lake. The owner was very responsive to questions and great to work with. We had a great vacation.

On the lake with log cabin 3 story house well equipped in all areas and large lawn for playing with grandchildren fronting the lake with boat dock.
1.0 / 5.0
Overall the property is nice however it does not have air conditioning and only a few windows have screens, this makes it very hard to cool down at night without filling the house with mosquitos. Even when there was a breeze on the lake it could not be taken advantage of due to the lack of screens. In, addition the owner is not the easiest person to deal with, we paid an outlandish event fee to have an event at this house and to cover additional cleaning fees, even after cleaning much more then would be required for such a fee we were charged another cleaning fee after we had left. While the house is nice the hassle caused by the owner made the experience less enjoyable.
2.5 / 5.0
We loved the property location. The front yard had plenty of space for yard games. The stairways were difficult for our 85 year old parent to navigate. The openness made for sound to be heard throughout the house. This is a beautiful home but it was not ideal for our family.
2.5 / 5.0
Impressed would be a understatement. The property was better than expected. There more than enough space space for the 7 in our party and the house is full of amenities and things to do. Will definitely look for an opportunity to bring our families next time. Kathryn was very quick to respond and flexible with all of our requests. I would highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a true getaway from the city life.

Great time in the Iron Range. Gorgeous home and property. Very relaxing. Had all the amenities we needed and more. Would love to stay again in the future.
2.5 / 5.0
This property is truly amazing and the cabin is spectacular. More then enough room for a larger group of 8-12. Kathryn was great through the entire process. Northern Minnesota is beautiful this time of year. The cabin is in a great spot for fishing and a world class golf course is near by. Great experience!
2.5 / 5.0
Kathryn was very responsive and quickly answered any questions. The house is beautiful and the setting is perfect. We had a great time with our three families!
