Overall development property and grounds very nice, great location in center of Algrave region with golf and fabulous beach. This unit is located next to the Pine Cliffs entry gate second floor with no view and no elevator. Steps were covered with bird droppings. Pine trees drop heavy sap covering the parked cars. The unit itself was dated, and on arrival we were greeted with a bucket & mop left in the entry hall. The dishwasher was filled with dishes not put away, and we found at least one very dirty wine glass left in the cabinet. The entry door left lock & latch was loose and rattled all night if the wind blew. Owners canceled our advanced paid in full reservation the day before arrival because they said they had not heard from us. Our last communication the week before confirmed our arrival for our paid reservation. Our communication verified we would provide all required passport numbers and personal information immediately on arrival as with all other VRBO rentals. However, the owners, not using the Property management services of the Pine Cliffs development were insisting we send this information in advance over the internet which we were not comfortable doing and was not necessary until our arrival. The last minute unjustified cancelation was only corrected at the last minute by contacting VRBO who intervened. Additionally, the owner in their cancellation notice indicated they had refunded our full payment, but in fact admitted to VRBO that they had only refunded our security and cleaning deposit, not the actual prepaid rental fees. We provided the owner with several detailed communications following our payments and verified arrival plans. Yet the owner in canceling us stated we had not confirmed our arrival. VRBO staff, after reviewing the communications available on the reservation, informed the owner that they could see our clear responses indicating our confirmation to make use of our paid reservation and our agreement to provide passport and other information, and could not understand the cancelation. Only then did the owner agree to honor our paid stay at the condo, but even with the written evidence on file, still blamed us as non responsive as the reason for cancelation. We can not recommend this particular condo and would not return. We would however recommend using the Marriott property management rentals which are updated units with nicer locations inside the overall development!

Apartment located on a great resort on the Algarve and next the beach

We stayed at this 1 bedroom ap on Aug 2016, a couple and our 21 son. We already knew the resort pine cliffs because we usually spend part of our holiday there. We highlight the very well maintained resort space, it has lots of facilities for a fantastic family holiday The beach is really great to have a walk, with partial access by lift, then by stairs, there are several pools throughout the resort, lounge chairs, beach towel availability , several restaurants with various food options. Just outside the resort there is a supermarket, where we can buy everything to make our own meals if that´s the option. The apartment, although being from the ones oldest of the resort it´s very well maintained / treated, very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The air condition on the bedroom and the living room is very good. Note that the apartment is located on the second floor without elevator, which for us was not a problem. The shower has a very low water pressure that´s a negative thing, ,otherwise, everything was fantastic and we highly recommend this accommodation option.

A wonderful relaxing week and a top resort!

Had a wonderful week with my family (Girl aged 13 and boy aged 8). We did not do any of the kids clubs that were available mainly due to not having enough time, but could tell that a lot of the kids seemed very busy with clubs and sports that were held in the resort. All the pools were outstanding with very comfortable sun loungers and plenty of them too. The restaurants were also lovely Piri Piri being our favourite. The apartment itself was quite large with a lovely big bed in the bedroom. Bathroom was also a good size with two sinks and a bath/shower. Kitchen is fully equipped and my favourite is the washing machine so you can keep on top of the laundry without it getting out of hand. Large sofa bed in the living room for the kids with plenty of spare bedding. Towels were also in great supply. No need to take pool towels either. The balcony area is small but is well equipped for bBBQ and seating for four. No sunbathing on there though. The owner of the property stayed in touch with us right up until before we left and is very pleasant to deal with. I would recommend this property due to the resort as you are hardly in the apartment. I would return to this apartment.

Fantastic holiday destination for kids and adults

We stayed in Cheryl's one bed apartment about 2 weeks ago and had a fantastic time. The apartment itself is great - it is really spacious and has everything you could possibly want from an apartment, ie. dishwasher, washing machine, telly (with Cbeebies - a must for all families with wee ones!) and dvd, and it was totally geared up for little ones, even providing socket covers to keep them safe! The apartment is only a short walk to the beach/pools/kids play area and it's also a short walk to the nearest supermarket/restaurants external to the resort, so it's in the perfect position really. The resort itself is lovely - 5 star luxury and very well kept. There are numerous pools to choose from, both outdoor and indoor, heated and unheated, with kiddie pools adjacent. The quality of the facilities is great, and the beach is a beautiful, sandy beach (great for hours of sand castle building!) with a great beach bar/restaurant. In short, this is a great holiday choice for people looking for something that caters both for children as well as adults, whilst retaining the quality and luxury that you're looking for when treating yourself to a holiday. It would of course be a great holiday choice for just adults too, but it offers lots of great activities to keep wee ones entertained. Highly recommended!!

Great for young kids

Great for young kids

We had a lovely holiday with a 2 year-old. Comfortable apartment in a child-friendly resort. Choice of pools, clean beach and plenty of bars/restaurants nearby. Hotel bars and restaurants were pricey but there are plenty of others in walking distance. Hiring a car meant that we could venture around the area but it was not essential. We'd love to go again.

This resort is superb. It is a large, clean & pretty complex with several swimming pools & restaurants. There is a kids playground, kids club, crazy golf & a large smart adult golf course. At one end of the resort is a large grass area with sun beds & pine trees near to the cliff top with a cocktail bar, plus a lift & stairs which takes you to a lovely soft sandy beach. Pretty much, all what you need for a wonderful holiday, is all here on this resort? This one bedroom apartment is a great size property throughout which benefits from a through reception room & a private roof terrace. The property is well located within the complex.

We spent 10 days with our 1 1/2 year old in this spacious 1 Bedroom near the main entrance to Pine Cliffs. Within walking distance to pools, playgrounds, golf, restaurants and totally quiet, it was an ideal place to have a baby who needed her afternoon rest. The kitchen was totally equipped, and the covered terrace was a perfect place to take refuge from the sweltering late August heat...the A/C worked like a charm when needed. Kid friendly, comfy and well located...like a vaction should be!

We rented this apartment for 2 weeks in April 2010 and enjoyed it so much we are going back there in the summer. The property is very comfortable and contained everything we needed. The apartment was very clean, there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows, a good sized fridge-freezer and sun loungers to sit outside. The apartment provides a lovely cool haven from the heat of the sun and I loved the fact that from the sun lounge all you can see is the tree tops, so you can imagine being hundreds of feet up in the air. The train around the resort is just outside and the apartment is a 10 minute walk from the Sheraton's pools and restaurants, golf course and of course the walkway to the wonderful beach.

A great holiday experience with plenty of variety

The apartment provided the perfect venue for a week of relaxation, rest and recreation. It more than measured up to our expectations - beautifully and simply appointed it was spacious and offered real privacy. Away from the main complex and facilities, it provided quiet, but lovely walks to restaurants, the golf course and clubhouse, and the beach. Not being on the ground floor was a bonus for us as we were undisturbed by other guests. In addition to the self-catering option, we found the variety of restaurants on site offered us good options for eating out. Going at the beginning of February we found the weather to be ideal for us - cooler but still warm and ideal for golf at all times of the day, as well as for long walks along the beach which is accessible by lift as well as stairs for the more energetic. We never had any problems booking a tee time every day, and liked the fact that the 9-hole course left us time during the day to do other things, too. The resort is ideally located on the Algarve, and we explored other resorts and golf courses easily due to the excellent highway network, as well as taking advantage of travelling inland to historical villages and sites, the mountains to the north, and towns and beaches along both the Mediterranean and Atlantic. The local industries (including pottery and tiles) also provided good purchasing opportunities. The resort lived up to our expectations in terms of facilities, friendliness and service. The high standards of cleanliness and maintenance of the apartment were reflected in the state of the whole resort. There was good pedestrian access to local supermarkets and shops and post office. The facilities at the resort were easy to find, well-advertised and competitively priced. I would recommend this apartment to friends of all ages looking for a great break away, because there is something to interest everyone - whether they are sports mad, just want to read and relax on the beach, or are interested in more cultural pursuits.

Great autumn getaway

Without doubt this is a great location for a relaxing break. I along with my wife and teenage daughter thoroughly enjoyed our late autumn getaway. The facilities were first class and the apartment was excellent with high quality fittings thoughout. The highlight of every day was definitely the Mirador bar, watching the sun go down perched over the cliff edge whilst sipping an ice-cold glass of pink champagne. And then the evening meal! Top quality food with superb service, attentive but not intrusive. And finally relaxing in the bar with a glass of two listening to the live music. My daughter though this was just perfect. I can honestly say I would recommend it to anyone.
