About this house rental
Start your day with coffee on the porch overlooking a meadow, enjoy the sun coming up as it lights up the Mountain. This home is jusit a few blocks form the center of town, with it's galleries, and shops. The home has been completely refurbished just a few years ago, it is bright and sunny.
Original refinished fir floors complement the living and dinning room. The interior is tastefully decorated, and is very inviting.
The Kitchen has the original sugar pine counters, and comes fully equipped with all that is needed to host a large crowd. A BBQ is situated on the back porch and the patio area is ready for the event.
Washer and dryer is on site. One of the baths offers a claw foot tub, while the other has a marble shower, and a stained glass window that illuminates the room with dancing colored light.
This is centrally located in the heart of McCloud, close to all of the galleries and shops. It is also only a short stroll away from Hoo Hoo park where you can enjoy the day playing Bocci Ball on the brand new Bocci Ball Courts.

We stayed for a couple nights, and the host was very easy to communicate with. It was a great spot to meet friends with a nice backyard area and it is a short walk to town. Parking is convenient and views of Mt. Shasta are stunning. I would definitely stay here again next time we make the trip to McCloud!

This little house is conveniently located about a 4 minute walk from the McCloud Hotel where our meeting was held. We enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood and the quaint decor. The owner was very responsive to all our requests and very easy to work with.

This home was very clean and neat. We found it equipped with every thing we could possibly need for our stay. It was just a step out the back door and across the street to our event at the Mercantile. We will be back!

Very nice and cozy place to call home for a few days. Well stocked kitchen (in terms of pots and pans, plates, flatware, etc.) Beautiful, large backyard that we did get any use of because it was winter, but would be lovely in the summer. Thanks!

the house served our purpose of being close to the McCloud Hotel for a family wedding well. It would have been nice if the rear yard had been cleaned up of the rotting apples, and there needs to be a way to turn off the light string, as it disrupted the views of the stars, and glared into the house all night.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Check-in was clearly communicated and smooth. The water was initially not on due to some city work, but this was clearly communicated to us by the property owner. The property is close to some amazing natural sights. We spent a little time kayaking on Siskiyou Lake in the shadow of Mt. Shasta and visited the headwaters of the Sacramento River. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to spend some time in the Mt. Shasta area. Thank you.

Our stay was very nice. The location was perfect. The house was comfortable except at night the bedrooms were warm would have been nice to have fans in the rooms. Also the shower nozzle it would be nice to have had a removable handle. Overall it was a wonderful stay. We enjoyed our time in McCloud.

This home was exactly what we were looking for when we booked. The home was very spacious and had plenty of room for our group of 5. The backyard was great with the table, chairs, and fire pit. The location was perfect. Only a few minutes walk from the Mercantile, museum, coffee and outdoor shop, and Frosty. I can not stay enough how peaceful this location was. No noise whatsoever. I highly recommend the Simpsons home for your next stay. I will try and book here again for our next trip.

This was a first visit to the Shasta area and a first family vacation together.
Overall we were pleased and comfortable with this home , but we also noticed right away that it wasn’t what the pictures led us to believe.

We were disappointed in the state of the front yard..just dry weeds..not good curb appeal. Strange that the only refrigerator is through a closed door in the laundry room. Experienced some big black spiders in the house. But..... we enjoyed ourselves very much. The ambiance in the house is peaceful, quiet and we had everything we needed. It is decorated "eclectic" style and fun. We enjoyed all the antique touches from the furniture to the doorknobs! But, fix the yard......had we seen an upclose picture online of the front yard, we would not have reserved this house. Thanks............Pat Bergen

House is well decorated and cozy. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. Surrounding scenery is very beautiful and offers some nice hiking to the falls. We really enjoyed our evenings visiting around the fire in the backyard. A very nice trip.

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful home during a major atmospheric storm. Unfortunately we were not able to do all the outdoor stuff we had planned but luckily we were able to comfortably relax, cook, sleep, play games, watch TV in this very cute house. We loved the decorations and antique furniture. We had a very nice stay.

Very nice antique home that is well taken care of. Location was nice and quiet and close to local restaurants. If I had any complaint, would be the bedrooms need ceiling fans because they get a little warm at night. The portable A/C unit keeps the living room nice and cool, but just not big enough to cool the bedrooms. But overall had a great weekend.

This house was exactly what we were hoping for when booking our stay in McCloud. The house was clean and spacious. We especially enjoyed the back patio and short walks into town. The house is just a short drive from so many different lakes and was a great place to return to relax and make dinner. A must stay!!!

Cozy home, quiet location but close enough to downtown McCloud. The backyard was an enjoyable place to sit and enjoy the foliage and spring weather.

Cute house, we couldn’t get the kitchen faucet to turn off..
We are still trying to get an IWATCH that was accidentally left behind but the owners keep saying they can’t get in touch with house keeping. The place definitely wasn’t clean when we got there. It needed vacuumed and mopped and the bathtub was really dirty.

It was a very comfortable house. Great location.
I would have loved to see maybe a list of instructions. We couldn’t figure out the outdoor lights out back and couldn’t find any wood. Our TV didn’t come in clear for having cable. Other than that it was a fabulous property and I would rent it again!!

McCloud memorial
Wonderful time in McCloud, very close to town, and the house very roomy and very cute! I can just imagine it decorated for Xmas! We weren’t able to have the memorial due to all parks being closed, due to fires, so we will be back in may to spread ashes .. thank you again for sharing your wonderful home!

Great Floor Plan!
Fiddlers Rest has a great floor plan if you need 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.
The bedrooms are spread out and offer privacy from each other. There is a formal dining area, breakfast bar in kitchen and plenty of outdoor space for outside dining and lounging.
I have rented the home twice and have been very comfortable both times.

Lovely little spot!
The house was exactly as advertised & we were thankful for the portable A/C as it was very hot while we were there! Property owners were super helpful and responsive. Lovely spot for visiting the Shasta area. We would return!

Fantastic!
Linda was amazing! Through no fault of hers, there was an issue with the property. She immediately did everything possible to help make it right. In the end we had a wonderful vacation in McCloud -- super cute town by the way. Fantastic property owners, wonderful to work with. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Family Getaway celebration a success!
Our extended family booked not only this property but another by the same owner to celebrate a high school graduation and the owners were great in setting the property for group dinners in the backyard. Excellent stay, great location, highly recommend staying here.

Vintage cottage in charming McCloud
Step back in time and enjoy the eclectic ambiance of cottage life. This rental is located a block from downtown and many historic buildings worth exploring. Beautiful backyard area with wonderful view of Mt Shasta from the picnic table. Wifi was great. Even re-learned how to use a bathtub! Kitchen well stocked. Washer/dryer a plus. Good home base for exploring Mt Shasta, Burney Falls, McCloud River 3 Falls, Heart Lake and Castke Crags (recommend all these). Even went as far as Lassen Volcanic National Park (2 hours to nearest entrance (Loomis); 4 to Warner Valley and geothermal fields, which were totally worth the drive).

Wonderful stay in McCloud
My family and I had a lovely stay at Fiddlers Rest. Linda and Dale were very welcoming and great hosts. The backyard has an unobstructed view of Mt. Shasta, where I sat drinking coffee in the morning and beer in the evening.
There is a ton of great hiking spots nearby, including a lot of waterfalls.

We enjoyed our stay. House is located so close to town. Everything we needed was supplied. We plan on staying again. I would recommend to family and friends.

Charming Comfortable Home
This house was even nicer than pictured in the photos. The connected living room and dining room created a nice big open space to eat and hang out. The beds were very comfortable and the house contained everything we needed. The location is wonderful. You can easily walk to all the businesses in McCloud. And it is an easy drive to all the best local hiking. I highly recommend this property.
