About this house rental
Our beach lover's paradise is a beautiful three story quality-crafted home that sleeps ten in comfort- but also works great as a hideaway for two. The house is equipped and furnished with everything you might want at the beach.
The house, located within the beautiful Silverstrand beach community, was built in 2003. The designer home has three bedrooms on the third floor which are secluded and private. The two smaller rooms have queen beds and mirrored wardrobe doors, they share a full bathroom; the Master Suite includes a California King bed, a gas fireplace, a TV, skylight, claw-foot bathtub, oversized vanity with his and her sinks, walk-in closet, a large walk-in shower with three separate showerheads, and attached balcony. The Master Suite has a stunning view of the Ocean with windows from floor to ceiling.
The second floor includes a gourmet kitchen, a Great Room with a 50 inch plasma screen, the dining room/living room with a table that seats 10, a smaller bedroom with a full bed and a powder room (half bath).
The dining room/living room is floor to ceiling windows with a gas fireplace in one corner; the dining room opens to a deck with ocean view and a stairway leading down to the sand. The gourmet kitchen boasts of two sub-zero refrigerators, a Viking 6 burner gas/convection stove, a microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen environs may inspire budding chefs to sample the year round fresh produce and fresh fish from our local markets.
The house is loaded with speakers and an awesome Sonos Sound System so the music can play in the great room, the kitchen, the living room, the Master Suite, the outside deck and even the garage!
The first floor has a bedroom with a Cal King bed, mirrored wardrobe doors, a full bathroom, travertine tile floors, an entry room with a small refrigerator and microwave. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the sitting room. The garage is stocked with a BBQ, 5 bikes, 2 stand up paddle boards, 2 double sea kayaks, 4 boogie boards, 5 surf boards, 18 wet suits in various sizes, 8 beach chairs and umbrellas, a corn hole game, and sand toys. The gas Bar-B-Q can be rolled out of the garage out to the deck where you can watch the surfers play, and the sun set while BBQing your favorite meal.
The driveway can park 4 cars, please try to park in the driveway not in the street.
So, come enjoy a walk on the beach, gaze at brilliant starlit skies, or just sit on the deck and watch whales, pelicans, and dolphins frolic in the blue waters while you feel the romance and energy of the ocean.

We have booked this amazing house every summer for the last 8 years. It’s perfect for a multigenerational family get together and Ellen is always available if needed, which is rare. Before we leave the grandkids are begging we book again next year. Treat yourself and your family and book a stay there.

We have rented this house multiple times. It never disappoints. Once we get there, we spend our time cooking together, playing on the beach, surfing and riding the bikes in the garage. Everything you need is here and the owner is incredibly helpful.

This is our second time staying in this beautiful home. It has everything we need for a wonderful stay with our kids and grandkids. Inside the house offers breathtaking views and all the conveniences of a high-end home including an elevator. The outside offers seating on the second and third floor balconies, a deck and seating on the ground floor where you can watch the kids play in the sand, and it's just a short walk across the sand to the ocean. We love it here! We'll be back next year!

My wife and I loved our beach vacation with our blended family of 6 kids - ages 10-17. Home was beautiful with all the amenities. Being able to walk directly out the back to the sand and waves was perfect. Plenty of nice equipment available to use (boards, bikes, frisbees, etc). Beach was not crowded. Surfers were out catching waves most of the days we were there. Saw dolphins and sea lions. Kids loved beach life. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Owner was quick to respond to any needs.

This beach house exceeded my expectations. Beautiful house, Amazing views, perfect location and so many great options of beach toys for the kids to play with (surf boards, boogie boards etc.)
Ellen was always available to communicate with but didn't need to as everything was perfect and house was beyond fully stocked with necessities.
Would definitely stay here again.

This was our second stay at Ellen’s incredible beach house, and just like our first visit, everything was as close to heaven as you could get. The accommodations are pristine, the location is second to none, and Ellen’s communication and kindness is matched by no other host. The kids loved the wetsuits, boogie boards, and kayaks. The adults loved the amazing kitchen and beachfront patio that gave you the most amazing view of the setting sun over the beach. We’ve decided to make our visit to Oxnard and Ellen’s home a yearly tradition. Thank you Ellen for the joy and the memories!

This group of friends have come to call this the anual retreat at "THE" beach house. Its a place that we can spend days together in the expansive mail floor working on sewing projects, cooking gormet foods or sitting and staring. There are plenty of comfortable quiet spaces on the other floors to be alone as well. We have tried many others but this home has it all!

Everything about this house and location is PERFECTION! The kitchen is AMAZINGLY well stocked and the overall house has everything you need. We have LOVED staying here over the years and it is the ONLY beach house we will ever come to. Ellen is a FABULOUS host and we can't wait to come back again SOON!

This is the third time my family and I have rented this gorgeous beach house. It feels like a home away from home. Such a perfect space to gather and make unforgettable memories. Thanksgiving weekend was a repeat of a prior holiday weekend at the beach house. Once again, a perfect place to enjoy a family gathering. Add the lovely weather, and we couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. The house very comfortably accommodated our family, and being on the sand during the warm days was a great way to unwind for a few days. As always, Ellen was the perfect host, responding quickly to our questions and requests. This house will forever be on our “go to” list of getaway places!

This house is beautiful & the location is perfect. My family has stayed here 3 times. It makes you feel at home as it is decorated as though one was living there. It has everything you need. One never wants to leave the master bedroom. All of the beds are really comfortable except for the new trundle beds that were put in since the last time we were there. They are very uncomfortable. Other than that you will not find another VRBO as beautiful & comfortable as this place. I highly recommend it.

This house is not only beautiful but it is fully equipped to make your vacation fun filled. We have rented other homes when this one wasn’t available but this one is by far the best on the Strand! The upstairs master suite is a sanctuary with stunning views, a huge walk in shower with 3 shower heads and a very comfortable bed. The bedrooms are all nicely appointed and comfortable. The kitchen has 2 large fridges with freezers, perfect for entertaining and feeding large families. So much fun beach equipment is provided including wetsuits of various sizes. Our 10 & 12 yr old grandsons were able to find wetsuits that fit them and used the boogie boards to hit the waves just like the locals! Beach chairs are also provided. We didn’t use the bikes, kayak or surfboards this year but they were available and in good shape. This house has helped us make many happy memories over the years and we’re so glad we were able to return this year.

This was the best location for our annual friends weekend getaway! The house was beautiful, in a stunning location and very well appointed. Though we didn’t use all the toys I could see that it would be great for a young family. We took advantage of the decks and beach and just enjoyed the beautiful view! We had most meals at home and found the kitchen to have everything we needed. Thanks so much for a memorable weekend!

We have stayed at various beach houses in Oxnard for the last 20+ years and this was the most beautiful, well-appointed home. The layout is very comfortable and all the amenities were impressive. We never needed to contact the owner but I was confident that she would be responsive. We are still planning next year’s vacation and I hope we can return to this property.

I can’t say enough about this home. This was our third year coming and we plan on coming again next year. It is the very best vacation rental available in the area. The beach is perfect. The house is clean, stocked, and you immediately feel like home when you walk in. The view takes my breath away every morning. Worth every dollar.

This is our 5th year staying at Ellen’s. The house is perfectly situated on the beach with a lifeguard station nearby. The view is spectacular and Ellen’s attention to detail never ceases to amaze us. The house is simply perfect. This year the Grandsons learned to surf so will be booking again if space is available.

Had two families there. Plenty of room to feel comfortable no matter where you were at in the house. Plenty of toys, bikes, etc. to keep your party busy. Kids enjoyed the surround sound to play music. Kitchen has everything you need. Plenty of places to golf within 30 minutes of house. Owner of the house responds quickly if anything is needed.

I can honestly say that we just concluded the best family vacation we’ve ever had, and it was all because of Ellen and her incredible beach house. To start, Ellen is one of the most gracious and accommodating hosts I have ever interacted with on VRBO. She was responsive, willing to accommodate our requests whenever they were made, and was just so kind in all her communication. Her home is spectacular in every way—the house is literally on the most beautiful beach, decorated to perfection, with the most comfortable rooms, and an endless supply of entertainment. The wetsuits, boogie boards, kayaks, bikes, beach games and toys, multiple large screen TVs, and whole home stereo system was enjoyed by every member of my family. The view from the dining room table is spectacular! Ellen’s home and her amazing hosting gave us a slice of heaven for 3 days, and we are all so grateful to her!
