About this cottage rental

Quaint and comfortable: 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom cottage available for rent for your vacation or get-away. Over 1100 sq. ft. of living area. Master bedroom has a queen size bed and a small flat screen tv. Guest bedroom has 2 twin beds. Each bedroom as it's own bath. Covered front porch, with a swing and porch furniture. As well as a private, screened in back porch that has a small dining table and chairs for your enjoyment. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, a coffee maker, dishes and flatware. All linens are provided as well as several beach towels.
The Cracker House is not your typical Florida beach house, a friend of ours from North Carolina, has said that it's a 'Mountain Home at the Beach". While the Cracker House is certainly not upscale, we think you will find it clean, comfortable, charming and in a very quite neighborhood, with friendly neighbors.
There are 2 grocery stores, just a short drive south on AIA, as well as numerous restaurants within walking distance from our cottage, to enjoy, if you don't feel like cooking.

We love coming to this house, we very much enjoy the tranquility that we have also, just a few minutes in walking distance to the beach. Restaurants, ice cream shops and markets are super closer to the house, and you can walk to all of them. This cottage is our home away from our home.

My husband and I were fairly comfortable in this rental and it was quite clean, well cared for, and had everything we needed. I loved the screened in porch off the back. The only draw back of it was the noise from the neighbors with their rather loud vehicles and the home remodel noise from the house next door which shook the house. The other noise was from the central air which you could hear in the master bedroom kick on and off. The location is great as it was just down from the beach. Overall for cleanliness, owner communication, location, and general comfort I would recommend.

Just came back from our second trip to St. Augustine Beach and second stay at this property and both times we have been so sad to leave because it is our favorite beach, favorite place to stay, and holds so many special memories. Pat is easy and excellent to work with. The location is so affordable and still an easy walk/bike ride to the beach. The house is clean and has had everything we’ve needed. Most importantly it is pet friendly and has allowed us to bring our dogs (one in 2018 and a different one in 2024) to enjoy the sea and sand. I want to tell everyone how great it is and to book now, but I also selfishly want it to stay available because I feel like St Augustine and this property is a place we will probably return to again one day!

Such a charming cottage! The neighborhood is very quiet even though it is only two blocks from the busy thoroughfare. Pat, the property host, was very pleasant. We highly recommend the Cracker Cottage!

Enjoyed our stay very much. Wasn’t there much as we were out visiting our family that live local for the Christmas gatherings. One suggestion is to get smart TVs or fire sticks. All else was good. Had everything we needed to prep our dishes. Deffin recommend the area and the host. Thank you for allowing us to use your home during the holidays.

We have just returned home from our 23 night stay at the Cracker House. It has a great location close to the beach, restaurants, groceries and attractions. The house itself is a time capsule from the 60s which gives it a funky vibe but means some modern comforts are lacking. Our long stay would have been improved with the addition of brighter lighting especially for reading, some firm, well constructed seating, a smart TV and a hotel quality mattress. Loved St Augustine in December and will recommend it to everyone.

Great, quiet location at the end of a no-outlet street 3 blocks from the beach. Easy to drive 2 blocks across A1A, park in a public lot, and then to carry beach things 1 more block and onto the beach. The house is amply stocked with all kitchen utensils and glasses/dishes, coffee maker with coffee, hygiene and detergent products. Very cozy and wonderfully decorated. We enjoyed our week here!

3rd time we stay here and in 3 months we are staying again. We will continue to stay here whenever possible. This home has truly become our home away from home. We truly enjoy our stay each and every time we stay. From the well stocked kitchen, to the amenities, the privacy in the back yard, the swing in porch, the location is key. Just minutes to the beach and restaurants all within walking distance. Pat has truly become more than just a host, but a friend we can count on whenever we need her at our home away from home. She is easy to get a hold of and she has made the process of checking in and out a breeze. Did I mention we are coming back in November? lol , Pat, we can`t wait to come back in November. ( I did mention that we are coming back right), lol.

This is the second year in a row we stayed at the Cracker house and we absolutely love it. Location to the beach location to stuff in town everything is great neighborhood is real quiet felt safe with my child and they allowed me to bring my dog!!! 100% recommend staying here!! We really enjoyed our stay. Our fun began as soon as the sun started to rise as we hurried toward the short walk to the beach. My dog is young and this was his first beach trip. He was happy but overwhelmed. Coming back and sitting on the back screened in porch, watching lizards jump back and forth on the beautiful plants was the perfect remedy. The house is truly comfortable and inviting. Easy check in. Great location.

There’s lots to love about this property. Natural surroundings, quiet neighbourhood, and a 5 min walk to the beach. We enjoyed our stay at this comfortable, well-equipped, and tastefully decorated rental. The description and pictures were accurate and it was spacious for two adults. The location was excellent, a short walk to the beach in a nice residential neighborhood. We especially enjoyed the front porch and the fireworks on the beach on New Year's eve. There was public parking, restrooms, and a shower at the 10th Street entrance, very convenient. We had a small problem with the lockbox because we missed the access instructions and arrived after dark. However, we were quickly able to talk to the owner and get it resolved. We recommend this rental and would happily stay again!

The location of this property is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood with a 5-minute walk to the beach. Restaurants and shopping very close and an easy drive into St. Augustine. The home had a cottage feel, was clean and well equipped. We were delighted to find beach chairs and towels. The kitchen was perfect for eating in. The accommodation had everything promised. Further, for us owning a dog and being able to bring him for our stay added much joy to each day. We are already looking forward to a return trip in 2023.

I found the perfect place to wind down and relax. It was just me and my dog. I didn’t have to drive anywhere except to go see the holiday lights in Saint Augustine 3 miles away. The small full-size house was completely furnished and had everything in the kitchen you would need to prepare your own meals. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from for every meal that are all very good, but I had brought food in order to stay on my diet! Description was accurate of the house. It is truly a mountain cottage near the beach. Access was easy to the house and Pat emailed to make sure everything was fine. I felt comfortable that she was just an email or call away if I had any questions. When you step off the front porch, you can hear the tide at the beach at night and in the morning. Every morning I walked to the beach to see the sunrise. The same group of locals with their dogs were there every morning. I was sad to leave!
