About this house rental

Fully furnished with linen, duvets and towels provided. Large deck with outdoor furniture and BBQ. Master bedroom has its own balcony that overlooks lake and boat ramp. Also on site for your use is a double garage. Pohutukawa Lake House-Lake Tarawera sleeps 7. Lake access is nearby with a selection of excellent beaches. Reserve opposite. Only 3 minutes by car to boat ramp.
WiFi, Netflix, a wide range of indoor games available along with up to date magazines, DVD collection and library. There is also a table tennis table, 2 mountain bikes, cricket set, rugby ball, soccer ball available for your use.
Enjoy lake edge walks, swimming, fly fishing or explore the lake. Ten minutes drive to the Landing Cafe and Buried Village. 15 minute drive to mountain bike carpark to access 150km+ of world famous Whakarewarewa mountain bike trails and the Forest Loop Great Ride. Twenty five minutes drive to central Rotorua. Base to enjoy other Rotorua attractions.

Such a beautifully presented and spectacularly located holiday home. We had a fantastic time and some much needed rest and relaxation. Communication was fantastic including excellent suggestions of things to do in the area. We were greatful for the extra duvets on the bed and fireplace, as the weather was colder than we are used to. We had a wonderful stay at Pohutukawa Lake House. We found the area by accident and had no idea that Lake Tarawera was such a beautiful location. The house overlooks the lake with stunning views from the deck. The house is very pleasant and well-appointed. It is quiet and private. We loved the busy bird-life and extensive gardens. There is plenty of room so it would be well-suited to couples or families.

The house was lovely, just as described, and very clean and comfortable. The views of the lake and surrounding area are amazing! If the weather is nice and you leave the windows and doors open you hear nothing but birdsong. The kitchen was large and well-furnished with all the equipment we needed to cook our own meals. The washer and dryer worked great (the dryer is in the garage, which surprised these two Americans, but it was perfect once we realized where it was). Would highly recommend!

Down for Garden Festival + decided to stay out at this lovely spot at the lake. Kitchen big enough for 3 women to prepare and cook! Fire being set for our arrival was much appreciated. Good instruction + recommendations booklet. Great views, sunny living areas, amazing deck off the master bedroom. Easy walks in the area and by the lake.

Great place to stay out on the lakes edge with an amazing outlook. Surrounded by birds, with glow worms as an added bonus out the back of the house. Everything that could possibly be needed for a holiday was supplied. Would stay again and recommend to anyone who is interested in a visit to Rotorua.

This is a unique home high above the town and lake. We enjoyed the views and sitting by the fire place at night. The home could use some up dates. but overall a wonderful experience! We all were comfortable!! 2 couples has a great stay!

We spent 6 nights at this lovely house. It was so wonderful to wake up in the morning to a view of the lake and the sound of the most beautiful birds. The kitchen had everything we needed, and Mike was very responsive to us. We used the house as a base to explore Rotorua and ventured out to visit Hobbiton. There’s so much to do that we could have stayed longer! An overall fabulous place to stay while exploring Rotorua!

Mike is a very friendly and helpful host. He offered lots of good advice and checked on us to make sure we were ok after the near cyclone conditions which hit the area while we were there. The lodge definitely has the wow! factor and is very comfortable. We welcomed the extras in the kitchen like oil, salt, coffee and kitchen roll. The lodge has beautiful views over the lakes with a lovely outdoor space, perfect for taking a morning coffee and listening to the bird song.

Mike is the perfect host, answering questions, checking in, and after departure. House is beautiful and comfortable; the setting is stunning. We didn’t have great weather, but loved retreating to the house to wait out the rain. Misty views, visiting quails, a lovely week.

We booked for a long weekend, to be near the lake and driving distance to the mountain bike tracks in Rotorua. The location was great and the lake was awesome for swims with the kids. The bach was tucked away in the bush with amazing views. It was well equipped for bbqs on the deck and space for everyone.

Mike was a super host, and my other half and the doggos loved the serenity of the house and the location while I was off mountain biking at whakarewarewa forest. The drive is a bit of a mission by doable. Fire heats up the place fast and there is plenty of heaters to keep yo warm on the cold nights. Lots of walking options around the lake nearby as well. Thanks for a loverly weekend
