Escape to this dream cabin in the woods with a private hot tub and river views. Located in Rhododendron right on the Sandy River, this beautiful abode is less than 25 miles from the slopes of Mt. Hood, where you'll find world-class skiing and snowboarding! This stunning region provides many options for year-round outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and swimming! Rhododendron is truly a mountain town with a few outdoor-friendly restaurants, bars, and a grocery store. The nearby towns of Welches, Brightwood, and Government Camp provide more mountainside fun, like lookout points and places to kayak and fish.

Day trips are also a great option from here - the Columbia River Gorge is about 30 miles away, with world-famous windsurfing, kite surfing, and stunning views of waterfalls and mountains. The town of Hood River provides several brewery options and plenty of festivals and events year-round.

Outside on the deck is a picnic table, patio furniture, and a gas grill where you can whip up a barbecue feast. Down the hill by the river, there's a hammock, firepit, and several swings where the kids can play.

This home is outfitted with timber beams and woodsy decorations to create a lodge-like vibe. The living area is warm and spacious, with slanted wooden ceilings and natural lighting. Sink into one of the leather sofas and watch a favorite DVD on the TV. The full kitchen is charming, with complementing patchwork wood cabinets and an adorable breakfast nook in the corner where you can sip coffee and admire the forest views! There's also a private washer/dryer and WiFi for total comfort.

This Mt. Hood vacation rental has something for everyone in your group to enjoy!

Our summer stay was great! We spent most of our time outside on the deck, in the hot tub, or exploring the river. The sound of the river was incredibly relaxing. Other reviews have mentioned the hot water having a smell & the house not being super clean but we had a great time anyway. We would love to come back & stay again!

This house is tucked in near the main highway, but far enough away to hear no highway noise. It also has a 100 foot walk down to the river with a private sitting area right next to it with a hammock! Beautiful and relaxing!!

A quaint, clean, quiet, well appropriated cabin in the woods. The kitchen had everything you’d need and the smart TV and WiFi was surprisingly fast. We really enjoyed morning coffee on the deck and afternoons sitting down by the river. Our dogs had a blast. You can’t see or hear the neighbors making you feel like you’re alone in the woods. We’ve already booked our next visit.

We loved that the river ran right behind the house. It's too bad the water in the house smells so bad.

The location is lovely, a beautiful view of the river. The living room furniture was comfortable. There is a bad smell when you take a shower. I had to call Vacasa because the hot tub wasn't heating up. I was told to turn it off and wait 5 minutes and then turn it back on. This worked. I had to do this 3 different times because each time I wanted to use the hot tub it would not heat up without turning it off first. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

Our family of 6 (kids age 16, 12, 9, 5) stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the Mt Hood area. The cabin is very rustic & cute, but not so much elegant. Some of the furniture & linens are showing signs of needing to be replaced & it would have been nice to have some plastic glasses/cups for the kids & out in the hot tub. Hot tub was a big hit & being able to relax in it while listening to the river was perfect. The location of the cabin was awesome with the river right in the backyard next to the fire pit & some yummy restaurants a few minutes away. One thing to note is there are a lot of stone steps down to the river/fire pit that can get a bit slippery & scary in the dark. Definitely need to use flashlights or lanterns to safely get down/up at night. Overall our family enjoyed our stay.

This place delivered, we appreciated the hot tub, the pet friendliness and the coziness. I will say that the hot tub does clearly need a seasonal clean at this point, there was sand and debris especially because it is under trees & the edge of the roof so even while we were sitting in it, enough blew in. Additionally, the house key & gate key boxes on the outside of the house seem to be mixed up. We had to put the provided house key code into the gate key box to get the house key. This was after the sun had set and it was getting very cold so it was a frustrating start to the visit but fairly smooth after. The hot water does smell sulfery/like rotten eggs which I know is common in vacation homes but it is VERY present so heed that warning if smells bother you. The fireplace also seems to need to be cleaned, we read a hand written tip in the welcome book to open the kitchen door or else the living room fills with smoke while using the fireplace and that was accurate.
