About this cabin rental

This Rocky Mountain ranch is completely surrounded by the Pike National Forest and is located within 20-30 minutes of Colorado Springs for city/tourist activities by scenic gravel mountain road once used by stage coaches to reach the Cripple Creek mining area. It's a few miles out of town, but it's a different world...

This amazing cabin is best suited for at least the semi adventurous. Located up a dirt, mountain road that can be seen on YouTube by typing in "Old Stage Road Colorado Springs" Be sure that you are comfortable with the road before you make your reservation.

The cabin is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. A one-third acre trout-stocked pond is just outside the cabin door with c/r fishing allowed. The Old Stage Riding Stables is on property for horseback riding with viewing of elk and bison on site.

We loved our stay at this little cabin! It’s an adventure getting up the road to it, but once you’re there, it’s great!

Eve was fantastic! She checked in with us to make sure we were settled in and made sure we could reach her with any concerns. WiFi was good, reception for the phone not so good. The video of the road was super helpful and we were prepared for the drive. The first time up did have me sweating (Iowa girl) but that didn’t stop us from traveling up and down everyday. The fishing was a little slow for my 14 yr old son, as it was pretty hot out, but as any fisherman knows the enjoyment is having a line in the water. Everything inside was clean, and tidy. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for to relax and explore Colorado.

The two bedroom cabin has plenty of space, including a large living room and kitchen open area. It is very close to the old stage riding stables but very private. Outdoors is the natural beauty of Cheyenne mountain, and plenty of room to explore, and access to hiking trails to spectacular views. Take the time for a horseback ride along forested trails with experienced guides, and don’t miss stopping for lunch or dinner at the old stage road Cantina. Both are more than worth the drive up the mountain even if not staying. This cabin and property is perfect for couples or families to commune with nature while not giving up modern consciences and comforts. We will be back.

It is pricy, but being in the woods makes it the true Colorado experience.

I brought my 4 kids to Colorado to see the mountains in all their beauty and found the perfect cabin on a beautiful mountain. The drive up was scenic and breath taking and the lcabin was cozy, but with all the amenities you could ever need. We had hours of fun on the Trout Pond, hiked the mountain trails, made the short drive to Pikes Peak and Garden Of the Gods and enjoyed a perfect trail ride at the stables followed by an amazing BBQ dinner at the Stage Stop Cantina. The property owner was more than accommodating and helpful when needed and always quick to respond to communication. We will definitely be back and hopefully soon!
