About this house rental

Unit 18 offers great ocean views, North, South and West. Our home is surrounded by commons and the bluff trail is a 5 minute walk down the hill. Enjoy a cozy fire in the circular fireplace or a meal on one of the two decks. The home offers 3 traditional bedrooms (K, Q, and 2T) as well as a den with a queen futon and it's own bath. North Rec Center is a 20 minute walk and the lodge a 40 minute hike to the south. Fast internet with Sea Ranch Connect.

In five minutes you’re on the trail with incredible views. Add five minutes more & a couple of coves with the harbor seals. After a walk with incredible views, you can head back to a very comfortable home. I agree with the previous visitors who said the home is well stocked. I hope to return. Good memories!

The house is spacious and offers sweeping views of the ocean. We enjoyed hanging out in the living room as a family. There’s plenty of space for (6 of) us to find a corner to read or to play board games together. We marveled at the amazing sunsets and saw deer nearly every night.

We loved Kurt’s house - great views, cool fireplace, and the den was indeed private and served as a perfect 4th bedroom. House was exactly as described and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

We came to Kurt's home to celebrate our mother's life a year after she passed. She loved Sea Ranch, and she would have loved Kurt's home, with its large windows and beautiful views, and its easy access to trails and to ocean coves. Thank you, Sherrie and Mark

Overall wonderful experience. Kurt, the owner, is accessible and answered our questions prior to and during our stay. Make sure to close windows at night to avoid four-legged visitors such as raccoons.

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing stay. We hiked, saw lots of harbor seals, wild turkeys, deer, oyster catchers, cormorants and more. Would love to return.

The Thiels' rental was the vacation we didn't know we needed. Evenings were filled with lively conversations and laughter around the cozy fireplace, creating unforgettable memories. During the day, we explored stunning landscapes on invigorating hikes just outside the door without needing to get in the car to go far to hit a trail. Nighttime brought a mesmerizing stargazing session on the deck. Waking up to the serene ocean view each morning reminded us of the peaceful beauty that enveloped us, making our stay an unforgettable escape. We hope to visit again.

Owner maintains the property well, amenities are as described, and reference book provided all the necessary information about the home, as well as numerous points-of-interest. Beautiful environment, relaxing all around, and great place for a reset.

Ocean views were excellent and the supply of games/puzzles was superb. Recommend the owner update heating system to add circulating fan for air (or dual zone heating). The downstairs bedrooms were quite chilly while upstairs was very toasty. Thermometer was located upstairs and with a fire, heater would not come on to heat the downstairs area.

My two adult granddaughters and I had a very restful weekend. The weather was stormy but with a cozy fire we had a great weekend. Brief periods of clearing allowed running and walking. I will consider staying again My questions were answered in a timely manner and helped us have. a good time.

With the initial weather stacked against us and a long drive due to a flooded road that required a detour, we still had a very enjoyable stay here. It is quiet, with amazing views. It is comfortable, with virtually any amenity required for a a stay. Kurt was very responsive, even while out of the country. And what is there to say about Sea Ranch? It is pretty swank in a hush/hush kind of way. And the miles of nearly flat coastal hiking trails are a delight, as are the community pools. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location perched up with view of sea but less than 10 minute walk to Coastal trail. Best stocked vacation rental Ive ever rented. Amazing views, comfortable beds, excellent fire place plus good central heating. Less than 8 mins to Guala which was convenient.

We had the most relaxing stay at this beautiful sea ranch house. The house is fully stocked with cabinet condiments like salt,vegetable oils, ect( which were greatly appreciated, as it seems bnb homes never have anymore). The house has a spectacular view from the upper level that it’s hard not to sit and take sighs of relief that you get to experience such a great place. It is only a short hike through the neighborhood to beautiful pebble beach. Grocery store is an 8 minute drive. We took our toddler and the house was even baby proofed with gates and slide doors that other guest’s barely noticed but that we greatly appreciated. I can’t say enough good things about this home or how easy and peaceful it was to stay there.

Our group (ages 19-70+) all agreed that in our combined experience with a large number and variety of Sea Ranch rentals over several decades, this is the best overall experience we have had. The property is large yet cozy, well maintained, outfitted with lovely art, books, games, has many creature comforts, a well-stocked kitchen, two easy ways to access the bluff trail, one of the best views we've ever seen, and the most charming central fireplace! It was very well stocked with necessities, firewood, etc. and instructions from the host were very clear and helpful. We loved it so much that we unanimously agreed to immediately rebook for our annual trip next year. Book this property - you won't be disappointed!

This is a lovely home and one of the best rentals we’ve experienced in over 30+ years of vacationing over the Christmas holidays at Sea Ranch. We appreciated the family atmosphere. This rental felt like a home — not a rental. The kitchen is well-equipped for holiday cooking, and all the appliances work. Beautiful ocean views and easy access to walking trails made for an excellent getaway. Thank you.

We have rented a variety of homes in Sea Ranch over the past 30 years, but this property was one of the nicest - beautiful setting, great views, well equipped in terms of paper products, extra towels, kitchenware, etc. We especially enjoyed the downstairs family room with wet bar which was a great gathering place for before dinner cocktails or to watch something on TV. Kurt Thiel, the owner, was a pleasure to work with - very responsive to all my questions and was gracious enough to allow us an earlier check-in time. We would definitely enjoy staying here again and would recommend to friends - a wonderful Sea Ranch experience!

Our home was in a beautiful location overlooking the great Pacific Ocean!! Perfect views!! The place was clean, but needs a lot of updating. The basement smelled of mold and mildew. Overall, the 4.9 average rating was misleading to us.

Our stay at Sea Ranch was so peaceful. With the windows open, the distant sound of the ocean surf was a constant background refrain that accompanied every moment. When my family sat at the table to eat or play a game, we watched the hummingbirds eat at the feeder. One night we watched the deer grazing in the yard, their antlers poking through the tall grasses at the edge of the property and their tentative steps onto the grass proof of the relaxing and peaceful venue. The view of the ocean through the large glass windows spanning the western side of the house was beautiful, the waves stretching forever onto the horizon and crashing against the rocky cliffs off to the south. My son and husband enjoyed running on all the trials, both along the seaside and across the highway in the hills and ridges of Sea Ranch. We did go to the Sea Ranch Association to buy a map. From the house we were just a quick drive to the beach, Gualala (for groceries and restaurants) and to Point Arena to the B. Bryan Preserve to feed the giraffes. The Preserve is highly recommended as it is enlightening, very interesting and fun to meet up close, and even feed, the giraffes.
