About this house rental
Casa Tierra is a unique historic adobe in a superb location: 4 blocks from the Santa Fe Plaza and 1 block off art-studded Canyon Road. This 2 bedroom/2 bath casita is tucked back from the Santa Fe River; the 6 minute stroll to the center of town is along shady sidewalks and seasonally flowing water.
This authentic adobe is hand-mudded in the ancient ways of native peoples. It is this rare and lovely hand-applied earthen surface that lends the house its name, Casa Tierra - House from the Earth. Casa Tierra is one of only six all-adobe, all-mudded homes remaining today in Santa Fe.
Upon entering Casa Tierra, you are greeted by a great room with high viga-beam ceilings, herringbone brick floors, fireplace, and museum quality art and antiques. The living room opens onto a granite topped kitchen with five burner stove. Both bedrooms offer a king or two-twin-beds sleeping option (new beds!) and each has its own joyfully tiled Talavera bath. Handmade doors, furnishings, carvings and woodwork throughout offer a rustic Old World ambiance.
Casa Tierra opens out onto four private and inviting sitting areas beneath venerable Cedar and Cypress trees--perfect for communing with friends or simply relaxing and enjoying time alone. This is truly an Oasis by the Santa Fe River.

The stunning casa offers gorgeous amenities and captures the spirit of Santa Fe. A close walk to Canyon Road and the downtown plaza were perfect. We didn’t need to drive anywhere (except Ten Thousand Waves). A quiet retreat from the crowds on the plaza. Restaurant suggestions in the book were spot on! Such a lovely space to be with family. Thank you Emily & Noel for sharing this sanctuary!

This location is excellent and so quiet. Due to some showers the park and river were lush and green. Excellent spot in Santa Fe!

This was an ideal location to the plaza and surrounding area. The house is comfortable, clean and inviting. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

We stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed the back patio and the cottage, both nestled under 2 enormous trees - one an Atlas cedar and the other an huge cypress. The interior was comfortable with lots of natural light. The kitchen was also well stocked.
We also liked the car port and room off street to park two and even three cars. We would definitely stay there again.

This is one of the very best places we have stayed. The home is immaculate, beautiful, well-appointed, spacious. We were so happy to return every afternoon after visiting museums and galleries. We walked to fantastic restaurants each evening (in fact, the location was so good we never had to use the car during our 3-day stay). We look forward to staying here again!

I go to Santa Fe a minimum of 4X a year. Place was lovely- older with charm and character. Friend trip of 60 and older. They can arrange beds into singles or kings, 2 per room and 2 functioning full baths.
We didn't manage the front door effectively- but one of the owners responded immediately. Owners have an excellent book on things to do (my top picks for restaurants were on their lists) and how to operate the house. It is a guest house- detached with a separate drive way and very private. EASY TO PARK. Lovely living room to visit in with some cool unique original art work the owner has done. Have already sent the link to another friend going this month. I'm more into locations and comfort. I will defiantly book again.

We really liked this house. Good location yet very quiet & pleasant. Nice walkway along the Sante Fe river. The house was cozy, decorated so nicely & had nice little extras here & there.

Great spot and perfect location. We were able to walk to everything.
Nicely equipped and historic architecture was facinating.

Loved Casa Tierra! The location is convenient to both the Plaza and Canyon Road, and the beautiful decor is truly "old Santa Fe". The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Also, the area is so quiet and peaceful. We couldn't have been more pleased!

A well located rustic accommodation with more than adequate kitchenware. Dark wood inside and narrow patio at the rear. Good parking. Brick floors throughout. Definitely old Santa Fe. Thanks for the stay.

Party of four celebrating anniversaries were willing to pay slightly steep rate for this very attractive adobe close to everything. Majority liked the beds, kitchen and LR nice, bathrooms adequate, patios terrific. Very good communication with host and great responses about everything.

We stayed for 5 nights at this lovely adobe in Santa Fe. It was the perfect location for walking to both Canyon Road and the Plaza area. The guest house was clean and comfortable. Noel and Peter were great and helpful. They shared with us their favorite restaurants and things to do in the area. We would stay here again our next time in Santa Fe.

This was our fourth stay at this property; we love it.
Great location, has everything we need. Easy walk or drive to everything.
Cool in the summer and cozy in the winter.
I hate to give it a great rating because that makes it harder to reserve... but fantastic all around.

Lovely and comfortable Santa Fe style house with everything we needed. The location was convenient to walk to the Plaza & Canyon Rd & numerous good restaurants. A bonus was the walking path outside the house along the Santa Fe River. Everyday we commented to each other how fortunate we were to enjoy such a wonderful place! Definitely will return!

Absolutely perfect. So well equipped, so thoughtfully prepared. Can’t wait to return!

Everything was perfect. It was Santa Fe all the way and so close to town but quiet and peaceful. The house had everything we needed and the kitchen well appointed.

This place is in a great area and was a cute place to stay. My only complaint is that there were spiders and I got bit by one on my forehead while I was sleeping. We also killed two black spiders in each of the bathrooms. We also saw a few little ants. Definitely needs a good bug spray. Other than that, everything was good.

Casita is wonderful! Welcoming, cozy and filled with interesting decor. Neighborhood safe and comfortable. Can walk to historic plaza and Canyon Road. Short ride to Museum Hill, Farmers’ Market and quality restaurants. It was everything I hoped it would be.

Lovely casita and perfect for our little mother-daughter getaway. Great location. Walkable to the Plaza & Canyon Road galleries. Easy check-in & out. We had a great stay. Thanks!

This home is very beautifully decorated in Santa Fe style, and a very convenient 6 minute walk to Canyon Rd and just 10 minutes to the downtown Plaza. Hosts could not have been more gracious and helpful. This will be our go to place on next visit to Santa Fe!

Quiet, comfortable, exceptionally well equipped!
Comfortable furnishings, kitchen has everything needed to make your favorite dish!
Kiva fireplace burns real wood.
Carport is a big plus in winter. No scraping snow off the vehicle!
This place is close to everything worth doing in and around Santa Fe.
We might just make this our “go to” place in Santa Fe!

This was our second time staying here, and it was even more delightful the second time. The snow from the previous day painted quite a scene for our December visit. The historic charm of the house, the regional antique and art furnishings and its location make it a winner. A block from Canyon road, a reasonable walk to the Plaza, a short drive to the Randall Davey Audubon Center and proximity to other attractions and places of interest are the icing on the cake. We would not hesitate to recommend this VRBO listing and will certainly book it again when we return to Santa Fe.

Location was fantastic! Short walk to Canyon Road galleries and restaurants. Lovely property, many amenities. We had a great time.
Thank you!

Loved this place! Met up with dorm friends from NAU - we first slept under the same roof 50 years ago! We had a blast! It's a beautiful home and perfect location! Everything was perfect!
Thank you so much!

Great location and the property was delightful - quaint in many ways as there were definite Historic characteristics - specifically the doors - Kitchen was well equipped - linens were nicely matched to the color scheme -There were 3 of us due to our 4th contracting Covid the week before and it was comfortable - 4 would have been tight - doable but tight. Would recommend!

Charming cottage. Easy walking distance to the plaza and Canyon Road. Bring your slippers for the brick floor! Wonderfully decorated with lots of art. Very nice linens and fully equipped kitchen. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t permit us to use the small sunny back patio.
10.0
Due to a family emergency, we were unable to use the property and owners were so flexible. Was able to transfer to a friend.

My family enjoyed staying at this property. It was close to everything a tourist is interested in-shops, restaurants and museums. The home was well a
Printed and very comfortable in between outings. The owners recommendations for dinners weee spot on. The back patio area was an added bonus. Absolutely beautiful with the fall leaves. We can’t wait to come back!

The art, the artisanal furnishings/structural elements, and the adobe are essential southwest. You know where you are, and benefit from the owner’s care and choices in creating this special environment. In addition, the location is very convenient, the neighborhood is quiet and pleasant, and the house is very comfortable. We especially appreciated the labeling of the light switches, a level of detail that shows how the owner cares about customer satisfaction. We saw this from the beginning with excellent communication. Note, too, that the patios are lovely and that the heat and appliances worked well and weren’t complicated to operate. We couldn’t have asked for more - many thanks.

Outstanding property, perfect location and helpful property owner (we locked ourselves out). We are frequent Santa Fe visitors, first stay at this property and hope it is available when we return.

We loved our stay, truly an Oasis!
Easy walk to the Plaza which we really enjoyed one afternoon. After a brief rest at the Casa we had a delightful stroll on the path along the river which is across the street.
Unfortunately the following day there were thunderstorms so we weren’t able to walk to Canyon Road but it’s so close by and hopefully we’ll come back for another stay.
The kitchen has everything needed and we cooked a nice dinner the nite of the Thunderstorms.
The casa is lovely and we loved the history, beautiful decor and Vintage tiles! The yard is very nice but with the weather we weren’t able to spend time there.
Easy carport parking in front so you can leave your car and walk everywhere!

Super charming. Very "Santa Fe." Great location. A short walk or drive to almost everything.

With in walking distance to galleries, shopping, restaurants and historic places. Great location for us to venture to the Albuquerque balloon fiesta 2 days. Loved the private outdoor space.
Overall pleased with our decisions to stay here and recommend to those traveling to Santa Fe.
