About this house rental
This charming, historic home overlooks Arcata. It is a pleasant walk to downtown, where you can enjoy the numerous restaurants, farmers market and festivals on the Plaza. You can spend the day exploring, perusing the shelves of books at the Tin Can Mailman, checking out Sci-Fi night at the Arcata Theater Lounge or going to explore the majestic redwoods and wild coastline. It is just a short 2 block walk to Humboldt State University, where you can watch great shows at the Van Duzer Theater. The Arcata Community forest is only 3 blocks away with miles of hiking trails through the redwoods.
Our home has a spacious rolling lawn for bocce ball, or relaxing outside with a cold drink under the tree in the back yard. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen for cooking delicious meals for two, or the whole family. You will find fun dishes for all occasions in addition to a rice cooker, crock pot, blender and so much more!
There is a luxurious king size bed in one bedroom. The second bedroom has two extra long twin beds for separate sleeping, or if you would prefer to have them together, they make a second king bed. The yard is full fenced for your four legged friends, so come on out and find all the comforts of home and much more in our charming lemon haven!

We really enjoyed our stay in this quaint, clean, and well thought out property! We had everything we needed and slept great. The fully fenced backyard was huge and perfect for those traveling with a pet. We loved the proximity to the college, the community forest, and even downtown. Everything was a short walk away, although an uphill walk back from the plaza. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will return!

We had a great time. Only thing I would advise is that if your taking you dogs, the transients that walk by the house attempt to mess with your dogs. Other than that no complaints. The house was great inside and out. It's super close to the redwoods and other great places. I would definitely recommend 👌

Excellent location for accessing the University, walk around town, drive up the coast to beaches and redwoods and south to Eureka. Wonderfully equipped kitchen. Mary, the manager, very kind and accessible.

We had a great visit and really liked this home. It was spacious, super comfortable, and had lots of extra touches that made our visit even more enjoyable. The home is also in a great location; walking distance to the university and town square. When we had a question about our rental, we were provided with amazing customer service. This is a great home to stay in if you are in the Arcata area.

Traveled to Arcata with grandaughter to visit campus. The house was perfect, well furnished with comfortable beds. Only three blocks from campus and a short walk to forest with many trails to hike. Every appliance you might need was available in kitchen. There were even toys and treats for our dog. Big back yard with pergola and bbq (completely fenced). If granddaughter picks Humboldt for college, this will be our goto place for visits. Highly recommended!

This house was absolutely wonderful, it had a giant backyard for our dogs to play in and a fantastic patio area that we could sit at and watch them play. It was centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go and had everything we needed for our stay, would certainly rent again!

Comfortable, relaxing stay
ohmygoodness, what a perfect place to stay while in Arcata. The house is beautiful, the bed is one of the most comfortable ones we've ever slept in, and the yard was amazing - our dogs loved having a safe space to explore! The deep bathtub was a treat after a day of exploring the Redwoods. We didn't want to leave!

Wonderful home
We loved staying at the Lemon Haven. The home was spotless, the bed super cozy, and the location couldn’t be better. This home had the most well stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen in a vacation home. Our two dogs LOVED the yard, and so did we! Thank you for having us.

Easy Access to HSU

Garden haven for traveling with dogs
Our stay here was lovely. The neighborhood was peaceful and our dog loved running around the fully fenced in yard. The owner has lots of small considerations for dog owners on the property. Nice and close to the Arcata Plaza. Highly recommend Cafe Brio croissants for breakfast and Tomo sushi for dinner.

Perfect for our needs
The Lemon Haven was a wonderful place to stay during some construction on our house. It was spotlessly clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. We were especially pleased to be able to have our pets with us. The location is great - close to town, Humboldt State University, and the forest while being accessible to the freeway. It was a little too rainy during our stay to use the yard and patio, but they are great spaces.
The only thing lacking is space to hang towels in the very cute but small bathroom.

Cute cottage
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It has a decent location for heading into the Redwoods. There is ample hot water to fill the claw foot which was nice.
The beds were a bit soft but comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with items for cooking which I always appreciate since we don’t like eating out for every meal.
They were super dog friendly and had covers for the furniture, dog bowls, and treats.
The only recommendation I would have is to put a fan in the front bedroom. I would stay there again.

Beautiful Cottage
Great little cottage. King bed was very comfortable, nice linens and plenty of towels. Kitchen was fully equipped for anything you want to make. Lots of Natural food stores nearby. A couple blocks from HSU

The house was clean, comfortable, and well kept. The location is close to campus and downtown but out of the immediate downtown area. The neighborhood was very quiet when we were there. Would definitely stay here again

A delightful getaway!
We had a lovely time at The Lemon Haven in Arcata. My family of four found the property to be even better than advertised. We were able to settle in and make ourselves at home within moments of our arrival. A few of our favorite things: The beautiful kitchen view with fresh flowers in the window. The luxurious bathtub. An incredibly well stocked home with just about everything that you could possibly need from cookie sheets to Q-tips. Very comfortable beds. The gorgeous backyard. The fantastic location half-way between the forest and downtown. Most importantly, the warm welcome you gave our dog. That can be difficult to find when traveling and we truly appreciate it. The doggie blankets for the sofas are a great idea! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will look forward to returning in the future!
