Luxurious country house with over 6,500 square feet of air-conditioned indoor spaces and over 3,000 square feet of covered porches, pool gazebo, and multiple sitting areas and outdoor eating tables. Five large bedrooms and a loft with comfortable beds and luxury linens can comfortably sleep 8 persons. Two additional garden suites (additional charge of $250 per night per room) with double queen beds and en-suite bathrooms are also available for a total of 12 guests. We had such a memorable stay at this absolutely stunning property! The house is beyond beautiful, and perfectly stocked with everything you could hope for, from the bathrooms to the kitchen. The large indoor table and multiple garden gathering spaces allowed for many family meals, barbecues and picnics; the pool was a delight , so clean and warm! The grounds, including the fire pit and the working grove we could walk through, a dream come true ! The peacocks were magical! We had singing and storytelling around the outdoor fire pit, a wonderful memory that still makes us smile for years to come ! The owner helped us in every way he could, to insure we had a lovely trip. We had the best reunion thanks to his attention to detail and highly recommend this gem of a property! In fact, we hope to get together there annually, to relive this wonderful experience time and time again!

The house was great for relaxing for our family. Plenty of space to hang out, swim, play and read.
The house could use some sprucing up. The carpets on the stairs were stained and the walls marked up. The upper porch had food left from previous guests on the floor and the deck boards needed to be power washed. There were a number of bulbs out on outside lighting. The kitchen was clean and well stocked, but the ice maker was not accessible. Overall, a nice vacation house for a few days.

Everything was perfect. Very spacious home with plenty of comfortable outdoor spaces, plenty of sleeping arrangements including the 2 garden suites. Can't say enough good things about the place,

Everything was just as it was listed to be. Check in was easy, place was clean and spruced up. Would totally stay here again. Only suggestion would be is to have more towels as we used all the rooms and had to wash towels each night. Nothing to complain about just a suggestion.

We had such an amazing time for our company retreat. We had 17 people and were extremely comfortable. The property was unbelievably beautiful a true oasis. The house was well stocked, and the owner / property manager was fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend this stay.

We had an incredible experience at this beautiful property , it’s an oasis in the city , the house was super comfortable for our group , we had a cookout and enjoyed the pool , at night we sat around the outdoor fire pit , we felt right at home , we didn’t want to leave , hopefully we will be back soon .

We absolutely loved everything about renting this amazing property! We had 89 Grandmother to 1 year old and the house accommodated us perfect! We had our rehearsal dinner at the house and there was everything we needed to put on a wonderful dinner! Thank you Miguel for all your assistance and tours of the property! We had extended family of 15 from all over the country gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving together. This property is amazing and we had a wonderful time! The large lawn area was in constant use for multiple sport games and the pool, bocce court, ping pong table and basketball hoops were such fun! The house and outdoor sitting areas are so large and comfortable that we never felt crowded. We had several minor sink issues that were quickly attended to by the property manager so they did not detract from our experience. I highly recommend this house and property!

We rented this property over a year in advance since it was close to venue where daughter's wedding was at. the owner, Federico, always responded to my questions right away. We were able to have our rehearsal dinner and photography done there. The home is a true paradise with all it's amenities. the property manager, Miguel, gave us the full tour of the home when we checked in and showed us how everything works and showed us how to play bocce ball and explained the grounds and all the fruit trees there are. I love growing trees and that was very exciting. The landscaping was as shown on the pictures. We were worried that the actual property was not as pictured but it was better than expected. the hosts were very accommodating. I can't say enough about this home just that if we had known how beautiful the house and grounds were we would have had the wedding here rather than just rent it because it was close. We had family travel from other states and they felt like tey were in a resort. We are already planning to rent this property in the future, come up with any event just to be here. You really don't need to go anywhere else, it is secluded yet close to markets and stores. Because of that, my suggestion is that you check what there is available at the house before buying anything. We bought so much only to find out it was already here. I just can't say enough regarding this property, but WOW!

Beautiful country setting
Place was clean, beds were comfy and enough space for twelve adults. The country setting with all the flowers, fruit trees, outdoor furniture and beautiful pool was perfect. Convenient location close to highway and close to Everglades & keys. And only 35 to 40mins to Miami. Property as describe & beautiful!!! Everyone enjoyed the stay! Miguel the property manager even took the time to show us how to play Bocci, which several family members enjoyed playing.

Beautiful massive property, perfect for large groups
The Hammockwood was a perfect place for me and my friends and family to have a reunion. We loved the many amenities available: swimming pool, fire pit, fruit trees, peacocks, media center, pool table, and more. The house is close enough to Miami and the Everglades that you can make a trip to either and have a great time.

Perfect Place for an Extended Family Long Weekend
My extended family consists of 13 ranging in age
From 2 to 71. We all enjoyed. The house is great. The pool was often the center of activity.
The children loved getting fresh eggs from the hen house each morning. The middle aged children loved the property (fruit bearing trees). Everyone loved the variety of birds. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and fully equipped. Only one complaint about no TV but that was soon forgotten once it was determined the video room could be used for watching movies.

Breathtaking
We stayed here for our wedding weekend and had our rehearsal dinner here. The entire home is absolutely breathtaking. The backyard is stunning. It comfortably slept our medium sized group. Federico and Miguel were so accommodating before our stay and during our stay they were available by contact for anything we needed. Although everything was so organized and perfect we hardly needed them at all during our stay! I highly recommend this property for a family get together or getting together with a group of friends. The pool is amazing so bring your bathing suit!

Splendid Oasis
We stayed for 5 days and didn't want to leave. The house and property were truly lovely - plenty of space to relax and spend time with family, without feeling like you are on top of each other. It felt like our own private resort and we spent nearly the whole time outside. The porches, hammocks, pool, bocce and fire pit were great for our group, and we all loved roaming the grounds to find fresh fruit, visit the chickens and collect fresh eggs, and try to spot the wandering wildlife (peacocks, geckos, iguanas and more!). Federico and Miguel were perfect hosts. Thank you, we'll be back!

Don't pass up this incredible property!
It's rare that my expectations of a rental are exceeded. Federico (owner) and Miguel (property caretaker) were excellent communicators from the start. Any questions I had after booking were answered within minutes. They made the check-in process easy and gave me suggestions on activities to do in the area. The kids loved the fishing charter and swimming with dolphins (all within a 45 minute drive). The house was very clean and well stocked with everything you'd need to cook your own meals, the high end appliances were an added bonus. We were there with another family (4 adults, 5 kids total) and there was no shortage of space or things to do on the property. We could have fit a 3rd family without issue. The pool was large enough for all of us to be in at the same time, the fire-pit was great for hanging out, the bocce ball court was fun, and the multiple decks were spacious and provided a respite from the sun when wanted. The highlight of the rental is the 6-acres of property that is awesome for exploring, finding and tasting new fruits (the fresh bananas were the best we ever had), getting fresh eggs, and doing easter-egg and scavenger hunts. Federico came out to the property one night and gave our families a tour of the property... It was so neat to learn about the 200+ plant species (he’s a horticulturist) and eat hand-picked fruit fresh from the trees. After the tour he hosted a wine-tasting for the adults (he’s also a sommelier) as the kids watched a movie in the awesome media room. I could go on and on but hopefully you get the gist – it was a great vacation.

Couldn’t be better!!!
Our family spent an extended stay here. It is paradise on earth. Federico is a horticulturist and has created a truly stunning landscape, with fresh fruit available from the tree steps away. The house, unique for the area, is gorgeous, spacious and well appointed. Federico has thought of everything - many beach towels for the pool, s’more ingredients on hand for the fire pit, molcajete to make fresh guacamole, blankets and popcorn buckets for the screening room, I could go on and on. He and his staff are responsive and a pleasure to speak with. You can’t go wrong.

Worth every penny>
The pictures of the home were beautiful but still didn't do justice to this amazing house.
Our group of 12 adults enjoyed the ample spaciousness inside the home and the extraordinary outdoor gathering areas.
Federico always answered texts and emails in a timely manner and Miguel was friendly and helpful with any of our questions.
Great place! We do not hesitate to recommend and would rent it again.

The elegant, comfortable and happy place
This was a marvelous place for a big family celebration. It is even more beautiful and spacious -- rooms, furnishings, the grounds -- than it looks on the website. The grounds are fascinating to stroll. We had walks to identify fruits, to be quiet with the birds, to gossip with a favorite aunt, walks that turned into games. The heated and romantically lit pool and cabana were a big attraction – early swims for those who rise with the sun, later swims for the toddlers with playful adults, rambunctious swims for the young and mid-night swims for the jet-lagged. We had a large group around the fire pit each night. Everything about the estate is designed to bring people together. The verandas are perfectly set up for conversations, for music listening or sleeping in a hammock or rocking the baby. There is plenty of space for all. Tables can be set up for big crowd meals -we had 27 at our peak (not all stayed at the house, of course). The kitchen is perfect for many people to be helping themselves to snacks or getting everything together for the grill. It works for the caterer, as well. And these are just the highlights. We had a wine tasting, a vegan Caribbean cooking class, a special celebration with birthday song, used the large video room for family DVDs. Being on the gateway to the Keys meant that small groups made quick dashes to the Everglades, to the shore, to the fruit and spice park, to the Seminole theater. And when questions arose, the estate manager appeared like a magic genie with the solution. Our family and friends have memories for a lifetime. Thank you.

Amazing Family Vacation!
The house and property were absolutely amazing! I knew that there would be fruit trees ahead of time but had no idea so many of them would he bearing fruit when we are arrived. Our kids love going out and grabbing starfruit or oranges off the trees to eat! This house is huge and has plenty of bed space. Our big group didn’t feel crowded at all. We cooked every night and found the kitchen to be a joy to work in. There were plenty of pots and serving dishes and even some basic staples like sugar and spices available for us to use. Federico, the owner, was gracious and quick to answer any questions or needs we had throughout our stay. We would visit or recommend this house in an instant!

This was a beautiful vacation spot for the entire family! There was plenty to do the entire time. From the pool to the fire pit to ping pong, or bocce ball you could do it all right there. I would rent this home again.
A couple minor things to be fixed but nothing that would keep me from staying again.

Hundred-fruit Peacock Paradise Perfect for Mind & Body
A hidden paradise for people after physical and spiritual refreshment! The 6-acre garden creates a perfect secluded environment for relaxation and sunny private activities. The garden is taken care by the generous owner and friendly manager who plant over 500 different fruits there without chemicals so we enjoyed so much pleasant leisure walking around the spacious lawn in Floridian sunshine, picking from trees and tasting natural fruits like loquats, mangoes, guavas, Brazilian cherries, sapodillas....like Adam and Eve! Haha. Such a beautiful garden attracts lots of friendly Southern animals, like the gracious wild peacocks which walked around every evening and various birds with performative tunes almost throughout the day!
The house is airy and sunlit every corner, with spotless bathrooms and pleasing decoration. Not overly luxurious, but definitely homey and tasteful. The master bedroom is large and nice with a big ensuite. It has direct access to the huge terrace open to the nice garden. There are many beds and extra rooms for a big group as many as 20 comfortably. To our surprise the owner just finished two extra suites at the separate cottage in the garden so we could invite a couple of friends to stay closer.
The living room is square and roomy, and there are plenty of utensils to host a large gathering in the kitchen and the huge covered patio well connected with the living room open to the garden is a place where all friends gather, share, enjoy the nature, and forget how fast time passes usually. The pool is great and there are also table tennis table and pool table.... Just everything you need for a wonderful relaxation.
Federico the owner is a righteous and generous man and he is very understanding, towards different culture and living styles, answering our various requests positively. He always finds the beauty in life, and we become good friend after our stay! The manager on site is a friendly hardworking pal who helps timely and never shows himself when he is not called for. We feel very safe and respected when we were there, taken care greatly and enjoyed an unforgettable memory of Florida. Heartfelt thanks to Hammockwood's owner Federico and its manager Miguel. Can't wait till next year to go back!

Hands down the best property we have ever rented!!
My husband and I have rented properties through VRBO, homeaway and just about any other rental property website there is all over the world. This property is by far the best place we've ever stayed at! Not only is the house beautiful, cozy, and equipped with everything you could ever need, the owner and property manager are an absolute delight to work with. My family stayed here for a long weekend and we literally enjoyed every minute! If you are looking for a home away from it all, spend quality time with your loved ones, sit by a beautiful pool all day, BBQ, play games outside and sit by a fire pit at night, this is the home for you!
