About this house rental

This recently restored light-filled, breezy 1909 beach house is located in historic Neptune Park. The spacious home, which has been in the same family for 50 years, features a wide wrap-around porch overlooking Long Island Sound. Enjoy the charm of antique furniture and vintage art. Views extend to Fishers Island and include New London's Ledge Lighthouse and frequent ferries plying the harbor.

The house can accommodate a maximum of six people, including children.

The first floor boasts a large living room, a formal dining room, well-equipped eat-in kitchen, and a half bath. The ample porch is set up as an outdoor living room, with a glider, rocker, armchairs and picnic table.

On the second floor, you'll find a large bedroom with a Queen bed, a 2nd bedroom with Queen bed, a 3rd bedroom with 2 twin beds, a TV room, and a full bath.

The ground floor features a enclosed bath house for showering after a swim, full-size washer and dryer, beach chairs, gas grill as well as a Weber charcoal grill.

The house is naturally cool and breezy. It does not have central air. However, AC window units are available for the second floor rooms. Each bedroom has a standing fan and bedroom 1 additionally has a ceiling fan.

Across the street, you'll find a sea walk that connects a series of private beaches punctuated by picturesque rocky outcrops and jetties.

Ocean Beach Park, one of New England's premier destinations, lies just down the block. It's renowned for its broad expanse of fine white sand along a half-mile boardwalk.

Our first trip to the New England area was truly memorable, especially because we found the perfect beachside home. Brian's family home exceeded our expectations, offering not only stunning sound views but also a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The nostalgic details throughout the house gave us a deep sense of comfort and togetherness. The family's pride is evident in the extensive library and the artwork showcasing New London's rich history. Although we didn't meet anyone in person, the well-stocked home made us feel genuinely cared for. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

This was the perfect place for us to stay in New London and get our fill of beach while visiting relatives. The property is part of an historic neighborhood, and all the original homes are over 100, so don't expect modern perfection. This is an altogether different type of perfection. When we arrived, there were fresh hydrangeas in vases throughout the first floor to welcome us. The gardens are lovely (and the monarchs seemed to agree). Our family has strong connections to the area, so we loved all the historical pictures and books worked into the decor. The huge porch and numerous windows provide a constant sea breeze and we never even noticed that we were largely without AC in mid-July. The window AC in the bedrooms was plenty to guarantee comfortable sleeping. We ranged in age from 25 to 92 and all were more than happy with the property and hoping we'll have a chance to return. If you appreciate a property with some history and quirks and you love quiet beach access, sea breezes, and a lovely unpretentious place to relax you'll love this.

The house was great! So cute, with great water views . Online photo’s don’t do it justice. The outdoor porch was a great place to hang out. The beds were super comfy. House was also super clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved the house, exactly as pictured with somehow an even better view/location than expected. The house was charming, historic, clean, comfortable and well-stocked. We had no issue making a few meals and had plenty of options from serve-ware to glassware. The newly finished porch was absolute perfection (our group spent most of our time out there) and falling asleep to the sounds of crashing waves is unmatched. Beach couldn’t be closer and the few neighbors we met were super friendly. Brian was super communicative before and during our stay and left easy check in/check out instructions. This is the exact type of home I dream of owning some day! Highly recommend a stay here

This older house has a lot of character, and was comfortable for our family of four in town for a relative's wedding. It was lovely waking up to see the sunrise over the water through the bedroom windows, and walking just across the street down to the water to hear the waves. Brian keeps the house well stocked, and everything was clean and tidy! We thought the weather would be cold, but instead it was unexpectedly warm -- open windows and the floor fans in the house kept it comfortable inside. It was an enjoyable stay!

This charming house was a typical New England nautical, vintage house in the beautiful neighborhood of Neptune Park. The location was perfect. The host was an excellent communicator and very helpful. The house is well stocked. We plan to return next year.

The house is a 4 minute walk to a private sand beach, unless you meet up with a neighbor and then it could take an hour! Very friendly place. House Clean. Efficient. Wonderful art. Kitchen has everything you’d want. Skewers for kabob? Yep. Japanese tea set? Yep. Don’t bother to bring beach chairs: there are enough in the downstairs room with the shower. Really. Don’t bother to bring anything but your bathing suit, floatie toys and sandals. There are interesting books, including local history. There was only one thing we didn’t like. All the noisy landscaping machines. Very loud. But we are overly sensitive to loud machines. When we saw them coming we’d take the dog for a walk. Oh, the neighborhood is very dog friendly. The house has a homey vibe and we could have stayed months….
