My family and I (me, my husband, and our eight-year-old daughter) recently stayed at this delightful cottage for our beach getaway. We had a magnificent time, and everything we experienced lived up to the Vrbo description and stellar reviews.
The decor is adorable and peaceful, and having a full kitchen, beach amenities, and a washer/dryer made a huge difference in our stay.
Bill and Dorothy are excellent hosts, and I highly recommend this beach cottage to anyone contemplating a summertime getaway.

This is a lovely property with a great location. Everything in the house was labeled. For the beach, towels, umbrella, and wagon were available (we could not find beach chairs that another reviewer mentioned). We would stay again if in the area.

The house was nice. Great location. The home owner requested that we use the VRBO app to contact instead of via text, which was an inconvenience as we didn't have the app and didn't want to go through the hassle of downloading it while on the trip as we are not very tech savy. Overhead lights/fan in the back bedroom didn't work, was weird that there wasn't curtains on all the windows, would have been nice to have one of the many appliance clocks set to the right time. The use of the beach towels, umbrellas, beach cart, was of great help. Overall it was a great experience and having access for free to the oceanside park was awesome.

I was very impressed with this property! I’ve rented numerous homes/condos and this at the top of my list of favorites. In fact we’re already talking about coming back next summer. The beds we’re comfortable, bedding, towels, kitchen, etc. were very well stocked. You can tell the owners care about you!
The only thing I regret is not being able to stay longer. Great job William and Dorothy. You truly are premier hosts!

The house is even more charming than what you see in the pictures. The beachy decor is so comfy. There's plenty of room to stretch out. The kitchen is roomy and stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed the grill. I enjoyed morning yoga on the deck. We were pleasantly surprised by all the beach towels, umbrella, chairs -- everything we needed for a perfect beach day. The beaches nearby are gems! Great stay! Great hosts!

We had a perfect mini getaway for 4/5 days and our kids had a blast. The house was perfect for our needs. The pictures were identical to the listing and the decor was cute and fit the vibe of the house. I loved how easy it was to find anything you needed with the labels, directions and loved the recommendations in the welcome binder. The backyard and back deck were perfect for my little ones (4 and 1 year old) The location was also ideal for a quick drive to Ocean Beach Park. I picked this area for that reason, but to also be close to Niantic & Mystic. Perfect location for all three of those areas!
The only con I had which is more because of us having an adventurous soon to be 2 year old lol is I wish the main door had a latch or deadbolt to keep it locked from the inside. Once my child figured out she could open the main door from the inside with ease, that’s all she kept trying to do. Without a screen door and/or way to keep it locked from the inside, not to mention the road is semi busy, that little extra safety feature would’ve been a blessing! Thanks for opening your doors to us and we would definitely love to visit again.

My family and I enjoyed staying at this cottage very much! The neighborhood is very nice and the house has all of the comforts of home. The pictures of the house online are very accurate...I've stayed at a few places where the pictures make the house look larger than it is. This house is very roomy for a family of 4 or 5. As mentioned in other reviews they provide towels, beach cart, chairs, and umbrellas, which is extremely helpful in packing. I loved that I didn't have to bring all of those items with me and crowd the car. Bill and Dorothy respond quickly to any questions. I would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area. Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house had everything we needed. We brought stuff that we didn’t even need to unpack because the house was so well stocked. We really appreciated the labels everywhere, too! The beach pass was great, as well as all the beach supplies. We used the umbrella, chairs, beach towels and wagon to transport all. We spent 4 nights in this cute little house. Our kids are 5 and 11. We enjoyed the proximity to Ocean Beach park and the included beach pass was a real nice add on to our stay. The house was fully stocked with all we needed to enjoy our week. The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed eating on the back deck in the evening. Check out Waterford Town Beach while you're there, its a beautiful area. We hope to come back another time Bill and Dorothy. Thank you for sharing your home.

The house was clean and neighborhood was quiet. The kitchen had every cooking utensil, dishes, pans, etc that we could ever need. The convenience to the beach was perfect especially when our two little grandchildren (4 and 5) joined us for 2 days. It was a perfect vacation!!

When we first entered this property, we knew we made a great choice! This house is close to Mystic, Niantic and Old Saybrook. After a few days, our daughter, son-in-law and their two young boys joined us for 3 nights. Restaurants they recommended were great. We would recommend this Connecticut destination!

This is the perfect beach cottage get away. There was plenty of space for my family. We didn’t have a chance to cook but the kitchen was beautiful and the entire property was exactly as pictured. Even, The lawn and flowers on the exterior were very well cared for. We went to ocean beach, as the owners provide a free pass. We had a good time but I might try the other beach if you are looking for something less crowded. We were also pleasantly surprised by the close proximity to mystic. We were happy with our stay and would recommend this property !

There is ac and remote ceiling fans in every room. (VERY COMFORTABLE!)

Beach items- beach cart, plenty of towels, lots of chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, and a really nice cooler.
I think I’ve covered most amenities. I know it’s a long list, but that is exactly why I wanted the list in my review. It’s rare that a vacation rental is so well appointed.
This place is a gem! Impeccably decorated, extremely clean, walking distance to beaches, ( FREE Ocean Park beach parking pass included), close proximity to many attractions. We did the lighthouse ferry tour in New London.
Communication with the hosts was a breeze.
We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend this charming getaway home.

We had an amazing time at Dorothy and Bill’s property. The location was perfect for exploring the greater Mystic area with our two and three-year-old children. We had a beautiful days at both Ocean Beach and Waterford beach. I grew up in central CT (but now live in New Jersey) and never even knew either of these beaches existed. The house itself is pristine and FULLY stocked. We especially appreciated all the beach gear, as car space is certainly at a premium when packing for a vacation with two little ones! Having a washer and dryer was also super convenient for minimizing the laundry we have to do at home. Truly, this house had everything we needed: close access for sand and surf lovers (my daughter and I) but plenty of other things to do in the area for those who want to do more than just the beach (like my son and husband). We are already talking about coming back again next year! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My daughter, granddaughter and I stayed at this house for a week and it was perfect. My granddaughter is 3 and had a blast at both of the beaches. We found many different places to go out for dinner most recommended by our hosts and all were great. The home is bright, very clean and decorated so cute with beach appropriate decorations. It was perfect for the 3 of us. The hosts provided everything you need for the beach which made packing a lot easier, the hosts thought of everything. The house was immaculate. The neighborhood was in a great location; close enough to beach where it wasn't a hassle, but far enough away to avoid any noise/traffic. Everything was clean and well-labelled so finding what we needed was a breeze. Plenty of towels for both in the house and at the beach, so no need to bring any of your own. We cooked a lot while we were there, and it was hands down the BEST kitchen I've used at a rental.

It met all my expectations. It was a very lovely and cozy place and the location was very quiet, which I really loved alot. It was the perfect place for my family and I to create memories. Wonderful place to stay
This house was so charming & spacious, and the hosts were very attentive. It is set in a friendly neighborhood. There is a large deck, and a nice yard and everything you need to make your stay run smoothly. There are nice restaurants minutes away, and the town beach was a 3 min drive, the hosts provide a beach cart, towels, and a cooler which made it that much more convenient. Overall, This was probably the most stress free vacation we’ve had so far.
