About this house rental
Welcome to Lakeside Manor! This 30+ acre property is truly a step back in time! A long tree lined driveway leads to the 5,500 sq. ft. stone 1960's cape cod house. Upon arrival, there really is no need to leave, although there are fun things nearby to also enjoy! The most impressive feature of this vacation home is the 6 acre private lake. Guests will see the lake when entering the driveway but it also wraps around the back of the house leaving plenty to be discovered and explored throughout your stay. Another very unique aspect to this property is the basement which is over 1,500 sq ft. The basement offers a second kitchen with bar area, a large walkout patio area, large stone fireplace and a pool table. The most unique area in the house is the full sized, one lane, old fashioned bowling alley. Bring a personal pin setter along because this bowling alley is "old school" but works perfectly for all day fun no matter the weather outside! Lakeside Manor offers 7 bedrooms with beds for over 20 and 5 full bathrooms. The 30 acres are a combination of green grass, the lake, a creek that runs though a wooded ravine, a very small stream (great for small children) and farm land. There is a balcony, covered porch, and two patios all with great views of the water and the Blue Mountains a few miles away. The old dock has been restored which is perfect for all things lake related. There are many fish in the lake! Bring fishing rods and guests will be sure to have a blast catching bass, perch, crappies, and blue gills a plenty. (Catch and Release only, we want to make sure there are plenty of fish for everyone to catch) The lake has a steady decline from the bank and gradually deepens to around 20 ft in the middle. We have a few boats/kayaks for guests to use during their stay. Feel free to bring your own boats as well, whether they are for our small lake or for Blue Marsh Lake just minutes down the road. (Bring motorboats and jet skis for Blue Marsh Lake, not for use here).
The fall is also a special season at Lakeside Manor. The cooler weather in the fall and coloring leaves invite our guests to venture outdoors! Enjoy a nice hike around the lake or on the trail along the creek at the bottom of the ravine. Fishing and boating are as good as ever and also great pastimes during the fall months. And of course nothing can quite compare to a crackling camp fire as another brisk day comes to an end.
The winter season brings another opportunity for our guests to get away from it all and cozy up with family and friends in our 5,500 sq ft home. The spacious bedrooms and living area offer many options for group games and activities. Of course if there is snow on the ground, younger guests will love the hills for sledding and the numerous acres to explore and build snow forts. If it is a cold winter the 6 acre lake will completely freeze over! Too cold to go outside? Stay indoors and enjoy the pool table, large flat screen TV with many channels, and the one lane regulation size bowling alley! Also there are quite a few attractions in the area that can be visited year round including the largest Cabelas in the world, The Yuengling Brewing Co (the oldest brewery in the nation), and Christmas Village (where people come from all over to see their lights and decorations) and much more!

This place was a very peaceful place. I thank the owners for sharing their wonderful property. My grandson said it was his best vacation yet. It was large enough for someone like my mom who is in a wheel chair to move around. We made memories on balcony my daughter painting my moms nails, We ate smores around the fire pit. I hope that the owners will allow us to come back and visit again.

My adult kids and several grandkids (ages 1-6) had an awesome stay at this spectacular property. The house is huge, with too many amenities to list, a beautiful combination of old world elegance and modern conveniences. We enjoyed being on the lake (kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, etc.) and wandering the pretty trails. Family meals were a pleasure to prepare in the contemporary kitchen. One of our family members is a professional chef and he raved about it. We had fun playing basketball, pool, ping pong and the very cool bowling alley could not be beat! The house was immaculate, drenched in natural light with comfortable beds, updated bathrooms and plenty of space. Thank you, Jesse for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back!

Everyone in our party loved this booking. The house and grounds were so beautiful and exactly as shown. Walking the grounds, trails, and lake was relaxing and provided a park like experience. The lake was beautiful and fun to paddle around. We spent tons of time fishing, catching and releasing. It was just about perfect.
The house had so many toys and thoughtful additions for the kids inside and out. We sat around the fire pit each night and didn’t end up using the TV at all.
My son easily maneuvered around the first floor in his power wheelchair. Ramps were provided to ensure he could use at least two of the entrances. Having to go outside and drive around to the basement entrance to the game room wasn’t a problem. The slope was gentle and not a problem for his chair. The sliders are very wide and that threshold doesn’t require a ramp. Had it been raining I think we would have been more impacted by the lack of a working elevator. We had a great time bowling!

Beautiful, serene property that is a perfect vacation spot for the fall. We enjoy hikes throughout the property and sitting around the fire pit for hours just being together. The lake also offers hours of boating and fishing activities or just relaxing on the beach. There are so many places in this home to gather as a group or find a quiet place to read a book or enjoy the scenery. The owners are a pleasure to interact with and their home is so warm and welcoming.

Jesse could not have been more considerate. I use a wheelchair, and he supplied ramps, grab bars and a shower chair. He even took photos of the entrances so I could judge their dimensions. Many properties on VRBO are described as wheelchair accessible but aren't. This one is.
The pics of the lake and grounds don't do them justice; the property is gorgeous. So is the interior of the house. It is hard to find anything to complain about. All I can come up with is, the sound of traffic can be heard at times while outdoors. But we had a great time, and I highly recommend this listing.

The house was great! It accommodated our large family of 8 adults and 7 children. The kitchen was well equipped and we were all able to dine together around the long table for 20. The grounds were beautiful and there was plenty of space for the kids to explore, hike, swim, kayak and play. The basement was amazing with the bowling alley, ping pong, pool table and games. Evenings were spent around the fire pit making s’mores and visiting.

This is an amazing place! The house was beautiful and spacious and extremely well- equipped for large groups. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, small appliances, cookware, utensils, spices and other staples. The extra long dining table was wonderful! All 15 of us could eat together. The downstairs area with bowling alley, pool table and ping pong table was very popular with our grandchildren.
The lake and all the provided kayaks, canoe,Paddle boards and life jackets was great fun for all.

There were 9 adult family members and 7 children ranging from ages 16-3 months old. The lake was the focus of activity- over 50 fish were caught and released, the sandy beach was perfect for swimming and floating, and the canoe, paddle boards, and kayaks (and many life vests) provided hours of enjoyment. The one television set was never used during the 5 days because there was so much to do. Planning on returning in two years.

What a beautiful property! Truly a gem. We had a group of 9 adults and 8 children of various ages and our stay couldn’t have been better. The kids were never bored (even with only 1 TV, which I appreciated) and the adults had plenty of space to relax. The lake was the highlight for sure… especially with the kayaks, rowboat, and paddle boards provided. There are 5 snow geese that live on the property that I enjoyed watching… they are so lucky to have such a nice home. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and various tools, so it was perfect for large family meals. We appreciated the paper products that the owners provided (paper towels, toilet paper), as well as the bath towels and hand soap. All the beds were comfortable, especially in the primary suite! The location is perfect as it’s far enough away from everything, but close enough for trips as needed. We ventured to Hershey and Sight & Sound, and neither felt like a long trek. Overall, I would highly recommend Lakeside Manor… the owners clearly care about the place and want to ensure a lovely stay. I have a feeling we’ll be back!

This house and property is AMAZING... Soooo much to do inside and outside from hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, firepit, bowling, ping-pong, billiards, and board games... We had a rain day but never got bored... Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. Lots of counter space which made meals for our party of 14 super easy and between the table and bar everyone could eat together too... 3 total refrigerators and with multiple families this was very useful.. A starter amount of hand soap and toliet paper was provided, which was nice.. The lake is A M A Z I N G..... So entertaining... They have multiple kayaks, kids kayaks, canoes, paddlesboads and lifejackets this was awesome... Communication with the owners from booking, arrival then check out was great..... They provided check in info a few days before but then also made sure we got in ok and if we had any questions. At check out even wished us safe tavels home. I truely can't say enough good things about this property... We definitely found a hidden diamond and look forward to many more trips in the future.... THANK YOU for sharing your property with us.

Our children are now spread out over Western NY (where we live), Wake Forest, Boston, and DC - this is the perfect location for us all to meet and enjoy time together. Absolutely PERFECT property for a large family gathering. Kitchen was super well stocked. Large Jennair stove/oven, two dishwashers, three refrigerators; indoor games, outdoor activities, LAKE; fire pit! So many patios and quiet sitting places. This place was PERFECT for a large family gathering. We used every inch! Jesse was super responsive when I had questions. We had a phenomenal time facilitated by this house. Love it! We have stayed at Lakeside Manor since 2015 - 7 times total - and every year it does not disappoint. The owners have made improvements each and every year which we have enjoyed seeing. The property - including the overall beautifully maintained outdoor space... lake, walking trails, etc. are a perfect get-away from our hectic daily lives. From reading a book in the hammock, spending time cooking, laughing, and eating with friends in the well equipped kitchen, to walking the spacious property the private, quiet location has been an ideal setting and location for our girls getaway (~15 40+ aged women). Enough rooms for privacy and great gathering space for social / community time. As mostly Philadelphia area residents, we previously would look for properties in the Poconos, and since we found Lakeside Manor we keep coming back. If you're lucky enough to book the property, you will not be disappointed.

Great host. Great property, house, and accomodations.
The Lake Manor comfortably accomodated 20 guests, which consisted of 4 couples and several singles.
Bedrooms:
The bedrooms were clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable.
Kitchen:
A great space that was the central hub of our gathering. The kitchen contains a great oven, microwave, (2) dishwashers, large refrigerator, and (2) sinks. Just great! Worth mentioning that there are (3) refrigerators total in the manor.
Kitchen also has a few crockpots, (2) coffee makers, toaster, etc. - all of the things you would need.
I suggest that your group brings paper products (if you want). We needed to supply some paper towels, paper plates/bowls, etc., We did use the glassware provided for our meals and drinks. Just did the dishes as we went - a policy we told everyone to abide by.
The Downstairs Recreation Room - WOW!
An awesome bar, huge space, lots of seating, the bowling lane, TV, etc. - just a great place to hang out. You'll love it.
The Bathrooms:
Lots of them - and easily accomodated our (20) guests. Not a problem. Plenty of showers, towels, etc. - also had toilet paper available, so we didn't have to bring that.
The Outside Areas!
So many amazing things to see and do. We had some hikers and joggers - they loved running around the lake and nearby areas. I brought a drone and enjoyed flying it around. If the weather would have been just a little nicer, we would have used the kayaks. We loved the house and property so much that we are planning to rent the Lake Manor for both our Summer and Winter retreats each year.
I'm trying to think of anything 'negative' to share and honestly, I'm struggling. Parking was fine/adequate for the 10+ cars we had. Laundry room and washer/dryer were super convenient. The only (minor) negative thing that comes to mind is... watch where you step, there was some goosepoop by the lake AND there is only ONE television in the entire house. Some of you will love that and appreciate it. My group was a bunch of gaming and tech nerds. Luckily, as a proud tech nerd, I brought my HD projector and we were able to project onto the spacious white wall in the dining room. We played games, watched movies, etc. on that screen while other people watched the football games downstairs.
That's it. Literally nothing else to share.

The house and property were everything we could have hoped for. The hosts were readily available to answer any questions we had. We had plans to see some of the points of interest in the area but there was so much to do at the house we never left! The games in the basement were a great source of entertainment! There was plenty of wood for the fire pit, which we enjoyed immensely. There was more than enough room for everyone.
A great time was had by all and we hope to try and make this a yearly trip.

The house was easily able to accommodate the 17 adults and two children in our family. The kitchen, living room, dining room area is the most amazing part of the house. Unless you consider the bowling alley, ping pong, and pool table. The basement play area was perfect as we watched the World Cup, while others played ping-pong. The lake and surrounding property, trails, and hidden play areas, are a beautiful addition to the indoor space. Although we arrived in winter, we were able to take a brief kayaking tour of the lake.
The kitchen is extremely well stocked. There were not enough forks for the whole family, and the drinking glasses were plastic. But those minor details did not put a dent in our enjoyment of the space.
On the morning that we left, there was an intense odor outdoors that would have been very unpleasant to experience during a walk. Luckily, this was not a problem during our stay. We searched the Internet for the source, but have no real idea what that was!
There were plenty of towels and the beds were very comfortable. We apparently had not read closely enough to notice that the house did not come with shampoo or bath soap, so just be sure to bring your own.
This location does not offer much in the area of entertainment within walking distance (there is a pizza parlor), but we never felt we needed anything more than playing in the house or exploring the grounds.

We had a wonderful time at Lakeside manor for Fall break! The kids spent hours both fishing in the lake and on the boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. There was plenty of space for a large group in the kitchen and dining area. We all enjoyed the fire pit out back each night and all of the fresh cut fire wood was definitely a plus. The extra fridge in the mud room was definitely a plus too! We would 100% return to this property - great for summer and the fall.

We stayed for a week and the property was fabulous, we had lots of family in town for a wedding and we had a blast on the property! No need to leave, between the lake with canoes/kayaks/paddle boards and the ping pong /pool table and bowling alley. Plenty of space, bedrooms and bathrooms for a family gathering or multiple family vacation. Kitchen, fully stocked with pots pans and utensils, a large two oven gas stove, two dishwashers, three large frigerators throughout home and a large dining table. We spent every night out at the fire pit roasting marshmallows and enjoying some great family time!

This house was so beautiful and peaceful. It was the perfect place for our friends to relax. We had a small issue with the fire alarm being set off and the house manager was very understanding and helped us rectify the problem. All in all, we had a fantastic stay!

From the moment I set eyes on this listing, I fell in love with its charm and all it has to offer.
The owners are fabulous folks to work with and driven to provide the very best quality and service. Any minor snag was handled in a very courteous, efficient and kind manner and seemingly in the blink of an eye. Both home and outdoor spaces are meticulously clean, comfortable and inviting. Every thought is given to detail in making your stay relaxing, with bountiful seating, dishes, pots, utensils, 2 kid travel high chairs, towels, board games, you name it- all readily available.
An extremely child-friendly environment both in and out doors. We had rain off and on, yet still fell hopelessly in love with all the stunning views, trails, fishing, boating, bowling and the more than ample space in and out doors to relax, roam, read, dine, or gather to share conversations. Never a question of needing a thing. The owners should pride themselves on their great concern for their guests’ comfort and enjoyment. For the 20 of us -ages 1-71 -it proved to be an extraordinarily delightful weekend.

This was our second stay at this beautiful house. I didn’t think it could get better than the first, but the changes they made to the beach area were fantastic! This year, we were in a bit of a drought so the water level of the lake was low but it didn’t effect any of the water activities. The kids loved the addition of the kid size kayaks. They were constantly switching and taking turns. They have everything you need for all the activities! Life jackets in all sizes, sand toys, and chairs. They have taken the time, and really thought about all the little details so you don’t need to worry about anything! This house is a true gem and I hope your family enjoys it as much as we have!

This was our third time staying at this home. I loved how they redid the beach area. We had four families and a total of 13 kids. We loved the lake but there was this type of algae in the lake that we didn’t see on our other visits. We think it had to do with the geese. They had more kayaks and paddle boards so that was a plus!! We did have an issue with the air conditioning but Jesse was able to have it fixed the next day. We are all booked for next year. This is the trip all our families look forward to. I would suggest having a floating dock in the middle of the lake. We are trying to see if we can bring one with us next year. Overall, it was another successful vacation and I’m counting down the days for next year!

We had multiple generations (ages 81-1) staying in the home for our Family Reunion. Everyone had enough space to stay close or have their alone time. The property was fully stocked with enough pots/pans, towels, games, etc. All we needed to bring was food. The home is close enough to stores and far enough off the road that you feel like you are on an island all alone. We all enjoyed the lake and having the sand toys, kayaks, canoes, etc. When leaving everyone wanted to know if we were coming back next year! :) Homeowner was responsive to emails and texts. Thank you for making our First Family Reunion a BLAST!!!

Our group of 16 (five families with kids) treasured our time here. There was truly something for everyone - all ages had a blast! We made good use of the spacious kitchen, double refrigerators!, and incredible dining table that seated us all + more! The picturesque setting (the lake is breathtaking) and so are the verdant grounds. We were impressed by how well manicured the landscaping was! Everyone had fun making use of the kayaks / paddleboards and beach area. We set up our camera/tripod to take family portraits with the beautiful backdrops. The firepit was a fan favorite too. We appreciated that there was plenty of firewood available for us - just take the wheelbarrow ;). Oh, and how our kids adored the basement. Whether it was pretend play with the play kitchen, playing pool, bowling or mini bowling, or just using the space for a fun round of hide and seek, it was a fun spot for the kids to hang out in! We would totally stay here again! Highly recommend!

Family Vacation
Exactly as described. Feels even bigger in person than the pictures. So much room to spread out and have family dinners, play games, walk the trails, relax on the lake. Plenty of kayaks , life vests, firewood, beach chairs. Very well stocked house, really clean and bright, gorgeous views from every room. Our family of 16 (ages 6-80) was very happy and comfortable there. Thank you for a relaxing vacation!

Better than we imagined!!
A 3-generation group of us (ages 9 and up) had an absolutely wonderful time at this incredible property. While we had initially planned to go to some nearby parks and trails, there really was no need--the property itself has it all! The kids and adults loved exploring the trails around the lake (and finding fun surprises along the way), kayaking and swimming in the lake (which had the perfect temperature), playing wiffle ball in the "Field of Dreams"-like yard, bowling in the basement, playing hide and seek in the spacious house, etc. We enjoyed making meals in the well-stocked kitchen with plenty of space to prepare, and a great setup to eat (we fit 15 teens/adults with room to spare at the dining table, and had the 7 kids eat at the outdoor table just outside). Everything was well-kept and clearly cared for. The one excursion we took was to Way-Har Farms for ice cream and fresh-baked bread, which we'd definitely recommend. Many thanks to Jesse and Melody for sharing this wonderful place, and we hope to return again!
