About this house rental

Experience the Timeless Elegance of Nile Lodge in Galway

Welcome to Nile Lodge, the most exclusive private rental house in the City of Galway. Built in 1807, this landmark Georgian residence offers an exceptionally high standard of elegant and spacious accommodation in one of the city's most historic and imposing homes.

Nile Lodge is exquisitely furnished with beautiful antiques and fine décor, featuring vaulted ceilings and elegant chandeliers. Set on over an acre of mature, landscaped gardens, this outstanding property provides ample parking and a serene retreat. The high-walled private garden, lawn, and atmospheric patio area make Nile Lodge a particularly desirable rental.
The house comfortably accommodates six guests, with two additional bedrooms available for rent on the lower garden level, exclusively for those booking the entire house. Each bedroom is thoughtfully decorated, ensuring a restful stay.

The house is quite traditional in layout with a stunning entrance hall and bright, spacious rooms with large windows.
The drawing room and dining room are on opposite sides of the hall and both have a wonderful formality and elegance, while still being comfortable and cosy. Both rooms are ideal for entertaining on a fairly grand scale. The vaulted ceilings have beautiful plasterwork and marble fireplaces, exquisite hand cut chandeliers, beautiful Irish carpets and superior quality antique furniture all add to the grandeur of Nile Lodge.

There is a luxurious living room at the end of the entrance hall which also has a high vaulted ceiling, magnificent antique furniture and large open fire making it perfect for relaxed, intimate conversation. The living room opens onto a period conservatory which, in turn, opens onto a furnished Italianate patio, the perfect place for summer evening barbecues, relaxing with a glass of wine.

Not only was the location, perfect for attending evens like Trad on the Prom down on the water, it was only a 15 minute walk into town where Quay street fun lured us to music dancing and laughing. . We loved staying at Niles Lodge! It’s a beautiful historic home that has positive energy. The gas station across the street had all kinds of food, ATM, newspapers and very friendly people.i would go back in a heartbeat! We also attended the Galway races and won on race 3!!! Took a taxi up to the Ashford castle and went on a falcon walk with halls! Very, very special and goosebumps getting a Guinness at Quiet Man Pub!

This magnificent home is set on a acre+ of beautifully manicured lawns and gardens. It has all the peacefulness and quietude of a country home, yet it is located in the heart of Galway. It is a short walk to endless restaurants, shops, attractions and Galway Bay. Never have we stayed in a more perfectly situated home. The house itself is lovely with spacious rooms, wonderful king-size beds, working fireplaces, a well-equipped kitchen and all the comforts of home. There were fresh flowers in nearly every room and the housekeepers kept us well-stocked with fresh towels and linens. Our host, Maire, was simply beyond compare. In all of our many, many years of renting houses in the US and abroad, we have never had a host who was more attentive, more helpful or more thoughtful. And what lovely person she is. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable experience for youself, your family or a group of friends in Galway, this is your place.

Wonderfully charming property. Clean very comfortable beds, beautiful antique furniture, beyond fully appointed kitchen. The house was fun to come home to after a busy day. The children loved the secret gardens. Great location. Marie, the owner, was a fantastic host.

We brought our teenage children back to Galway for Christmas. The journey from Australia is always long but getting easier as they grow older. The house is magnificent and the hospitality even better. Maire is generous in more ways than one. Her furnishings are the best. Fabulous antiques, well placed and functional. Beautiful sofas, king size beds, crystal champagne glasses and fabulous lamps to illuminate it all. Her bed linen is of the highest quality and plentiful. The location of the house is perfect for a 10 minute stroll into town or 5 minutes to Salthill and the Prom. We will definitely book this house when next in Galway and recommend you do the same. You will not be disappointed.
