About this cabin rental

Pristine Cabin Site on Oswegatchie River,

Relax and enjoy yourself sitting on the porches or the large deck overlooking the pristine 'Oswegatchie River'. The deck has been furnished with a dining table for four along with deep seated sofas and propane fire pit. Go swimming, rock hopping, and have a cool beverage while soaking in the many pools in the Oswegatchie River. The River is 150' wide and has a rocky bottom with area of gentle rapids, rock outcrops, and pools. Upstream 1/4 mile is an area where you can launch a canoe easily and have many miles of canoeing and kayaking on the River.
Bring your boat and launch it at a state boat launch three miles away at the very scenic Lake Bonaparte. Enjoy a romantic evening at the outdoor fire pits or, on cooler nights, stoke up the glass-front wood stove. Enjoy a romantic walk through the woods or simply sit by the river’s edge.
The cabin is absolutely charming, finished with all knotty pine inside, featuring a loft area, open living and kitchen area. Half round log staircase and steps lead you to the loft. Round log railings and post throughout cabin and porch areas add to the rustic charm. There is a double bed in the lower bedroom, one twin and one double bed in the loft. Guests provide their own linens, pillows and towels. Enjoy the large (3 Season)outdoor shower that overlooks the river. For those not as adventurous and during the winter months the cabin has a fully functioning traditional bathroom with shower. The cabin is equipped with a backup, auto start propane generator. Satellite TV, and WIFI are on site. A Ring camera and motion light is installed at the front of the cabin.
The cabin site is located on a small point providing 180 degree view of the River. Majestic white pines along the river bank add to the beauty of this site. The cabin is accessed by a private, gated road shared by four other camp owners. Cabin site is very private. There is an easy walk approach to the river shoreline. Swimming areas with flat rock ledge bottom. The fire pit and landscaped area on the waterfront is appealing and convenient.
Access to Snowmobile Trail Head Parking Route S-84 access is only 3 miles from the cabin. This is located at the Harrisville Rod and Gun Club on the Middle Branch Road. There is huge parking area for trailers, a gas pump for sleds, and the Harrisville Rod and Gun Club for drinks and food. These trails are located on the Northern part of the great Lewis County trail system and connects to all trails to the south and toward Brantingham, Stillwater and Old Forge if you want to travel far. The Long Pond Snowmobile Club maintains and grooms these northern trails.
Enjoy dining and shopping at the home style restaurants and shops located in the Harrisville area better known as the 'Gateway to the Adirondacks'. There are large tracts of state land nearby for hiking and backwoods canoeing enthusiasts. An information packet is available to show the great hiking areas within 40 miles of cabin. Photos, maps and descriptions of the trails, locations of State Forests will be available. Also, ask us about some secret gems of hikes to nearby waterfalls. Canoeing and kayaking info packet will also be available.
The cabin and site is very unique and one of a kind. The sound of the river is always present. The site really is a breathtaking gem and once you stay here, we know you'll want to come again.

The "Adirondacks"
The Adirondack Park covers some 6.1 million acres, a land area roughly the size of Vermont and greater than the National Parks of Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Glacier and Great Smoky Mountains combined. The Adirondack Park is a publicly protected area encompassing much of the northeastern portion of Upstate New York. It is the largest state protected area in the contiguous United States, and the largest National Historic Landmark.
Now open all year round for four season enjoyment.

As the owners we would like to welcome previous guests and newcomers alike. Our dream has come true as owners of this pristine property and cabin. Our search took us from Maine to North Carolina over many years, we could not be more pleased to have found this fantastic location. The cabin is furnished with items made by local artisans and the Amish in Pennsylvania which enhances the experience and coziness. The Painter Family invites you to enjoy Dream Stream for as much time as your calendar will allow.

My son and I are traveling around for a couple of weeks and we ran across this cabin with 210 five star rating with beautiful views of the river. After renting it I visited with Doug the owner and found him be very knowledgable of the area and very helpful with our needs. I wouldn't hesitate renting this cabin again at all, hopefully we get another chance to visit again. Thanks Doug

This cabin by the river is absolutely stunning, resembling a picturesque scene. Despite the less than ideal weather conditions, the cabin provided everything we could possibly need. The blackstone on the porch was perfect for cooking, and there was an impressive selection of board games to choose from. The soothing sound of the river added to the overall relaxing ambiance.
