About this house rental
City of Durango Permit #11-183
Just a note on the current Covid 19 situation; We *Sanitize* our vacation rentals according to the CDC guidelines with safe practices like: Masks, Gloves, Bleach, washing on Hot, and a whole lot of obsessive cleaning! Our places are very safe to stay and enjoy without worry. Durango is currently partially open with masks required in all public spaces. Restaurants are open with social distancing in place.
Situated on a huge lot, in the heart of Downtown Durango, the Wild Horse Guesthouse is only five blocks from the Durango & Silverton Train Station.
This two bedroom one bath house is uber comfy. Full of light, and decorated in what we call Modern Cowboy style. All the luxuries of a boutique hotel await: claw foot tub, tile shower, new memory foam beds, fine linens, and an American Leather Comfort Sleeper couch in the living room. There is a king sized bed in the master bedroom, and a queen in the second bedroom. Then the Queen Sleeper couch and a nice full sized futon in the living room. Four beds total.
The kitchen is complete with real knives, gas range, full sized refrigerator, island, and all the dishes and pans you could want. Open floor plan lends itself to family gatherings. There is A/C in the summer and a beautiful gas fire place in the winter.
The front yard is fully landscaped with a nice cool lawn to play on and a covered porch with furnishings. The porch is new and with post and beam construction under a rusty metal roof is is super stylish. Being on the north side of the house in the summer it is a great place to eat al fresco.
The back yard is huge and surrounded by a privacy fence. There is even a doggy door to the side yard that leads to the back yard. Woof.
Location is where it is at: half a block from the River Walk trail to Santa Rita Park, a short walk to Durango Natural Foods Co-Op our great local grocery, Horse Gulch Trail System, the Train Station, coffee and breakfast places, and of corse all the downtown restaurants and shops just a short walk away.
The Wild Horse Guesthouse, a beautiful place for your family to explore Durango.
All the best,
Holly Jason

My family and dog stayed for four nights at Wild Horse house. It was quaint and clean and in a great location. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we would need. I was able to walk downtown, to the river and to a playground with my kids very easily. Highly recommend!!

We have stayed at the Wild Horse twice and it is perfect for our needs. The house is comfortable, nicely decorated and has everything in it that we could need meaning we can travel with less. The location is fantastic! It’s a short walk to downtown and has a trail a few feet from the driveway that leads to the Santa Rosa park and trail along the Animas. We spend a lot of time walking along the Animas, gawking at its beauty and we also walk downtown daily to enjoy the restaurants, shopping and ice cream! The biggest bonus for us is the fully fenced in yard! We travel with two large dogs and our boys have room to run and play. After a long drive, they are always excited to get back there and stretch their legs. The location is great, the house is lovely, the neighbors are friendly and Holly is the hostess with the mostest. If you are visiting Durango, the Wild Horse is the place to stay!

Wild horse was a great spot on the quiet edge of town but easily accessible to everything. We had a fantastic time.

This VRBO is my all time Durango favorite. It is even better than the pictures. Clean charming and spacious, it has all the amenities that make it a very comfortable place to stay. Highlights were the gas fire place and deep tub. Definitely will book again.

This is our second time staying at this property and it’s super nice. We had issue with water backing up in bathroom and contacted owner and rotor rooter was out within the hour and it was fixed. Great communication with owner and house has everything we needed

The wild Horse was very convenient to downtown activities. My dog loved the large private backyard. It was clean and the kitchen was setup for cooking pretty much whatever you want. Comfy beds and living area. We’ll stay again.
4.8
Nice place to stay. Clean, responsive host, and as advertised. Close to town and just about anything you’d want to do in and around Durango.

We enjoyed our stay there.
Would recommend it to everyone.

I came to town with some family to perform in a concert at Fort Lewis Community Concert Hall. The house was perfect for our needs. We arrived early in the week to explore the town. The Durango-Silverton Train was worth the ticket price for us. Beautiful scenery, especially when you got out of town and began the mountain climb. We visited the Aztec ruins as our music was based on Indian heritage, Chaco Canyon would have been on the list, but the weather did not cooperate for that. Many orchestra members went to Mesa Verde which was nearby Durango as well. The Hot Springs north of Durango were a real treat. My husband did some skiing at Purgatory as well. The concert went very well and I recommend checking the Fort Lewis Concert schedule whenever you come. They have a full schedule and it's an excellent venue at a great price. The house was a great location for all of our activities! We walked along Main street, the path to the Animas River, the Horse Gulch Trail to the Powerline. We packed our days full and came back to the house where we could relax. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil and dish we needed. A grocery store was nearby so we cooked some meals. The internet was good, the fireplace nice, and everyone was comfortable. We did not use the fenced yard as we had dog sitters back home, but I would likely bring the dog next time. My car is an e-hybrid, so I was thrilled they provided an EV Charger. If we are ever in the area we'd love to stay again.

Really enjoyed our stay. Close to connection trial for Animas River Trail and Horse Gulch Trails. Nice layout, plenty of kitchen cooking and housewares, clean and safe. Not far from skiing and downtown eateries & shops.
Sent wrong check in instructions but thankfully one of the owners answered promptly and sent correct entry. The only things I would suggest would be instructions to television. 3 remotes and we cld not figure out system. We weren’t really on vacation to watch but on a cold snowy night by fireplace, a movie would have been great. Also, maybe a blackout in Master bedroom window as neighbor’s outdoor flood light shines right in your face.

The house is very nice and in a quiet neighborhood. The pictures look exactly like the house. If we go back to Durango, I would definitely look at staying here again!

Always enjoy staying here!

The home had everything we needed and we were very comfortable during our stay. The beds were comfortable with very nice linens. The shower took some adjusting to as to how to work it. Our dog could easily open the barn door to the bathroom so we had to watch that😁. She loved the easy access to the side yard. The only thing I would suggest is putting blinds in the bedrooms instead of just the curtains, makes sleeping in a little easier while on vacation without the morning light streaming in and would also provide better privacy. Otherwise great home with easy access to the heart of Durango!!! Thank you!!

I stayed with my family. My kids loved the space in the yard to play. The place is nice and setup well. It also has an EV charger which is cool even though I don't drive one.

Exactly as advertised. Huge yard for the dog. Friendly neighbors. Very responsive property managers. We will definitely use this property again for future visits!

House is very nice, the remodel was well done and everything was very comfortable. The dogs loved the fenced in yard to explore and get some exercise in. Only issue was for us it was a little too far to walk to downtown, but not a big issue. In all I recommend this to anyone visiting Durango.

A great home to use as a base camp to explore Durango. The home had everything we needed, it was right in town, and the owners were very helpful and friendly. We were so happy to have stayed there.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Traveling with two dogs we were glad to find a quiet location with a secure fenced in yard. Great location close to downtown and walkable to a great local (dog friendly)brewery, Anarchy Brewing. Everything we needed was available (towels, dishes) and the furnishings and beds were very comfortable! Look forward to staying again the next time we are in town!

I have a high maintenance family with a paralyzed husband and a dog who has just had ACL surgery. The host was so accommodating and let us check in early and stay a little bit later due to the circumstances of a trip. The communication was excellent! I have actually stayed at her places before, and will be back.

The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Quaint home and nicely decorated, I loved it!

Great location, large yard and very dog friendly, walkable to so many places, amazing shower and tub and comfy beds! The Wi-Fi and amenities made our stay even more enjoyable. We hope to visit Wild Horse Guesthouse again soon!

Great location and pets accommodation.

Loved the towels, excellent heater & cozy, and place was much bigger than the pictures! Our dogs loved the huge yard and the walking path that is two properties away on the left side with a creek. Would definitely stay here again. Thought the place was very fancy and had laundry and full kitchen. I even went to Natural Grocers to get the same Alpine Provisions Shampoo & Showerl Gel that they had in the bathroom! Comfortable beds. There was even ice cream left in the freezer to eat.
4.8
We had an amazing time in Durango. We even had to stay an extra night due to a ton of snow, Holly was great and easy to communicate with while we had to add an extra night!

We stayed for a few days to take our toddler to the polar express. The property was very clean and had everything we needed. Great location, close to everything.
4.8
The wild horse guest house worked out nicely for us. My only comments, I would have liked space to put my toiletries in the bathroom. It’s cute but has very little counter space and the cabinet is already full.
There was nowhere to put clothes in a dresser or shelves in the bedrooms. . Even the closets were full of linens and storage.
These are small things but they would make my stay even better.
4.8
Our stay here was great! We came with our dogs and it was the perfect fit for them and us. The backyard is huge! The front patio is adorable and had it been warmer, we would’ve spent time out there. The king bed was super comfy and we also loved the little stove fireplace. We used to live in durango and will hopefully be back often to visit and will book again! Thanks so much!
