Great mix of traditional Nepal and modern with great Nepali staff

Friendly helpful staff. Very clean with nice decor which was a great mix of traditional nepali decor and modern decor.

View from the room was not great.

Good City Hotel

Good location. Great food. Good housekeeping. Friendly people. Walkable to Patan Durbar Square. Nice view. Small rooms but very effective utilisation of space.

The restaurant Tamarind next door creates HAVOC at night. Unbelievably loud singing by terrible singers.

Good stay!

This a pretty normal hotel. It is not like what you would expect "TAJ" brand hotels to be. I really striggled with the staff regarding payments. The breakfast and teh food in this hotel is supremely good. Kudos to the chef! The rooms are big, spacious, very clean and comfortable.

The staff at the front desk was very slow and didn't understand what I was trying to tell them.

very central with good access to the sights comfortable and clean bedroom

couldn’t see the bottom of the swimming pool as it was filthy so didn’t go swimming. I had booked this hotel as one of a few with a pool. Breakfast staff had to be asked for coffee, they didn’t approach you. Breakfast was not a vast choice more a continental or Indian food breakfast.

very cosy and comfortable place.

A taj property always known for being clean, self contained and children friendly. it was walking distance to the zoo and to patan durbar (the best by the dusk) Rapchik dosa by chef Chandra Prakash is absolute delight. dinner on the 10th floor is feast for the tummy s as no stunning view of Kathmandu is treat to the eyes. Staff was awesome Ritesh and Albina at main desk and Bibek at Mynt were super friendly. the security guys were always helpful with getting a cab.

Way to go Vivanta, I can't wait to see you again.

I really did like this place, they have several restaurants and lots to spa/workout related amenities, most free but what you paid extra was very reasonable. We stayed 3 nights and then came back for one final night before heading to the airport. Checkin and getting to the rooms was flawless both times even with a full lobby. The rooms were so big and plush. I can't say enough about how friendly the staff was and ready to help. Way to go Vivanta, can't wait to see you again.

Fantastic and Peaceful

The cleanliness, Location, and ambiance are great. The staff is friendly and nice. Great breakfast. Great shower. Markets and other important places are easier to access. The rooftop restaurant and the pool is fantastic!

There was some repair work going on during the day. So, there were some banging and noise that disturbed the peace.

Disappointment after previous great stays

Vivanta is actually close to where I live and I use it for occassional staycations. Usually I have liked the food, room and rooftop areas.

This time my room was not ready, so I had to wait (they were not busy at all, so a bot strange. The room also turned out to be the smallest ever, and it took me an a technician an hour to get my wi-fi working. The worst was that the rooftop was in renovation, something not mentioned in advance. The pool was there, but so were the drilling noises and dust. No eating outdoors.

Brilliant place in great location

super service. very comfortable beds and rooms. and all facilities (gym pool sauna and spa). especially the rooftop restaurant is awesome with amazing views over Kathmandu Valley. also the staff is very attentive and very nice.

the property is not even close to how a 5 star should be. it’s a very 3 star kind of a property. sad to see a sad taj Vivanta in Nepal.

Nice atmosphere, the staff at the spa especially friendly and accommodating. Also the reception very kind. Breakfast buffet is rich in choice.

Not much to signal really, everyone is helpful. Only at breakfast you sometimes have to ask twice for the coffee. Which is a detail of course
