Wonderful vacation for an extended family in beautiful lake lure cove, clean water, fish, and much to do for children and adults of all ages. The house was also lovely. Nothing could be better!

We loved our stay at this Lake Lure property! It was such a charming home with everything we needed. We loved the privacy of being at the end of the cove. The view of the lake and mountains was wonderful. We had adequate parking and it was great to walk right into the house with no one xtra steps for my elderly mom. Loved our stay!

Such an amazing view and so much peace and quiet

We loved our most recent stay at Martha's home just as much as our two prior visits. It's a great space for our extended family to gather and share time. I appreciate Martha's great communication and consideration.

Beautiful view, comfy home, lovely visit with family. Perfect location to feel "away from it all" but close enough to stores, hikes, and activities for all ages. Lots of shade to keep the heat away. We loved kayaking, swimming off the dock, and lounging on the porch. We had plenty of space for my the little ones, the teens, all the parents, and a set of grandparents. Martha made sure we were welcome and well-equipped for our stay. FYI: Don't plan to bring your own kayaks (Martha has some anyway) - the registration for lake use is very expensive. Do plan to get a fishing license. Patrol boats are out a lot and monitor closely. Bait can be found at the Marina in the town of Lake Lure. Roads to the house are curvy and windy but any vehicle can make it. We enjoyed it and are so thankful for our week away! Thanks!

Lake Lure is a must in anyone's travel, but the cabin was what gave us the most memories!. Spacious and quaint is the best way to describe. We had 3 families stay and none of us felt crowded or on top of each other. I recommend to anyone looking and would definitely stay again.
Thank you to our host for all the memories we made and the extra hospitality we received.

Lake time this year instead of a beach trip and we were all so thrilled with our choice! 4 grandchildren- ranging from 3 and 4 year old “littles” and 8 and 10th are old “bigs” with their 2 sets of parents and us the grandparents had everything we needed for a week of fun at Lake Lure! The owner- Martha- was so very responsive and helpful with making sure the hospitality the home offered was well in place for us. Lake dock was full of kayaks and splash pad fun! Super nice cove for that. And THE VIEW! Wow! We rented a pontoon boat to add to our fun from Lake Lure Boat Rental for part of the week. Everyone in our family gave the week and lake house a double thumbs up!👍🏻

We spent a week at this property for the third time. Need I say more? It is perfect for our family vacation. So much to do and to see. And the house has everything anyone could want. The owners are very accommodating. I highly recommend this rental.

The house was perfect for us. We had a fabulous week. The cove is GORGEOUS. House was stocked with everything we needed. The only issue we had was the internet/tv. We like to watch shows at night and it was really hard to get access. I would recommend maybe upgrading your tv service or internet, but other than that, we loved it!

With this being our second stay at Martha's home, we definitely enjoy it! With plenty of space indoors, on the deck, on the dock, and in the water, our extended family had a great time and felt very much at home. With Verizon service nearly nonexistent and very spotty internet at the house, it was mostly an unplugged week for us which is wonderful for a family vacation.

This was our second year in a row at this house and again had a great time. The deck and dock are great and that is after all, why we’ve come to Lake Lure.
Martha is always prompt and extremely helpful if ever a question arises.
I’m sure we’ll be back!

First, the great ;;; The view from the back deck is spectacular! It is an end lot, which provides privacy. We loved that, but see the not so great comments, because that comes with pros and cons. The proximity to the lake, the back deck and furniture provided, and dining area, kitchen area, and den are fabulous! The wood floors and cabinets reminded me of my grandmother's house. It is not modern, so, if that is your preference, this is probably not the house for you. If you appreciate old, quality craftsmanship, then you will enjoy the feeling of nostalgia that greets you when you enter this home. Communication with the manager or owner (I'm not sure) is prompt, informative, friendly, and accurate.
The fact that linens, towels, and household essentials, like trashbags and paper products, are provied is phenomenal. I really appreciated not having to pack 1/2 the house for just a weekend trip. Second, the good . . . The house is large and will accomodate groups while giving everyone some privacy. Having 3 bathrooms allowed each couple on our trip to have their own space. The location is fairly close to restaurants and shops. Our commute down the mountain to civilization was only about 10 minutes. Now the not so great . . . The bedrooms and upstairs sitting area are fairly outdated. The pillows need to be replaced and, if you don't take your own with you, you will regret it when you remove the pillowcases and look at the stains on the old pillows. There is some water damage to the ceiling in the lower-level bedroom, and the home had a bit of a musty smell on the upper level. The refrigerator has a small leak, which required us to mop it up multiple times each day. I would think the manager knows about this, because it is has resulted in some water damage to the wood flooring in front of the refrigerator, and it would take some time to cause that damage. We arrived at night, and found it a bit difficult to see where we were supposed to go. The final road to the home is narrow and, at times, it was a tight fit for a full-size truck. Those of us with Verizon had no cell service. The one in our group with AT&T had service, although it was spotty at times. The TV would not receive a signal, which wasn't really a problem for us as we were busy with other activities. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend the home! We will certainly consider it again when we return to the area.

This house was extremely cozy and offered gorgeous views of the lake! The property provided all the things needed for a lovely weekend in, including plenty of fire wood, a fully equipped kitchen, and several kayaks. While this was our first time at the property, we hope it won't be our last!

Our family had a fun weekend at Lake Lure! The view was beautiful from the house and we all enjoyed kayaking and swimming from the private dock. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. We enjoyed visiting Chimney rock and the town. Not ideal you if you have trouble with steps. It was nice to be able to relax in such a beautiful place.

Our family had a great week, the grandkids loved the slide, the house was equipped with everything we needed. The grocery store was nearby. We also enjoyed many local activities

Our family had a great time at this property. It’s a nice lake house with a great deck, comfortable living room and well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the kayaks, water slide, fire pit and ice maker! As mentioned in other reviews, the roads leading to the house are winding and narrow but we never had any trouble getting places. Overall a great vacation.

Our family of 3 generations had a fantastic time staying on Hummingbird Cove, and yes, we even saw many hummingbirds! The house is very comfortable, kitchen is stocked with all of the fishes and utensils we might have needed (and our family loves to cook!). We swam, fished, paddle boarded and kayaked off the dock in the quiet cove every day. We also rented a pontoon boat from the local boating company for a couple of days which was fun and convenient for exploring out further on the lake and swimming in other coves. Views are spectacular from the deck. We hope to return soon!!

Was a great house for our family. Loved that the dock had shade and the kids loved the slide. Supermarket was just 10 minutes away which is very convenient.

We had a great stay in Hummingbird Cove. It was beautiful and peaceful and the house was perfect for our group.

My wife and I, parents, and almost-three-year-old stayed here for the Memorial Day weekend, and we couldn't be more pleased with our decision. This property was exactly as advertised—although the breathtaking view, which we never got tired of, was even better. The house was the perfect mix of rustic, comfortable, and updated, and fully stocked with essentials for cooking. Lots of little things, like a full spice cabinet, lots of grilling utensils, an extra tank of gas for the grill, and life jackets for kids and adults, made it clear that the owner, Martha, has been (successfully) hosting people for quite some time. I live in Asheville so Lake Lure isn't unfamiliar to me, but staying here I felt like I was on a totally new vacation. On top of all this, the owner was extremely communicative and accommodating. My family and I would absolutely stay here again.
4.8
The house had everything we needed down to the smallest details. The kayaks and slide were huge hits! We even caught some nice sized bass right from the dock. The view is stunning and the cove felt private and cozy. We hope to return for a longer stay soon!

We had a great time. There were 7 of us. There was plenty of room to move around. The kitchen was well stocked. The cove was great for swimming, fishing and kayaking. We really enjoyed the changing views of the mountains and the nearby hiking. The bathroom rugs were either stained or dirty. I changed them out with clean ones.

This is a wonderful property to visit. The property sits on a quiet cove with an amazing view of the lake and the mountains right in front of you. The big boats cruising the lake are nice to see but never loud. We never turned on the tv in 5 days. All of our time was spent eating at the great dining table, sitting outside on the comfy chairs or sitting around the fire pit telling stories. At our first night’s dinner I made the comment that sitting at the table overlooking the cozy living room made me feel like I was at home. That is a great feeling to bring 8 people together to a strange house and feel so at home. My daughter and her three high school friends had a great time. I think they broke Instagram posting so many photos. If I come back to Lake Lure I will definitely rent this house again. Take a tour of Lake Lure if you don’t have access to a boat. There are some amazing views of this lake once you get out into the middle of it. And of course Chimney Rock is just 25 minutes away.

This property was located in a beautiful lake area, we had a great time.

Had enough space for the 11 of us.The thermostats were different than what I am used to, but we figured it out. Would like to go back in the summer. It's not as scary going up and down the mountain as I thought. Lol I would have liked access to the game room, but would understand if somethings are just for their family.Loved the views from just about everywhere I looked. Had a free trial hike 10 min away. It was a great stay.
4.8
The home was large enough for the whole family. We didn't feel crowded at home. The kitchen was well stocked. The grocery store was excellent and convenient. The house felt like home!

This lake side cottage is a wonderful, relaxing spot on beautiful Lake Lure. Our extended family enjoyed the docks for fishing, swimming and using the kayaks. The porch was an enjoyable place for morning coffee or an afternoon talk while a child slept. The great room is full of comfortable furniture for reading, games or conversations. The kitchen has everything for home cooked meals.

Felt like home, a really nice home! Well-equipped. Right on the water, beautiful view. Incredibly well-equipped.
