About this cabin rental
Welcome to Timber Haven! This custom-built log cabin, nestled in the Blue Ridge Foothills, is located within the gated community of Riverbend in Lake Lure, NC. Our spacious 3,300 sq ft 3 story home allows plenty of room for our guests to spread out and enjoy laidback cabin living. Snuggle up by the gas fireplace in the 2-story great room, kick back under the stars by the fire pit, or take a hike on our 1/4 mile trail to a beautiful private spot on the Broad River!
Able to comfortably accommodate 8-10 guests, this cabin has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, along with a loft for additional sleeping space. The first-floor master bedroom features a king bed w/ memory foam Casper mattress, a walk-in closet and jacuzzi tub. Additionally, there is a second bedroom w/ two twin beds, a full bath and washer/dryer on this main level. Upstairs there are 2 additional bedrooms, one w/ a queen bed & office area and the other w/ a queen bed & a twin. Also on the second floor is a full bath and a sleeping loft w/ pull-out couch (converts to a full bed). Additionally, there is a Pack N’ Play and high chair for our littlest visitors.
The cabin has a well equipped kitchen and a deck that spans the full length of the house. You’ll find all that you need for serving up family favorites and grilling out.
The basement is outfitted for entertainment with a flat screen TV, Foosball table, and dart board, along with a half-bath. You'll also find boardgames, a hammock and corn hole. Large River Tubes and a Stand Up Paddle Board will provide endless entertainment on the water!
In addition to the cabin, we also own another 6.5 adjacent acres spanning from the mountain ridge down to the Broad River. Our guests are welcome to take the 1/4 mile trail starting in the back yard of the cabin and hike down to a lovely secluded spot on the river.
Within Riverbend guests have access to two lakes (Big Mirror Lake and Little Mirror Lake), a private beach w/ picnic areas, pavilion and barbecue pits. The Broad River runs directly through our little community and is perfect for fishing, hiking or kayaking. Enjoy the private waterfall or float in a tube to the 'Ole Swimming Hole'.
Looking to explore outside of Riverbend? Lake Lure Beach is just 10 minutes away, complete w/ water slides and a splash pad! The main marina offers boat rentals, daily tours and dinner cruises. River tubing, zip-lining, gem-mining, horseback riding, golfing and rock climbing are all within a short distance of the house. Hike Chimney Rock State Park for a breathtaking view or meander around the charming little town of Chimney Rock, only 10 minutes away. For any grocery needs, Ingles Market is located just minutes from the house. Hendersonville and Asheville are both an easy 45 minute drive.
The cabin is located off of a mountainous gravel road. Although it is only a short distance from the entrance gate and 4WD is not required, it could be helpful during inclement weather or if guests are not accustomed to driving in the mountains.

We had a great time. Property is well stocked. Plenty to do in the area but cabin is nice and quiet.

But those woods on Timber Haven’s private trail empty you out onto the gently flowing Broad River splashed with sunshine and dappled shade. A beautiful location with adirondack chairs and fish if you prefer a challenge. The trail has steep spots with rocks and a stream that does a crossover. Take your time and pause for rest on the return and reasonably good mobility will get you there and back. I know two 76 year olds who made it okay.
Everything about the house is as the hosts describe so I won’t bore you with repetition. However, it is the perfect vacation mountain home with all the expected amenities and more. The home has been lived in by real people and we did not have to worry about our sometimes exuberant teens and an 8 year old. The location was ideal and was close to the entrance/exits in the private Riverbend community within Lake Lure. It is a quick drive to downtown Lake Lure and Chimney Rock with numerous restaurants, a great Engles grocery, and water water everywhere with a wide variety of outdoor activities. Or just sit on the porch and rock with your favorite beverage and someone with whom you enjoy talking, a great cure for anxiety.

My family had a great long weekend stay at the cabin. Everything is very well stocked, and labeled, so there’s no difficulty putting dishes away or finding which light switch you need. The cabin was very clean, and we had great communication with the owners - even got to meet them! There is plenty of space - all 8 of us could watch TV and eat together. We enjoyed playing foosball, but there were not enough darts for a real game. The hike to the river was a little steep on the way back up, but totally worth it. The river and the rocks and the chairs are just perfect. We took the paddleboard across the street to the lake on the other side of the neighborhood of Riverbend. The beach area is maintained, had shade, and a small pavilion (up the steps) to tables and restrooms. We had a great time taking turns paddle boarding. We would love to come back when the weather is cooler to enjoy the fire pit and a less sweaty trail hike to the river! The internet is good but the binder in the cabin had better info on local restaurants and activities, thank you for having that available!

Cabin is stocked, clean and spacious. Great communication by the hosts. Tucked away while being close enough to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Enjpyed the winery and brewery and the boat tour of the lake. Plenty of activities for the teenagers as well. Thanks for sharing this beautiful property with us!

We had our three kids and their spouses and one infant on this trip, and there was ample room. The house is located in Lake Lure which is a small town about 50 minutes to 1 hour from Asheville. We rented a pontoon boat for the day on lake lure which I highly recommend. Not too many restaurant choices close by, but we like to cook in the evenings so it was fine. Dirt road leading to the house just FYI. The home was comfortable and the basement was our evening hangout spot for board games. We had an excellent time hiking and enjoying the surrounding area.

Great family vacation! Loved the place, loved the location!

We just got home from a long weekend with our family at this wonderful house in the mountains surrounding Lake Lure. Everything about our time there was fun and memorable. The home is comfortable and has everything that you could possibly imagine that you would want. We had 9 adults, a 14 year old and a 3 year old and there was something for everybody. We walked down the trail to their beautiful spot on the river, went into the town of Lake Lure and had lunch on the river one day and went to an Arts & Crafts festival, that had been suggested by the host, the next. We hiked and went to the swimming hole and waterfall. It was within 5 minutes of the house and absolutely beautiful.
The hosts were very responsive to our questions or needs. I can't say enough about this home, and will definitely be coming back.

Cabin is beautiful in a scenic mountain area and It was very clean.
We were missing 3 bath towels. One of the beds was missing sheets. There were no extras accessible.
Wi-fi did not work. Limited cellular service. TVs in almost every room but none of them worked.
Lights were burned out on the side porch, the basement and the kitchen.
Hot tub only ran hot a few minutes, then was cold.
The heat re-adjusted overnight and it was 62 in the house. Couldn’t re-adjust it overnight.
Basement was freezing and couldn’t adjust the temperature as well. Too cold to be down there.
They supplied shampoo but it was only 3 of the 1oz bottles. 3oz does not work for 10 people staying 4 days. Luckily we brought our own.
Garbage was to be dropped off when we left but we didn’t have the key card. We had to jump the fence to throw it away.
It’s not worth the money.

We book this place for our Youth Leader Retreat and it was a TRUE retreat I’ve experienced so far. The place was wonderful, the host got everything labeled so we didn’t have any trouble finding things or following instructions. They also got a Welcome kit/binder with all the reminders and recommended restaurants and activities to do around the area. We also enjoyed the short trail to the private river and the bonfire at night (They also got kayaks for us to do at the river, which we didn’t get a chance to do). They’re also great with communication as well even though we got everything we needed at the place. I would definitely book this place again if we ever decided to come back to the Lake Lure area. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My family is from St Augustine Florida and we needed a little getaway from the crowds. The pictures do not do this little slice of heaven justice. We enjoyed the walk down to the river so much we did it several times!
We used the fire pit every night, snuggled up to late night movies and played darts when it got too cold in the evening. We all agreed it was a do over! Thank you so much for having us!!!!!

Our stay was so enjoyable, great for total relaxation. Loved hiking down to the river and roasting marshmallows on the fire.

Hands down the cleanliest cabin we have been at in the past five years. We make about one or two trips to a cabin every year and this one was by far the most well organized and well equipped. My son loved the soccer table and enjoyed the time outside. The WiFi connection is great while every room is equipped with a FireTV. The very nice Ingles grocery store is nearby and it has a Starbucks inside. We definitely would come again

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Timber Haven and had lots of room. Had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas!
The home is so lovely and was close to all of the places that we wanted to visit while in Lake Lure.
We enjoyed hiking the trail on the property. Such a beautiful area!
Ashley and David were great hosts.

Our stay at the cabin was excellent. Plenty of room for everyone (2 adults, 2 teenager, and one kiddo) to spread out and come together. The kitchen was well equipped and instructions for everything were clear and helpful. We especially loved the hike from the backyard down to the river!! Thank you for a great vacation!

We loved everything about this cabin! It was cozy but also spacious, the kitchen was very well-equipped, everything was immaculately clean, the area is beautiful, and the path to the river is lovely. We would love to make this our annual fall break location :)

We arrived to the cabin, and it was extremely clean and organized! We had no trouble getting in and settled. We had a family/friend group with children ranging 1-6 years old. This was the PERFECT place for them. Grocery store within ten minutes, chimney rock park about 20 minutes away, and the river was just beautiful. We plan to return!

Ashley and David have mastered the art of hosting! Their Timber Haven cabin is well equipped with supplies and entertainment. My family and I especially enjoyed the spacious layout and ambiance of the outdoor deck and body-hugging seating within the great room. The beds rest heavenly too! Our daughters were able to go SUPing (Stand Up Paddleboarding) on Lake Lure throughout our stay. As an avid trekker, I truly enjoyed their ¼ mile backdoor trial to the lake side. If you plan to go tour Biltmore or partake in Navitat Zip Lining, Flying E-Bike Downtown Asheville Tour, or the Looking Glass Waterfall, do plan to drive 1.10 hrs. to 1.20 hrs.…yes, ALL adventures are worth the drive; to include dining at 12 Bones Restaurant, Mellow Mushroom, and Daddy Mac’s Restaurant. I must state that for a “type-A driver”: Highway 64’s narrow and winding one-lane-in-each-direction is no joke!

Can't say enough about the property. Clean house that had everything you could need. Great location. We loved there trail too the private riverside hangout.
Will definitely recommend and will be coming back.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin - it was exactly what we wanted for our mini family reunion with plenty of space for us to stretch out. The cabin looks exactly like the photos and was a wonderful place for family meals, fire pit s’mores, games, curling up on the couch/in a hammock. WI-FI was strong, and lazing about the river was delightful.

It was a great home, well laid out and stocked. Loved the fire pit with seating around it. Access to the community lake was great and everyone enjoyed being on the paddle board and tubes. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The only thing we weren't prepared for was the 1/4 mile hike to the river. We're from Florida and forgot what "a hike" means :-)

This cabin boasts a 5-star hotel feel with charming rustic decor. The cabin is well-stocked with all the amenities that you would need in the comfort of your own home. The kitchen was better stocked than my personal kitchen. The owner’s description 100% matches what the cabin actually is! Ashley, the owner, was super easy to get a hold of and very prompt. My family is already discussing going back!

Our group arrived at a house that was clean, well provisioned, well cared for, and in a great location. The hosts are great. Easy to reach and very responsive. Our group agrees - High marks across the board.

We had the best Memorial weekend time at the amazing Timber Haven cabin. The cabin was very clean, well stocked with anything you may think, kitchen supplies, extra blankets and pillows, indoor games, water tubes, towels, hammock and even wood for the fire pit. The beds were all incredible comfortable, the décor made the cabin so nice and cozy, our kids never wanted to leave.
Our favorites activities were the walk to the river, enjoying the fire pit, the playroom and games. Grocery store and Restaurants close by and convenient. The communication with the owners was excellent, and they were very accommodating for all our needs, great people! We totally recommend this property and we can't wait to go back!

The cabin was fabulous! Very quaint but spacious. Close to adventures and shopping while being tucked away in a peaceful atmosphere. Perfect for a trip to unplug and enjoy the outdoors but close enough to site see around the area! The owners were also easy to deal with and answered all our questions. Will definitely recommend to others!

It was a great to get together with both our daughters and son in law. This home has everything we could have possibly wanted. If I had any questions the owner responded instantly. The home was very well appointed. The beds were cozy. All the comforts of home. Walking distance to beach. Centrally located to not only beach but down town Morro Bay, SLO, Cayucos, Cambria and Harmony.. a town with population of 18 people.

Perfect home for a family get-away! The home was professionally cleaned, very nicely furnished, had full array of kitchen utensils and plenty of bed space. Out family could not have asked for more property owners. They communicated clearly and swiftly from the booking process thru the checkout process. We highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing getaway that is close enough to Lake Lure/Chimney Rock that you have plenty to do if you so desire yet far enough away to feel like you are in the tranquil part of the Blue Ridge mountains.

The cabin was so clean and the property was beautiful! The quarter mile hike to the river was delightful and peaceful. There was plenty of towels, blankets and the beds were comfy. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and a lot of board games to choose from. The cabin is close to everything, the grocery store was about 9 minute drive and an easy drive to chimney rock. Everyone enjoyed their time here. Thank you!

My family (2 adults, 1 child) and another family (2 adults, 2 children) rented this house for a long weekend. It was perfect!!! This cabin is a nice distance from Ashville, away from the crowds, but still close enough that we were able to visit the city several times during our stay. It is very close to both Chimney Rock and Morse Park. It's 10 minutes from a nice supermarket Ingles. There is a nice gas fireplace and a firepit outside to keep you warm. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of gadgetry, and the grill is clean. The hosts were responsive and helpful to all of our inquiries. Definitely would recommend staying here for a cozy mountain getaway.

Great accommodations for our family and friends. We enjoyed walking to the river and sitting by the fire pit at night. Ashley was a great host and communicated everything we needed to know. We’d definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this beautiful, spacious, well located timber cabin. All the bedrooms are large and well spread out giving all family members privacy. The kitchen is very well equipped, we cooked there most days. There is a large grill on the upper decking which was easy to use. The dining area could comfortably fit all of us with room to spare. The downstairs games room has great reclining chairs, table football and a darts board. The fire pit was great for relaxing outside toasting marshmallows. Watch out for cobwebs as you wend your way down the private trail to the river! Plenty of wildlife outside but none indoors, perfect. The rubber rings and paddle board available for guests to use provide hours of fun on the idyllic Mirror Lake and Broad River .

I would give this 5 stars. The minute we walked in my husband said, "I want to live here!" It was a beautiful cozy home. This home is well stocked, the best that I have ever seen. Plenty of kitchen supplies, which in my book is the most important thing. Our family loved the fuse ball table and the darts, but most of all they loved the fire pit every night. Also, the fact that the community had their own private beach on big mirror lake was awesome. It was so beautiful and even I (age 71) even tried out the paddle board that was available with the house. The private trail that leads to the river was fun. A little challenge coming back up the hill but so worth the 1/4 mile walk to the beautiful Broad River. We didn't want to leave our little vacation but maybe someday will go back. I surely recommend this vacation home."
