About this cabin rental
Pirates Cove is our second cabin which is next door to Treasure Cove our Third cabin.. Treasure Cove can be seen on VRBO, Search # 1010047. Pirates and Treasure Cove both have their own private bathrooms of each bedroom plus a powder room upstairs and downstairs. Pirates and Treasure Cove each have an extra outside patio for a hot tub.
There are 9 spacious bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Walk out the patio door to the waterfront, enjoy the double decker dock with slide and a view of the cove of Norris Lake. The cove is quiet, there are no waves from lake traffic, great swimming for all ages.
The top floor has a large open kitchen equipped with 2 refrigerators with water and ice in door, 2 dishwashers, gas range, large double door pantry, large bar that seats 8, granite counter tops, dining room and living room. Kitchen is well equipped with dinnerware, pots N pans, and too many small appliances to mention. The living room has an awesome view of the cove with a half bath for everyone to use. There are 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms on top floor. One bedroom has a king bed and one has a queen bed with attached bathrooms.
The middle floor has a centralized washer/dryer and living area. The four bedrooms on this floor have attached bathrooms. All four bedrooms have one queen bed and day bed with trundle (each with their own bathroom). Patio on this floor has a relaxing view of the cove and mountains all around.
The bottom level has 3 bedrooms, with attached bathrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed with a child bed, one bedroom with 2 bunk beds, full on bottom and twin on top, and one bedroom with 2 queen beds. There is a half bath on this level for everyone to use. This floor has easy access to the lake. There are 2 arcade games with a gathering area to entertain for all ages. The bar has a sink, dishwasher, refrigerator and bar stools.
Pirates Cove has plenty of parking located in Lakeside Estates. Easy access, 20 minutes off I-75.
Please note from October to April we have seasonal water and the dock will be removed. Don't worry The fun never stops at Pirates!

Great place with lots of room and rooms! Very clean and equipped very well for a large family or families. The views are beautiful. There are a lot of steps to the dock and water but they are very manageable. We enjoyed the water sports equipment. The multiple decks were nice and the house had a lot of places to hang out. We would highly recommend Pirate’s Cove!

Summer vacation
This property was very nice and has all the things you need/want. It’s tucked away in a great cove for plenty of swimming, jumping from the dock, or sliding into the water. We are 4 families (total of 16 ranging from 6-46) and there was plenty of room for all! Plus I don’t think I heard “I am bored” one time from the littles, or the teens. If you are bringing a boat the launching point is super close and there is plenty of room to have a second boat. You will not be disappointed at all. The only thing that we found that was a little issues was the dock got super slick, even if you were not running.

Wonderful Stay
Everything here was amazing and we'll definitely rent again next year. The house was perfect for our large family of 21. We had a blast jumping and sliding off the dock, caught bass, catfish, carp, and crappie, and did a ton of activities on the lake!

Great Week!
We stayed at the property for a week this Summer and it was terrific! It was as described on VRBO. The owners and manager were responsive and courteous. There was a minor issue, to which they helped rectify immediately beyond our expectation. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Family vacation
My husband and I and 6 of our adult children and all of their children stayed at pirates cove for a family reunion/vacation and we all loved it! I had several of the kids tell me it was the best vacation ever! You really don’t need anything else..... you have the lake, the hot tub and the beautiful house. The house has everything you need plus some in the kitchen. The view from the balcony is amazing and so serene and peaceful early in the morning. It has to be the best view in the cove! I hope to come back!

Family vacation at Pirate's Cove
This was a beautiful house with a wonderful view of Norris Lake. My husband and I and our family (6 adult children with 5 significant others and 10 grandkids) had a great time, and the house was spacious enough to allow everyone to have privacy and spread out. We really enjoyed the boat dock, and we rented the boat and water toys for even more fun! The only issue we had was that the hot tub wasn't really hot, and when we called the number for property maintenance, we were told someone would come to look at it but that never happened. Other than that, it was a perfect weekend and we had a wonderful time!

We had our granddaughter’s Beautiful Wedding at a Beautiful Church with Pastor Mike Smith (he was great) 12 minutes from Pirate Cove Rental we Decorate inside had a beautiful reception there just a good time with Decks & the slide on the deck and we had great neighbors on each side! The home was very clean and equipped with about anything you would want or need thumbs up to this place we had a ball!

Perfect Set Up
The house was in awesome condition. It looks to be brand new. The communication was so fast. We wanted to purchase a specialty PPV late in the evening and the staff was available to assist. It is perfect for a large group with so many individual beds. Each bedroom has a private full bath which makes It so convenient for the entire group. Decks with views of the lake on every level, 3 different common areas for congregating, ample kitchen amenities. So so much more. The cove the house sits in has other houses which make for a fun time but is graciously spaced away from the other houses for privacy as well. Private dock with many water toys available and big shout out to that aqualilypaddotcom float, its so fun! Our entire group had such a great time! Thank you so much for providing such a great space!

We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen with two refrigerators and two dishwashers was great. The dock and swimming area were fantastic and we enjoyed the pontoon rental! I would recommend to clean all the spider webs on the porches, dock, by the Hot tub etc before each renter and also the decor in the bedrooms is very dated but the beds are comfy!

Loved it. We brought our children and grandchildren with us (21 total). Everyone has a blast. The house had plenty of run to accommodate our large family, large kitchen too. I definitely recommend this house to any large group.

Wonderful house and lake!
We loved the house, which had plenty of rooms--and beds--for everyone (18 people this year). The kids, mostly teenagers, really enjoyed tubing behind the pontoon boat and playing with the "water toys," kayaks, paddleboards, and a "water lily," a huge strip of light-weight foam that floated on the water even with several big kids playing/wrestling on it. The kids also loved the 2-story slide, jumping off the top level of the dock, and just swimming around in the lake. Being back on a cove meant almost no boats passing by, which was great for the swimmers, etc. The kitchen was well-equipped, with lots of dishes and two dishwashers. I'm thinking about buying a set of the ceramic-lined pots and pans that were at the house!
However, I would strongly suggest adding a railing, at least on one side, to the three steps leading from the parking area into the house. Stairs without railings are dangerous for us old folks.
And I hated trying to get my compact, front-wheel-drive car up the road/driveway to the next road (the only way out). Every time I tried it, my tires skidded and spun on the loose gravel. I had to back up and get a running start. The heavier vans and those with 4-wheel-drive had an easier time of it, but it was a struggle for the smaller cars.
We have had family vacations in different areas of the nation for the past 22 years, but this is the first location where there were no restaurants to go to for lunch--except the marinas, which were at least 20 minutes away by boat and at least that long (and a scary trip) by car on narrow, twisting, hilly roads. Of course, we could have driven into LaFollette (about 20 minutes) and stopped at Wendy's or McDonalds or Pizza Hut, but we had hoped for something better.
Still, Jane Lammers and her housekeeper, Janice, couldn't control the lack of restaurants, but they did everything they could to make our visit as pleasant and fun as possible. It was nice not to have to deal with an impersonal rental agency. Many thanks to them both! Readers, I hope you all enjoy your vacation at Pirate's Cove as much as we did!

Where do I start:
The home was spotless, 2 refers, 2 dishwashers, plenty of seating , view of the lake terrific from all decks, the shuffle board game (we all loved it), hot tub (clean and refreshing), the boat dock and sliding board (such fun), and now the real fun! The pontoon boat was clean and drove flawlessly (we had a ball on the lake and the restaurant), all the floaties were a blast!
The water in the lake was so comfortable, and refreshing also. As
As you can see we loved the week of vacation with the family at Jane Lammers place! I would recommend this property to anyone, in fact I did to a close friend!

Great home with great management
From booking to stay, this was a great experience. The response rate was always quick with any inquiries or questions. We stayed over a holiday, and even on the holiday when we had a need in the home, the management was responsive and even sent someone over that day. The home had plenty of sleeping space for lots of people. Trundle beds were really helpful. The view from the home is amazing. The fire pit provides another gathering area. Overall, this was a fabulous place to stay!

This was an awesome home that was well appointed for larger groups. Works well having 2 refrigerators in the kitchen and an extra one on the lower level. Similar to other reviews, our family from NJ and S Florida decided to change our tradition of renting a house on Garden City Beach in SC every year to vacationing at Pirate's Cove on Norris Lake.
Pirate's Cove was the perfect house for our family of 11 Adults and 6 children from 1 yo to 7 yo. There was plenty of space on all floors. The bedrooms have plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to make dinner every night. The house was clean and welcoming.
The kids and adults enjoyed spending several days anchored by the jumping bridge on the pontoon boat. The location was perfect for this since the bridge was close-by, but we did not have to worry about boat traffic when we were floating and swimming in the lake. Near the dock all the kids aged 3-7 (and the adults) enjoyed jumping off the top floor of the dock and going down the slide. The only suggestions I would make would be to run electric to the dock to make it easier to inflate large rafts and plug a speaker into. Also, the slide could use running water, as it seemed the other houses around us had. We improvised and used a water squirter to soak the slide. There was also a tarzan rope a short swim across the cove that was fun for the adults (acting like kids). The water in the cove was clear and clean for the first 5 days of our stay, however the last two days it seemed as though vegetation debris
and some trash lingered in the cove perhaps from inconsiderate neighbors or boaters. Could also have been from a storm the night before?
Communication with Jane prior to our arrival was great and Janice answered all of our questions and quickly sent people out to fix one of the steps that came loose on the walk to the dock and to clean the hot tub after it got cloudy from so much use.
Gatlinburg was just less than two hour drive and was a nice change of pace for a day for the family. The Shanghai marina and the Sugar Hollow? marina and restaurant were both nice to stop and have a drink and food on the water. Walmart was only a 15-20 minute drive, and I highly recommend Hollingsworth Meat Market which was 10 minutes away (Butcher was helpful and friendly and had everything we needed).
Overall we loved our stay here and would recommend Pirate's Cove to anyone looking for a great place to have a family vacation.

We stayed from July 22 thru July 29, 2017. When we arrived we found the hot water heater for half the house and the hot tub not working however the owners had it fixed the next morning. The house is huge, beautifully furnished, and the views from the porches were gorgeous. We rented the 70HP pontoon, used it every day, not very fast but it could pull 1 kid on a tube, otherwise very enjoyable. Water toys, kayaks, slide, jumping off the deck, added to the enjoyment. Cell phone reception on the lake was bad but the house phone and Wi-Fi were good. The gravel road the house was on was a little difficult to find the first time, weeds could be cut back and signage improved, but after the first time there was no problem finding the house. I probably lost a few pounds going up the stairs from the dock to the top level of the house but this was probably a good thing., The owners Ron and Jane were great to work with. Would we do this again ... in a heart beat.
