Beautiful home and charming village.
We loved our brief stay here. The home is beautiful and nicely appointed with great views all aroun.d Buonconvento is a real find with a warm atmosphere and friendly locals with a nice selection of bars and restaurants to choose from as well as the Co-op supermarket. Some of the other villages like Montalcino and Pienza whilst lovely to visit (and i am sure very popular in summer) were virtually closed down for the winter it seemed. A big thank you to Julie for all her tips and recommendations ahead of our stay which helped make our holiday extra special- we especially enjoyed the close proximity to the home of Mulino (for pizza and morning coffee) and Bibbio a short drive from the home. We definitely hope to return some day.
A couple of the restaurants in the village were closed till March so missed out as stayed out of season. Other than that our stay was perfect.

Pretty house with great amenities, host's communication and neighbor complaints left us disappointed
The house we rented was truly stunning. It offered a luxurious experience with its well-maintained swimming pool, air conditioning, tennis court, and breathtaking views over the hills of Tuscany. The amenities were top-notch and provided everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The house itself was comfortable, and the option to cool off in the refreshing pool was a welcome treat during the warm Tuscan days.
However, our interactions with the host, while helpful in some aspects, left us wishing for a more relaxed and hands-off approach. While some tips and assistance are always appreciated, the constant stream of messages and calls became overwhelming. One major issue arose when a neighbor complained about us without directly communicating their concerns with us first. On one occasion, when we were just talking outside after dinner, the host confronted us the following morning, threatening to evict us from the property. We were taken aback by this reaction, as there were no complaints during the night, and we had no knowledge that we were being too loud. This episode made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable for the remainder of our stay

Perfect holiday location, amazing house.
The house was beautiful, furnished to a high standard and very comfortable for our family of 8. We loved the fact that it was an old Tuscan farmhouse, however the bathrooms and kitchens are stylishly furnished to a high standard. This residence is perfect to relax in as so quiet away from any traffic and enjoyable countryside walks. The kitchen was a joy to cook in with ample cooking facilities. Comfy beds, spacious bedrooms. The home was only 5 minutes drive to the village of Buonconvento (so glad we stayed here as this really is a hidden gem-far less touristy than some other villages-and like stepping back in time. Weekly market, local shops for meat, fish and veg...thanks for the tips and recommendations, Barrie. The locals are all very friendly and charming. The hosts could not have been kinder with ideas for our stay. We hope to return next summer where we are sure to make use of the pool and newly fitted air con no doubt!

Fantastic Tuscan Character
This is an absolutely stunning place. The villa was exactly as the advert describes. Spacious and more than comfortable for our extended family, inside an out. It was nice to relax after our long journey from the UK. We have rented villa's from Barrie and Julie for many years on Lake Como so we were delighted when he purchased a home in Tuscany. We loved dining taking of an evening here and the kitchen has all we needed to try at hand the Italian cooking! The home is located in a tranquil, unspoilt location without lots of tourists. Buonconvento is a pretty walled village located close by with all amenities including wonderful wine cocktail bars, a decent sized supermarket, fruit and veg shop, bakery, deli's and a weekly outdoor food market. It really is like stepping back in time where the friendly locals are so very welcoming. We visited the Spa close at bagno vignoni for a dip in the thermal springs, boiling hot even in winter! Val D’Orcia close by offers picture perfect scenery with beautiful rolling hills and cypress trees to behold. Montalcino is conveniently located close to the home to visit the wineries, Barrie gave us lots of tips on wineries and places to visit, which we made good use. This was invaluable as we could really explore the area like a local. Highlights included our visit to Pienza where we stocked up on the local pecorino cheese and the beautiful, medieval city of Siena. We took the train to Florence and also visited a superb restaurant and winery in Castellina in Chianti. We had such a lovely stay and even though our stay coincided with the corona virus out break and all ran as normal with all shops, restaurants and bars open. We will definitely return, hopefully to see Tuscany in the summer where we can take advantage of the pool and garden. We will definitely recommend this home to friends and family.
